I got a question, Apple won't let me download Quicktime 7, because I have quicktime x ...I deleted Quicktime X, but it still says I have Quicktime X...I really want to convert my mp3 to aiff files.

@marvin8479 You need to download quicktime 7. The new quicktime will not let you.

Thanks so much, I tried both ways to import and did find an issue with the first way, however, importing with the conversion of Aiff was the easiest and least problematic path for me to import the music file into the timeline. Thank you so much for the million dollar fcp/itune file education.

You don't have to open Quicktime. You can create an AIFF version from within iTunes, show in finder, then put it into you FCP project.

FCP/FCE not being able to take MP3s is just snobbery on Apple's part. Converting to AIFF is an unnecessary hassle. Naughty Apple.
