  • It´s a beauty.

  • I saw that plane today at the Airshow in Skien, Norway. My fav. plane ;)

  • Gibt es eine 4 motorige Maschine die ihr ähnlich sieht?

  • I wish I spoke German. I love the video. Thank you for sharing :)

  • ... arguably, the finest aircraft ever built. I've known pilots who left passenger-jet airline pilot careers to fly DC3 cargo flights and stayed on- just to fly these planes! I hear tell there are pilot waiting-lists @ those carriers who have these venerable aircraft. Man, when you build something 'right.'... .

  • tail lifts so early must be really nose heavy

  • i love the sound auf dc3

  • DC-3 I love you! What's amazing plane in the world!!!

  • Having lots of PAX time in this machine:-)

  • You can thank the founder of American Airlines for these planes. It was he who put them into use just before the war then had them converted for use in the Army air corps.

  • well the plane as a very glorious history...thanks to tNorway letting her fly in Germany...thx

  • I prefer the american and the british used birds of that type...

  • My uncle is one of the pilots!

  • Yes this baby was ahead of it's time, better than a Junkers. A friend of mine was shoot down by a JU-88 over Yugoslovia in WW-2, he was flying for the OSS, fuek and explosives he parachuted to safty with a German patrol hot on his heels, the underground found him before the Nazis, the Red Horse Brigade.

  • What a classic,such great lines!

  • i have drive that in real life:)

that plane is in sandefjord:) in norway:)

  • i flew with it when it came for a visit to Geiteryggen (ENSN) airport :D

it was great! all though i almost lost all my money and my cell phone out of my pockets cuz the nose is pitched up on the ground XD!

PS. if somebody once lost their pilot-sunglases in this plane, i have them (found it during the "walk out of da plane" and tried to find my phone.....)

  • this plane is a plane from ww2 and it goes from torp sandefjord in norway and fly over vestfold and telemark

  • stemmer det;)

    youre right!

(i've seen it myself everytime at torp)

  • very nice video

  • the best plane in the world! thank you for your help in Berlin -Airbridge-

  • my favourite plane, such a nice design

  • there is a model of the dc3 that has turbo props does any one know.

  • i dont think so.

    the engines are fixed.

  • theese engines are not fixed.

  • There have been some DC3's modified with turboprop engines. Just do a quick search w/your favourite search engine for "DC3 turbo"

  • this plane is old

  • it also says " 65 år i norge" it means 65 years old in Norway...

  • Most beautiful design ever.. Should be pictured in the dictionary at "airplane"

  • I agree

  • your right but does your dictionary really have pictures ?

  • Einfach das beste Flugzeug aller Zeiten!!

  • Wish there were normal DC3 videos on youtube without voice and just the pure music of the plane.

  • Being danish, I understand what the older fella is telling the about. A man, or... The former pilot of THIS C-47, which flew during the D-Day invasion, being reunited with his plane, and how he shed a tear when he came back to it, and he gave the plane a few strokes and pet her... That's a touching story

  • Gorgeus plane... Imagine that sound, + 2000.. .Maybe even more, and you've got D-Day C-47s carrying paratroopers flying over Normandy...

Just became a member of a club who fly DC-3 planes :) An ex USAAF C-47

  • I am going to take a ride with this airplane this summer. A ride over Eastern-Norway costs just 500 Norwegian kroner (about 100 $)

  • Well i can understand two things D-day and Normandy that's all these planes were used a troop droppers werent they

  • Yeh I wish I could understand the Talkin..... need translation

  • Yes, nice vid. I have ridden such an airplane only twice. First was from St Louis to Moline via Ozark Airlines and last from Rhein Main AB near Frankfurt to West Berlin and back in 1960. The C47 in Germany flew lower so my ears didn't suffer as they did with Ozark. I didn't know what to do because that was my first commercial flight and I was not informed.

  • Beautiful aircraft & excellent video. Thanks! :^)

  • Vielen Dank! I've been a Supporting Member of Dakota Norway for some years. Been a passenger on LN-WND a few times too.

  • very nice video. wish i spoke german.

  • Cool video. I have sittin in this plane too here in Norway. It`s a plane with a lot of story.
