just make it afortiable , for somone , that gets less then 1.000 dollers a month , cause not only the ritch should be able to aofrd 3d tv, us poor folk have every rite to enjoy the new tech in 3d tv. mind the typos!
Anyway, Philips have done it without the need for those dumb looking glasses. Now you can watch 3D TV using just your bare eyes! The freedom of direct seeing!
Search for it in the bearch sox. I mean search box!
i afraid film makers are going to put so time in 3D effects that the story will be weak or try to release more movies in theaters thinking everyone only care about the 3D and not the story.
How are people saying this is a fail quit living in a box. This is only the beginning just like HD 60hz, 120hz and 240hz. People probably said 120hz is bs but trust me watching a movie in 120hz is so much better especially gaming it's so much smoother graphics are much better looking. Quit thinking so negative just cause you don't have it, once you get it you'll see the improvments.
@rayd408 games aren't mainly about graphics. story and gameplay are most important. would you rather have a game with no story and below average gameplay, or a game that has less than mediocre graphics but has amazing story and gameplay? and I just want to watch a damn movie! why does it need to have more hz?
@rayd408 Yeah if you like your movies looking like they were done with a camcorder instead of looking like a movie.Movies themselves are shot at 24hz so 120hz just makes it look more cheap and jarring. The only thing 120hz benifits is live action sports 'but 3d sports would kick ass.
I have already used 3D twice at Sony Style. The first time I used it, I was not impressed. However, the second I used 3D I realized the power that this offers to the consumer. The 3D is NOT eye-popping! It seems more like a box where the action is taking place. There was clearly objects farther away and objects closer. The gaming community will be the most exposed to active shutter 3D with Sony's PS3. I hate all the spammers on YouTube that have never used it.
@jaythecommie not "real d" quality, you have to have true 120hz and above in order for it not to look glitchy, the glasses shutter.
I would honestly wait before getting one of these because there will be faster refresh rates on the 3d tv's in the future and all of these tv's will be droped in price, but then again afterwards there will be something better as always.
I saw Avatar 3d. Story was great 3d did not impress me. I will wait for 3d projection hdtv and when I design my home theater then I will jump on board. Unless the 3d games are awesome and then that could force me to pick up a new set. Right now my Samsung 50 inch plasma is great
Just heard on the news that theirs a new TV that is 3D and you don't even need glasses. Apparrantly it won't be available for consumers in Australia for another 12 months though
3D is good for selected action movies, but a waste for regular programming. you will end up getting bored seeing the same movies over and over because even if you're willing to spend massive amounts of money on 3D blue rays, will there be enough market for them to keep cranking out new ones. Forget about Cable or Fios, they're repeating the same craon all of their channels. Who wants to wear colored glasses when at home watching T.V. i cant see this 3D thing going far.
i think it would be so fun to watch tv in 3d imagine football? imagine a war documentery? exept not all channels will be in 3d i would only get it if most everything was.... glasses would get annoying but honestly i would buy it myself (im 15) just to see what its like because i know my parents would never get it
I'm excited about 3D TVs. I wouldn't want to watch everything in 3D, but would love to buy a 3D Bluray of Avatar or the upcoming Toy Story 3, throw on the glasses for a while and take advantage of the new technology. Besides, I need an excuse to buy a new TV.
@luckylikeu just buy an o-led tv beacsue the high def led and oled tv's will drop in price and stuff nuff said and the glasses are just like having gammarays in you;re eyes everyday
yea i agree it does look cool but i just dnt see it really succeeding unless they can come out with technology that would eliminate the glasses. plus i dnt think i always wana be watching 3d all the time neway. sure certain movies would be cool, but i heard tht 80 pro sports gms will be in 3D next year! tht sounds awsome but would it hurt ur ability to judge close calls. idk i cnt wait to check 1 out. we'll have 2 wait and see if they fail or succeed

SAY NO TO 3D

will they pay more? Of course, they've got money to burn.
are they going to be satisfied? I highly doubt it.
and a quiz for you all, when do you believe that HD television came out. here's a hint, if you say any year after 1995, you are wrong.

LOL.You guys know so little!.
If you all had done some research, you would all know that there are coming 3D TV's were you don't need to use glasses.
But in the beginning the 3D TV's that requires the use of 3Dglasses are going to be better at giving us the real 3D feeling.
But eventually ALL 3D TV's will be without glasses and still give perfect 3D.
I bet that in the 1950's when the color TV came out in the U.S., people were saying
"Why do we need color TV's, this is not going to catch on!"

If anything 3D TVs will push down the prices of HDTVs so it might make them
More afordable for people to get. I would love to see a 72in DLP drop down below 1k.

@Neoand12 you don't want to be buying 72in DLP's : (
