Thank you, so much. I can finally show my family and friends why I am the way I am. You are speaking for millions of us socially inept individuals. My sincerest gratitude ;)
@Yooperthing The garbage man is smart. He is clever enough to realise he can lead a fuller and less stressful life by not revealing his cleverness , which other people (his employers, if they knew of it) would exploit and capitalise on to his detriment.
If you're clever, keep it to yourself....Dont ask me how I know this!....
If you look at the Dilbert cartoons, he features in many of them.
@Yooperthing Sorry I misconstrued your comment.. Sarcasm is difficult to put in print I agree, as is irony sometimes. ;-) Brilliant series of cartoons though!. :-)
My proof of the knack : Honors student at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with an Aerospace Engineering major and High Performance Vehicle minor. :-)
Oh and, as a wannabe physicist with a brother training to be an electrical engineer, I understand the knack. And @bryantherocker sorry to pick on you again, but where did reading law books that are easier than engineering books come into anything?!
@bryantherocker jeeesus calm down, that's the whole point!! The point is that only those who have "the knack" can be a true engineer. That's not entirely true, but there is not one thing in this vid putting down the intelligence of engineers, it's actually makin them sound cleverer!! Chill!!
Scientist are not limited to doing research, they can build things, Engineers are not limited to building and creating things, they can do research and lots of them discover new things, Google it !!! MOFOS :)
What The Fuck is This !!!!! Whats wrong in being an Engineer, I am an Engineer,
And I challenge MD Doctors, Surgeons and lawyers, Pilots or any Profession to an IQ Test
Let the smartest Lawyers, MD Doctors and Surgeons VS the Smartest Engineers.
You will see that Engineers brainpower are truly SUPERIOR !!! Were are up there with Physicists. The one of the Highest IQ ever recorded was that Physicist/Engineer Kim Ung-Yong.
fuck.... i have the knack too.. i had my first electric shock in the age of 6, i was trying to prove the existance of grounding to my mother... now i'm an electrical engineer!!!

They have a knack alright. I needed to replace a length of tubing the other day, and 2 engineers volunteered to replace it for me. Big mistake. It was like watching the keystone cops in action for over an hour (it would have taken me less then 10 minutes). In the process they removed a critical component (that didn't even need to be touched), and made a complete mess. It's quite the knack they have there.
You get it when youre a kid; it has no cure, no treatment and it gets worst as you go older!! Thats the essence of an engineer! I COULDNT live without this disease :]
Indeed. I went from taking apart my dad's Nintendo at the age of 5 to taking apart his computer at the age of 7 to taking apart my car's engine at 18. Woohoo!
