In a way, this is the first we see of the real Bree. Throughout Season 1, she was this utter perfectionist who would always act and seem perfect in every way possible. Rex's death obviously changed that, for the old Bree would have never been caught in such an imperfect situation like shown here. She would have never acted like that in front of everyone, changing Rex's tie in his coffin. :)
