So we're at 8 Joints smoked, now, before he smokes two, he smokes two, and then smokes two after those two, so everytime he smokes 2 joints, he really is smoking 6 joints.

8joints (morning, night, afternoon) x 6 (smoke two joints before I smoke two joints, and then I smoke two more) = 48 Joints smoked on this day.

8 x 6 = 48 Joints.
