This looks to me like something that was trying to (and apparently succeeding at) capitalize on The Cosby Show, but the writers missed the point completely. I mean come on, The First Day of School? Cosby started out with that as well. But the difference is that The Cosby Show was actually funny and dealt with real issues in a clever way. Theo And The Joint is still one of my favourite episodes. And something else, Rudy was actually cute, the Olsen twins are scary as hell.
Never and I repeat...NEVER cared about this show back when it was shown in it's prime. I was aware it existed and I may have watched a few episodes out of boredom, but I have to blame the title of the show "Full House". My family lived in apartments all their lives and so am I right now. It's hard to fully relate to a TV series with a name that has a living condition that a majority of people can't afford to live in.
Oh god, as wrong/bad as the period speech was I am sitting here thinking "now, if I have a daughter in the future I SO want this to be the 'period speech' she sees/hears" as a joke speech sure but still it would be nice to show her this first before the 'real' speech. XD
NC, I am very dissapinted and pissed ay you for criticizing this great show that we have come to love and cherish like other late 80 and early 90s shows. Sure the jokes weren't funny, but we tend to enjoy it. It teaches us the value of family and friends and how to settle down problems. I'm sorry Doug, but for this video you don't deserve my like for this video.
@1218dtnb1 please, you are right, many people like this kind of stuff with the family friendly thematics and such, though there are many other people who cannot stand the blandness and cliché of this show that cannot help but to find it boring and totally lack of any kind of entertainment
@1218dtnb1 yea and i'm very "dissapinted" and pissed "ay" your misspelling. and plus I didn't love and cherish this show and I didnt tend to enjoy it. don't speak for everybody else
@1218dtnb1 Personally, to me, this show was bland. If it's on I'll watch it for the nostalgia, however. I find it hilarious when NC makes fun of a movie I've always enjoyed. NC is a critic; it's his job. You have your own opinion and don't have to agree with him, but lighten up and get a sense of humor. Idk you personally so I'm not here to judge, but being seriously pissed "ay" him for reviewing this makes you seem like a real stick in the mud, especially since this was a requested review.
One more thing, the only character on this show that was kind of entertaining was Kimmy. Like DJ, she got hotter over the years and she, at least, had a character. Why couldn't her and Steve Urkel meet in that one episode (if she was around at that time). That would have been hilarious!
I HATED this show after I grew up. It was lame and unfunny, but I wouldn't HATE it nearly as much if it wasn't for those fucking, untalented, unfunny, annoying, bitchy, shit-spitting, attention-hogging, horribly-acting, shitty-movie-making WHORES the Olsen Twins! OMG I've always wanted to KILL those 2 (seriously, all they did on the show was act like a bitch). They don't deserve one bit of the fame that they have (BULLSHIT)! I guess their mom was sleeping with someone.
It's good to know someone else hates this show too. Full House was one of the most boring shows I ever had the misfortune to watch. Nothing but phony pick up lines, boring story, and annoying running gags. What I hated the most was the audience. When this came on, I would just turn on my Nintendo 64 and play Mario Kart 64. At least that was more enjoyable.
I remember every time this show tried to do a serious subject, like when DJ gets eating disorder or Michelle's amnesia, and they just solve it in 20 minutes. In TV world, no illness is long term :)
I'll be honest this show was just a giant cliche and basically set the standards of a sitcom featuring a white family with a bunch of bad one liners and catch phrases. Still I did love this show.
NC is really a nostalgia cynic. Full House was never meant to be a though provoking supper witty show for adults so it's unrealistic to hold it to those standards. Full House was meant to provide morality stories to kids in a funny manner. The target age group was from elementary through middle school so don't look at it with the standards of a 30 yr old.
@SnrRaphaelTortuga I think he was a kid by the time this came out. And I think it failed at giving morals, because there were never any real problems to showcase how important they relate to human life.
ok i get it danny needed help with his kids when they are litlle.... but when they got to be 18 , 13,8 .... J3esse and joey needed to moe out and get their own lives
I highly doubt Doug ever REALLY gave this show a chance because there actually are some very funny episodes of it believe it or not. One of my favorite sitcoms ever! My youth!
okay first of all u need to stop being and asshole to everyone im sorry u dont have a life you just stop you calll joey not funny look at your self so go die
When I was younger, my sister actually liked this show which made us argue over the tv and what did my mother do? She told ME to stop and let my sister continue watching the show. Hell, my mother even watched it with her sometimes. Thank you NC for proving to me that I wasn't the only one who hated this show.
@colalicious1 I always thought Full House was just a boring waste of time and filler for my other favorite shows: That 70's Show, Martin, Good Times, and Gilligan's Island. It wasn't any different from the Brady Bunch and I hated that show.
@Kanevoorhees1 come onnnnnn how can you not like three guys raising children in san francisco and how they never bring up gay rights, implausible scenarios like one of the girls driving the car into the kitchen and then having Danny forgive them in less than an half hour, or that sweet sappy music to cue the important moral, or the hyped-up audience that squeal when anyone kisses *oooooh controversial!!* full house, family matters, saved by the bell. don't you love sitcoms that where still tryin

