I think they were justifiably lenient. Yes, the son had smoked weed. Yes, he was citable for driving under the influence of it. But when caught and called on it, he was calm, honest, respectful, cooperative, and telling HER to calm down. They only ticketed him and let him go when they had every right to cuff 'n' cart him. I've been pulled over myself and let go because I was respectful, gave straight answers, and listened when they talked. Some cops are out for blood, yes, but attitude is key.

The mother's temper is probably why the boy felt compelled to smoke weed in the first place.

She was crazy, and he took responsibility. The boy does need better parents. Society wonders why so many kids grow up to be inherently bad, its not because they're black, poor, or the other, but because the parents suck at parenting period. And shouldn't have ever had kids but keep doing so.

I liked that kid. His mom was so defensive over something he did, and he at least took responsibility for his actions and was honest. He was calm and collected and followed instruction by the officers. That's all ya gotta do. His mother, on the other hand, should have just taken a chill pill!
