Wow looking at this video...it made me realize how filipinos can't cultivate our own resources for our own good and depend on other foreign influence to function in our daily life. We just did not take the initiative. I mean, people from iceland built better houses than us even though more than 3/4 of the year is covered in snow and ice. Where only a few supplies are ample and food is scarce. Compared to them, we really are pathetic for not using our brains.

The Filipino used to use his brains... but thats when he wasn't a Filipino. Indonesians and Malays are all in all Filipinos without the 350 years of Spanish indoctrination. Look at them: they're unplagued by things such as "bahala na", "pwede na" or crab mentalities, and they are very sure of their cultural, geographical, ideological and social identities. This is the foundation for their economic success. Yet the Filipino looks down upon them for lacking the "unique" identity the Filipino has..

Until Filipinos STOP looking abroad to determine their identity and purpose (working abroad: taking the easy way out, unlike our neighbors who stayed in their countries thru the bad times and now are reaping the benefits of a strong economy) and STOP blaming the govt for EVERYTHING and seek to replace them (our neighbours Thailand and Malaysia were under dictatorial rule and STILL managed to reach 1st world status!!), our country will remain like this for the foreseeable future...

There is a failure of our government in failing to provide jobs for its people,economy is a driving force,why people leave,we have no choice. Thailand and Malaysia cannot be considered as one of the big powers, they are just surviving, too like the Philippines. Right now the Philippines is better than the USof A because PI has no recession.