Nostalgia Critic is a hypocrite. You wanna know why? Because this show wasn't bad. Sure, it wasn't great, but it was pretty good. This show got undeserved heat from this guy.
@PuraPura4 How does that make him a hypocrite, this show sucks and was super cheesy. Even if you like it, it doesn't make other hypocrites for thinking it sucks.
@PuraPura4 so whose the bigger hypocrite, NC or FH? as I remember it, Full House was one of the most sexist shows on TV. if you watch it again, you'll notice it.
Oh, come on! I thought this was a good show. NC has bashed some good movies and shows that don't deserve negative criticism. Movies like Flubber and Casper, and TV shows like this have been given a bad rep by NC, and they don't deserve it in my opinion.
@RandomTalkingGamer really?! ur complaining about that why? first off, he didn't bash Pokemon the 1st movie. u dont have to be a fan to notice whats wrong. second, even avid Pokemon fans, like myself, would tell you that movie had its fair share of bulls**t like the part where Ash died and was revived by *Pokemon Tears*. and the message scene where they see the horrors of Pokemon Battling and conclude it's as terrible as cock fighting, only to make em forget that. the movie was a HUGE cop out.
@PurpleParrotLover Please. The show's most loyal audience base were teen girls who wanted to live those happpy lovey dovey lives you only find on TV. The show didn't do any better than Family Matters, and it tied with the episodes where Steve Urkel was absent. That is bad. I knew a lot of people that hated this show when it was out, and there were people who despised this show far before the critic even made a name for himself. I'm tired of people blaming NC for the hate. They were just bad.
@PurpleParrotLover Please. The show's most loyal audience base were teen girls who wanted to live those happy lovey dovey lives you only find on TV. I knew a lot of people that hated this show when it was out, and there were people who despised this show far before the critic even made a name for himself. I'm tired of people blaming NC for the hate. They were just bad.
@PurpleParrotLover I think people shouldn't take this guys opinion too seriously. I don't take it into consideration whatsoever when I go to watch a movie or TV show. I just watch his reviews for entertainment.
@PurpleParrotLover You just said it all. I know he's said that just because he hates these movies and tv shows, doesn't mean we should too but he has a tendency to make these reviews as if everything he says are facts rather than his own personal opinion.
That's the point of the character, and yes, he's a character. He's supposed to take the negative of the films he reviews and make them seem worse for our amusement. If anything, it's the fans who take him completely seriously take it too far. And no, Doug Walker does not think his opinions are facts, he just writes the Nostalgia Critic as a guy who thinks his opinions actually matter.
@windwaker0rules Um, no. I actually do think this show was good. I actually do think Flubber and Casper are good. It's my opinion. NC has his opinions too, and I'm okay with that. Everyone has opinions and they're entitled to it. However, sometimes NC goes a little too far with his opinions, and this review is a great example of that.
@PurpleParrotLover i was more joking but this show is a pile of shit in my opinion bujt i can see where ur coming from with the NC he can be a douche on this show however like his favourite movie hook its really not funny in my opinion
@PurpleParrotLover You have to remember that, with the critic, a lot of it is just schtick. He is playing a character in which part of the amusement value is his extreme reaction. There are only a couple of movies and series he has reviewed which I personally think are totally bad. This isn't one of them because, although I personally think its rather bland, saccharine and unfunny, its a prime time feel good family show, so theres only a limit to what they can do in that format.
@PurpleParrotLover He's just expressing his OWN opinion on this show, so you don't have to beat up on his opinion, we're all entitled to our opinions, if he doesn't like what you like that's OKAY.
@dolphincrescent54 People keep failing to understand that! I hate reading people bitching at NC because he's ranting on something they liked and get all butthurt in the comments. He's done countless movies that I liked, and thats fine, NC doesn't have to like it. Nothing is liked by everyone. Why is this logic so hard?
@That90sGirl310 I couldn't agree more lol. He's been pretty hard on movies that I liked, but I still think the reviews are funny. He has even said in the commentaries he's done that he doesn't actually hate all of the things he reviews, there's just a lot to make fun of when you really look at it.
Wanna know why it did so well? For me as a kid in the throes of puberty, it wa a filler follow-up to first, Star Trek, then Doctor Who, which was soon replaced by the far superior, Red Dwarf.
Why, you ask?
Filler. That's why. When I was a kid, there was no such thing as instant gratification. Filler.
Some problems were really serious like parental abuse, drinking, getting lost in a theme park with no particular comopany that owns it to try to make the show popular and ENDING UP ON A PLANE TO FREAKIN' NEW ZEALAND WITHOUT A TICKET OR YOUR PARENTS AROUND! HARMLESS PROBLEMS MY BUTT!
I liked the show. every sitcom i saw back than was centered around zany, dysfunctional families. full house may not have been that funny, but it was nice to see a show about a family that didn't have a lot o problems. felt like a less funny version of the cosby show.
Doug I respect you, really I do. But you're kidding yourself to think that nobody liked this show. If nobody liked this show, it wouldn't have made it past the 1st episode. I know plenty of people who LOVED the show including myself. It had a lot of very funny episodes with clever jokes. I wonder how many episodes of Full House you've even seen. You seem to only talk about the episodes in this video. And there are many more than just those ones. Try giving the show more of a chance.
@Mustlovemusic21 It's your opinion and I respect it as well, but I there were a large amount of people who disliked it as well. Save By The Bell was better and did better for sure, but it wasn't really that hilarious. I'm not going by NC's word, as I already hated this show before I even heard of him, but it was just the same boring basic humor found in iCarly. The jokes were just plain, nothing special like Fresh Prince and Boy Meets World.
If you took this show and combined it with Care Bears and My Little Pony, you'll get something so cute, you'll kill a german shepherd puppy and impale it on a spike.
that and me bit would have been a perfect time for "and my axe!"

@PurpleParrotLover I agree. I love Casper and Flubber. I also enjoyed watching Full House. There are WAY worse.
Pooky1991 1 month ago
@PurpleParrotLover I think people shouldn't take this guys opinion too seriously. I don't take it into consideration whatsoever when I go to watch a movie or TV show. I just watch his reviews for entertainment.
thequeenundisputed 1 month ago in playlist More videos from LeisureSuitRantFiend
@PurpleParrotLover You just said it all. I know he's said that just because he hates these movies and tv shows, doesn't mean we should too but he has a tendency to make these reviews as if everything he says are facts rather than his own personal opinion.
Mustlovemusic21 1 month ago
@Mustlovemusic21

The NC is a character and people are to blame for taking him too seriously.
NemesisSP 1 month ago
@PurpleParrotLover Well its NC's opinion, I think Flubber is terrible, but once again its just my own opinion, and your entitled to yours.

@PurpleParrotLover now thats a good joke kudos
windwaker0rules 1 month ago
@windwaker0rules Um, no. I actually do think this show was good. I actually do think Flubber and Casper are good. It's my opinion. NC has his opinions too, and I'm okay with that. Everyone has opinions and they're entitled to it. However, sometimes NC goes a little too far with his opinions, and this review is a great example of that.
PurpleParrotLover 1 month ago
@PurpleParrotLover i was more joking but this show is a pile of shit in my opinion bujt i can see where ur coming from with the NC he can be a douche on this show however like his favourite movie hook its really not funny in my opinion
windwaker0rules 1 month ago
@PurpleParrotLover You have to remember that, with the critic, a lot of it is just schtick. He is playing a character in which part of the amusement value is his extreme reaction. There are only a couple of movies and series he has reviewed which I personally think are totally bad. This isn't one of them because, although I personally think its rather bland, saccharine and unfunny, its a prime time feel good family show, so theres only a limit to what they can do in that format.
BelatedCommiseration 1 month ago
@PurpleParrotLover He's just expressing his OWN opinion on this show, so you don't have to beat up on his opinion, we're all entitled to our opinions, if he doesn't like what you like that's OKAY.
dolphincrescent54 1 month ago
@dolphincrescent54 People keep failing to understand that! I hate reading people bitching at NC because he's ranting on something they liked and get all butthurt in the comments. He's done countless movies that I liked, and thats fine, NC doesn't have to like it. Nothing is liked by everyone. Why is this logic so hard?
That90sGirl310 4 weeks ago
@That90sGirl310 EXACTLY MY POINT!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR UNDERSTANDING ME!!!
dolphincrescent54 3 weeks ago
@That90sGirl310 I couldn't agree more lol. He's been pretty hard on movies that I liked, but I still think the reviews are funny. He has even said in the commentaries he's done that he doesn't actually hate all of the things he reviews, there's just a lot to make fun of when you really look at it.
NeckTie92 3 weeks ago

Eh. I thought this show was okay. The first few seasons were really lame, but it got a LOT better in the later seasons.
