  • Hello Pls Pls can you post some tabs cos you rock bruv !

  • where's waldo?

  • All I gotta say is thank you for sharing your extraordinary, incredible talent. You play funk, blues, soul, and even rock with the best of them. Bravo

  • Even better,.. you found Marlowe!!

  • Looks like that video from Patituci - James Jamerson style!! Motown stuff. Great vid.

  • What a great tone you have and that groove is spot on.

Love that T-Shirt too - veryFrench!

  • Always one of my favorite bassists to watch, but I'd like to see what you can do on a Spector bass. Guess I'll have to make a trip to Denmark to find out and bring one with me, eh?

  • smooth..

  • It really doesn't sound all that much different from his jazzes to be honest. It has a bit more growl and is a bit cleaner but honestly if you think they sound that that much different you may be seeing a bit more with your eyes than what you're hearing with our ears.

  • lol "Crappy warick"

    Righht.

  • oxymoron eh

  • Love the bass face, great groove

  • As always your vidsare a great source of inspiration . Flawlessly played, beautiful tone and very clearly demonstrated.

Keep on the good work !

  • lol nice shirt.

  • sick dude you rock keep making those funky vids

  • love when he turns to the screen to show the bass and play really slowly. That help me a lot! thanks!!!

  • im watching all ur videos man keep up they're great

  • Greatly Appreciated!!! Thanks a lot. I was wondering if you had anything to deal with 5-string basses and the issues that arise with the spacing of the strings when slapping and plucking. Once again Great stuff man!!!

  • I found Waldo!

  • where's Waldo lol

  • What kind of bass is that?

  • A warwick Jazzman

  • Warwick Streamer LX in fact.. can see it on the end of the neck :P

  • So wash your eyes, its a Streamer Jazzman, look at the Pickups.

  • @bassbenni oops, your right... should have looked closer. if warwicks look wasn't so sexy it could be annoying they mostly look so similar :)

  • not a fender

  • something about that 'red striped shirt' that seems 2 set off the groove even nicer Thomas!.haha-

  • great groove. you look like a bass playing sailor in the russian navy or something.

  • Marlowe, I love ALL your videos. It has inspired me to pick up my bass again.

I have 2 questions for you. What kind of strings are you using on this video? You obviously are a professional. Where can we hear some of your professional work?

  • To Bookoflsaih:

The strings are DR Black beauties, but ill have to repeat what i always say: It makes no significant difference - All round wound strings sounds very alike - the core of the bass sound is not in the strings! People ask to the strings so many times its funny, and I often forget what brand is on my basses - i cannot hear the difference! BUT, strings are very different - playing and feeling wise. For instance i DONT like Black beauties - lol! (they were on when i bought this bass)

  • Thank you, MarloweDK. I agree that the strings aren't the main source of tone. That comes from the heart of the player! I was just curious because I had never seen them before. Also, thank you for the information concerning your pro work. You are fantastic and I'd like to hear more of you work. Thank you also for inspiring me to pick my bass back up again.

  • Unfortunately the heart doesn't pluck the strings. However a huge part of the sound comes from the fingers and the way the strings are plucked.

  • hey marlowe

why dont you do your bass covers of songs anymore?? I LOVED those. If youre worried about copyright, you just need to indicate in the info area that you have posted this video for enjoyment purposes only and that no copyright infringement is intended.

  • Not good idea. Be Original is Better and more educative for us.

  • he can do both.

    Both are educative for us.

  • For some of my pro work there is some links to albums on my channel page

  • You make it look so easy! Awesome groove!

  • heey marlowe !could you do more grooves like these ?

    very useful !

    Greetings

  • Just dive into my collection of videos - you will find many..

  • Great playing, great streamer!

  • quality

  • I love your videos - you've got great variety in terms of style and your grooves are almost universally tasteful and (maybe most importantly) fun to play!

  • Smooth (:
