@abush5392 It's an SFR kit, I bought it used (from a 968) so wasn't that expensive. The performance improvement is very good, especially considering that there's more power to come with a little work.
I don't know of any off the shelf kits for the 944S, but I'm sure the SFR could be adapted.
However I would add I have a 944S as my every day car and don't think it will really be ideal with a centrifugal SC (for the road at least). The reason I think the SC works so well on the S2 is the engine has plenty of low down torque, and the boost comes in as revs rise giving a great power curve. The 944S is already a bit lacking at low revs, so using a roots blower instead might be a better idea.
Great going Peter. I had not seen any video before. I'm sure you've made some advancements since then but for a 1st outing that was brilliant!! Really nice smooth power and same for your driving. All looks very good and yes, I could tell there was just a little bit of red mist descending when that track car passed you.
How much horse power are you putting to the wheels with your set up? Also how many lbs of boost? Im looking at to sell my 1987 track preped 951 to build a supercharged 944. Thanks
It's not been on a dyno yet, but it's only running at 4psi at the moment which I believe will be in the region of about 270flywheel bhp. When I run 6-7 psi I'll get it on the dyno and see what it produces.
That is really good power your getting. I ended up finding a supercharging kit that produces 8lbs of boost that Ill be picking up shortly. Did you keep the factory Air Density Unit or did you go with a Mass Air Flow conversion?
Just a silly mistake, I didn't shave off enough speed before turning in, and had to brake through the corner which pushed rne further onto the marbles.
I was enjoying following the Ginetta race car through the traffic so much I may have got a bit carried away ;-)
All you can really hear is the intake noise on the video, which is masked with a crash helmet anyway. You'll have to try it on the road next time. it sounds quite different now. I'm not sure my hearing will ever be the same again after I drove home from the trackday and forgot to wear my ear defenders... Did sound good though!
I LOVE the chase between you and the TVR. Shows how much more power that SC gave you for your power to weight. Excellent video!

What kind of supercharger did you run and how much was the whole setup?
Is it very noticeable or was it too expensive?
Im thinking about installing one on my 84 944.

do you know where I can get a supercharger for a 944S? Is the 968 kit conversion hard to do?

@bandoboy32 We just got one with 100 miles on it from an '87 944S. PM me if you are serious about getting one. It'll be on ebay tomorrow.

So is this the only footage you've got...from 6 months ago? I always like seeing video of like minded individuals.
What tyres are you running in this video? Can't hear them much so they must be half decent.
When do you get out next? We're about a month away and I'm chomping at the bit...although technically I don't have a car yet haha.
Make sure to update your library when next out there Peter. I look forward to it. :)

Hi Patrick, the tyres are the excellent Toyo 888's.
I haven't got any trackdays planned at the moment, it'll depend upon work but I hope to fit a few in this year if I'm able.
I'm looking forward to seeing the footage from your next day, hope you get the car sorted though!

Funny place to get a wobble at 9.26

Nice footage Peter and the car went brilliantly. Hardly any supercharger noise from the inside
