@eleanorayoulateagain - yeah, I know more than the average person of my age about the old actors but I never even heard of Martha Raye before. Reminds me of a queer (in more that one sense of the word) English "professor" I had at a community college (getting credits during the summer - attended a University in the regular season) that had this elaborate story of seeing Marlene Dietrich during her waning days.
No one really but to give u a idea he was married to a older comic names Martha Raye she was a very very funny woman. He was a pretty GAY guy and married ehr to get to her money. She was WAY and many years older then he and he was a gay guy who married a older woman who was sick and talked her into having nothing to do withher daughter. She had a stroke and that was a gateway for him to take advantage of everything. When she died he married a another older woman who was a stroke victim.
