If an engineer looses the knack... he could end up as a business economist.

  • LOL!

    So true!

  • I resemble that.

  • LOL

  • we got shown this at the engineering fair at duxford today, it seriously explained my friend aaron

  • Isn't the doctor's voice Steven Wright? As in 'KBBL's super sounds of the 70s' Steven Wright from reservoir dogs?

  • Thumbs up if you have "the knack"

  • Is the "doctor" the same voice of Brain in "Pinky and the Brain" ?

  • .... ummm wouldn't most parents be happy if they knew their kid was going to be an engineer?

This is a great show and all but the logic makes no sense sometimes.

  • @RedoubtWolf you didn't get it may be because you have the knack... :P

  • @RedoubtWolf you are kidding, right?

  • @RedoubtWolf Humorous effect?

  • whata great film

  • Ads longer than about ten seconds suck, btw...

  • Thank you, so much. I can finally show my family and friends why I am the way I am. You are speaking for millions of us socially inept individuals. My sincerest gratitude ;)

  • How does the garbageman know so fucking much?

  • @Yooperthing access to unlimited supplies and information

  • @Yooperthing The garbage man is smart. He is clever enough to realise he can lead a fuller and less stressful life by not revealing his cleverness , which other people (his employers, if they knew of it) would exploit and capitalise on to his detriment.

If you're clever, keep it to yourself....Dont ask me how I know this!....

If you look at the Dilbert cartoons, he features in many of them.

  • @23565120 yeah, I know... I hate it that sarcasm is difficult to convey through text.

  • @Yooperthing Sorry I misconstrued your comment.. Sarcasm is difficult to put in print I agree, as is irony sometimes. ;-) Brilliant series of cartoons though!. :-)

  • @23565120

too true... Sick and tired of people asking me to for handyman stuff or to fix their computers... gahhh......

  • Whoever dies with the most radios wins! :-)

    - W3JKS

  • @jks19714 I might -by a short margin! HI HI . 73 Oh - do unfinished projects count? , -if so I win for sure!!.

  • I love how creepy the doctor is.

    "What do you mean?"

  • My old man's an engineer; I asked him today "So Dad, do you like ham radio?" His response was "Nope, But I love ham sandwiches!"

  • I think I have the knack, but only the part of social ineptitude, 'cuz I'm a loner.

  • Thumbs up if you have the knack.

  • that is old

  • IT WAS THE GARBAGEMAN!

  • *Baby sad about helicopter* Dillman: beep beep beep.*Kid laughs and is happy*

  • i prefer winning millions by engineering than a nickle for 24h social life

  • Hehe -- and when u have "the knack", but have studied something different than engineering? :-)

  • Yeah i have the knack too (i learned how to use a computer before i learned to talk) :D

  • @everybodyhatesmoin omg.......SAME!

  • My proof of the knack : Honors student at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with an Aerospace Engineering major and High Performance Vehicle minor. :-)

  • I "suffer" from the knack.

  • Oh and, as a wannabe physicist with a brother training to be an electrical engineer, I understand the knack. And @bryantherocker sorry to pick on you again, but where did reading law books that are easier than engineering books come into anything?!

  • @bryantherocker jeeesus calm down, that's the whole point!! The point is that only those who have "the knack" can be a true engineer. That's not entirely true, but there is not one thing in this vid putting down the intelligence of engineers, it's actually makin them sound cleverer!! Chill!!

  • He's an Engineer Ma'am, that means he solves practical problems.

  • @mastera1993 Just keep him away from people!

  • 1:40 That was nice of Dilbert

  • TF2))))))))))))))

  • OMG IT WAS THE GARBAGE MAN!

  • whats so bad about being a engineer

  • @zs500 Ain't about bad... is about how misunderstood is the profession of being an engineer... a world without engineers... would be chaos!

    to skip ads

  • Dilbert cartoon is CRAP !!!!! Not funny, the story is Crap !!! not entertaining even for 12 year olds and its Fucking stupid !!!!!

I read MD books and Law books and its fucking a whole lot easier to understand than Engineering books. Dont belive me, Try it !!!

Not everyone has the brainpower to be an True Engineer

  • @bryantherocker To be an true engineer... Way to go!

  • @brunossantos

    Sorry Typo :)

  • It's worst than I feared....

  • fuck.... i have the knack too.. i had my first electric shock in the age of 6, i was trying to prove the existance of grounding to my mother... now i'm an electrical engineer!!!

  • when hes a adult hes gonna say SPY SAPPEN MY TELEPORTER

  • Makin' bacon.

  • The garbage man is wise.

  • love dilby

  • Sentry Going Up!

  • lol he fixed the helicopter in 2 seconds :D

  • I cried and winced a little while laughing.

I used to put "MacGyver" on my job applications.

  • LOL

  • That garbage man is like the glue of the dilbert world.

  • If you have "The Knack" you find that everything in the world that is broken now belongs to you.

You also find that everything needs fixing somehow.

It is a curse to be blessed this way.

  • I am sorry, but I don't believe that this video is about Aspergers Syndrome!

  • If it isn't about Asperger's, then what could it be about? Having Asperger's myself, I know that that video comes suspiciously close to it.

  • I'm surprised no one has realized what this clip is really about.

"The Knack" = Aspergers Syndrome. I should know, being an

Aspergers adult, I sure remember what it was like being an Aspergers child.

  • Garbage Man's a pimp. no doubt.

  • "sigh . . .and utter social ineptitude." lol

  • Macgyver must have had this disease.

  • my dad's an engineer. It isn't so bad.

  • I don't think I have any such knack. I do handle software pretty good and OS operation, but nothing to get me a medal.

  • You get it when youre a kid; it has no cure, no treatment and it gets worst as you go older!! Thats the essence of an engineer! I COULDNT live without this disease :]

  • Indeed. I went from taking apart my dad's Nintendo at the age of 5 to taking apart his computer at the age of 7 to taking apart my car's engine at 18. Woohoo!

  • haha did you ever put it back together again?

  • Yup, this explains my life - right down to the helicopter at the closing of the clip. Check my vids...

  • I have the knack, I love it.

  • the music is great.

  • Such an awesome segment :D

"Will he lead a normal life?"

    "No he'll be an engineer."

  • Scott Adams needs to do more with "The Knack" in his comic strip.

  • yea its called "The Knack"

  • thanks you? yeah, what is the name of the episode?

  • what's the name of this episode? is it "the knack" ?
