  • wow had no idea Godber was Kate Beckinsales father.

  • Fantastic. Well worth buying on DVD.

  • Fantastic is porridge

    cheers for uploading

  • The acting at 4:00, where Fletcher has to explain where 'loins' are is remarkable ; the timing, the facial expressions and movements, the head scratching, hesitancy and delivery are crucial to the reality of the situation. Barker could have easily given it HALF his best or even overdone it, but no, it is the standard of work that he had to give which has made this show timeless and unique

  • I've got the three DVD's, if anyone is curious, this interview is on Series 1 Features. I love re-running the episodes while I browse the internet. Still, even after viewing the episodes God knows how many times, I still get a good laugh and a big grin watching them.

Not only R.I.P Ronnie, Richard Beckinsale and Fulton Mackay. All three great actors and Richard was taken way too soon in life. Fulton (played Mr Mackay) was a truly 'attention-to-detail' actor as Ronnie stated!

  • ive only discovered porridge cant wait to get box set

  • mackay: no body move! he is such a awesome prison guard lol

  • Ronnie Parker, greatest writer and comedian ever to have graced our televisions..R.I.P..I'm sure he's making god laugh in heaven

  • " Posthumous Knighthood for Ronnie Barker " on facebook

  • When you think of all the people who have been knighted who could not tie Ronnie Barkers shoelaces how come he was never given a Knighthood ???.. a true Genious

  • Adam, dont be a prick and get back in touch for god's sake.

    y.n.

  • Thank you for uploading this great piece of video. I haven`t seen this before. Oh how we all miss this great genius of comedy. Just discovered a statue of the great man has been unveiled in his home town of Buckinghamshire - quite rightly so.

I hope they do the same for my other favourite - Sir David Jason.

  • a true comedy great, i dread to think where british comedy would have ended up without ronnie barker's considerable contribution. god bless him for all the hours of timeless comedy that he gave us.

  • best ever R.I.P Ronnie

  • It's interesting to hear his insight. Not that he says anything surprising, but it's notable how much respect he has for fellow actors, and also how he is modest of his own achievement. 'it was all in the writing, I just had to say the lines' seems to be his judgement of himself. Yet he heaps praise on the other actors - did they just say the lines? No Ronnie, you were a great actor.

  • Ronnie Barker is a showman that loved his work and provided many hours of entertainment for people worldwide.

  • Pure comedy genious right here, god bless Ronnie, R.I.P.... :)

  • I didn't realise 'porridge' was slang for 'doing time'! No wonder that title never quite made sense to me!

  • Classic comedy, superb script.

Ronnie Barker showed that one could be famous and successful but also humble, unlike the majority of vainglorious people in today's celebrity culture.

  • My mum used to sit next to ronnie's son at school, she says she used to stick drawing pins on his sea lol :L, apparantly hes a paedophile now :/

  • He dead you idiot.

  • hes talking about his son.

  • No, there's no evidence that Adam Barker is a paedophile. I think he was just arrested by the police as part of Operation Ore, jumped bail and went into hiding. So the most we can say about him is that he's a suspected purchaser and viewer of illegal underage pornography.

  • Man he is just so funny.

Not was because he is still as funny now.

  • when was this made? Ronnie looks really well.

  • Legend. Miss you!

  • does any1 even know why fletch was in the slammer?

the best ending has to be the one, when he tells mister mcuy, about the soil and digging of holes,

he says to fletch whatdid they do ith the soil they dug up, fletch wants a bribe, and mcuy gives it to him, i cant rmember what, i think it was a chocolate bar or something, and fletch says,

they dug another hole and pu te soil from the first one into that one

    haha!!!!!

wtf did they do with the 2nd holes soil loool!!

  • it was for a swig of drink and the crime was burglary

  • he pinched a wagon

  • Fletch was in for nicking a lorry load of goods that he crashed through some gardens and got caught. An 'impulse' theft as he called it.

Mackay bribed Fletch with a half bottle of whisky.

The acting in Porridge is often overlooked. It was second to none, oscar worthy.

  • As Ronnie said it was a series for the Time capsule

  • Lovely lovely man - a true legend! The Guvnor and a well deserved title. I would have loved to have met the man that was partly responsible for shaping my personality as a child growing up in the UK

  • Legend.

  • Ronnie Barker_comedy genius!

  • what a lovely, smart guy ... just like ronnie c

  • hes an absolute ledgend! as is richard beckinsale! r.i.p.

  • Good Gracious is that the time....lmao at that

  • Yeah thanks for posting great interview

please upload any more interviews or episodes!

    thanks!

  • Thanks a lot for uploading. I've never seen this documentary before.

What a brilliant comedy, and indeed, what a brilliant comedian.

    R.I.P Ronnie
