Don at the end says, "Lets hear it for Reb Beach on the drum" Great solo Reb and George is great and this is a great solo by a great player. Nothing taken away from either player!
the bass player in his own world over there, and Rebs retarded faces make me want to come back and watch this over and over....check out the KISS influence at 2:22
..also to whoever says Winger was a waste of time, go back and listen to their last 3 releases.. they were as good as anything out there.
@bluetiege No band like winger should be called crap.. although i share your opinion about whitesnake, even the crappy bands of yesterday wayy outplay todays.
Yeah, he was awesome, they were at the House Of Blues down here in Orlando when Erase the Slate came out. Don't go into that album expecting the controlled stiff he did with KIp Winger, the dude will rip your ears off!
I still like his guitar playing but I liked his 80's style better. He had more style, you gotta admit, it was more energetic. This sound kinda lazy compared to something like Black Magic.
BTW, I have always found funny how people argue about Kirk skills hahaha... I really really laugh about all those guys that say that Kirk sucks. I bet Kirk is WAY BETTER than all of us combined. I even read some poor guy here that says "Shit, I'm better than Kirk and James"... lmfao!... haha, how stupid is that?! I don't see any videos from him playing his guitar so WE ALL could say if he's actually better or not than Kirk and James.. btw, he's nobody in the music industry, Do you know his name?
I still favor G Lynch anyday, but I do give this dude props for what he did with Winger,Dokken and Whitesnake and definitely feel he has to fit into my top ten of hard rock players!...Sorta reminds me of George,Eddie and a combo of Jake E. combined and that's what seperates players is to sound like a few different enfluences and not exactly like a single player or dead on Geo,because we would all yawn and say we've heard this style before!...Reb can Rock!
Reb says Hammett's vibrato is amateurish, but I'm not blown away by Reb's... I like the rhythm supporting Hammett's "solos" (read: Ride the Lightning). Reb might seem a little more at ease during his playing (despite the ridiculous faces, Trujillo), but nothing that I'm hearing warrants the bashing he gave Hammett.
@JWallsID6999 No offense but do you play?...Hammett in the same league as this dude and some of the 80's players?...It's cool and it's opinion, but kirk yawns me with fast and no feeling, but hey I do think they write great chord progressions!
WhEn I saw Whitesnake Reb was good. And Doug Aldrich was AMAZING The dueling solo was OWNED by Doug. not even close! and Coverdales vocals were SHIT!!!! They quit the tour a week after I saw em in Costa Mesa!
I saw Reb in Dokken when they toured with Poison, Cinderella and Slaughter in the summer of 2000. In terms of sheer musicianship, they mopped the floor with the other bands on the bill. Mick Brown always had a thunderous and rock-solid drumming style too.
Not impressed. Bunch of senseless notes. Hey, why not write a solo that sounds good... a la Satriani? This kind of shredding gives me a headache. I like to hear a solo that has a beginning, middle, and end...
@ardnega Seems like Doug Aldrich took most of the leads while he and Reb were in Whitesnake. Would've been fair if they split things 50/50, since they're both competent players, but I guess that's the way the cookie crumbles.

Reb has played in Alice Cooper, Fiona, Dokken,Winger, and currently in Whitesnake. He also was in a band called The Mob from last year which was just a CD they did.
End of 1998 to I think 2001. He is on one CD Dokken's "Erase The Slate" that came out in 1999. The solo that you saw here with him is him playing in Dokken. You should check out this whole DVD - Dokken "Live From The Sun" it kicks ass with Reb.
@Dan72770 So you mean Reb Beach replaced George Lynch?!... Wow!

@tigercrap:
What you are referring to is an instrumental piece, not a solo.
What this guy is doing, is what any other great guitar player does when in concert: "SHOW HOW ACCOMPLISHED THEY ARE WITH THE INSTRUMENT".
If you want to see something "A la Satriani" go check Reb Beach playing Black Magic, or check him out playing with Winger.

This is from the Dokken - Live From the Sun DVD. Go buy it instead of watching the crappy quality youtube vid.

I saw Reb in July (first time live)and remained dazed. Had the fortune to be in the first row-"under" him and he gave me his plectrum, taking care to put it personally in my hand(after he finished his kick ass solo)and blinking&smiling me from time to time. Awsome guitarist and human being
