  • If they were playing in my backyard, it would be a great party!

  • OH DEAR GOD I forgot how good this one is. BADASSERY BEYOND ASSHATTERY!

  • Awesomeness, thy name was and is D. Boon, Mike Watt and George Hurley

  • Fucking great!

  • I saw one of their very first shows in a gazebo in a little obscure suburban park in Torrance where they--true to their name--had a big clock "onstage" that they used to timed the songs at exactly one minute. There was about 15 people attending!

  • Not many people know this but the sky in Lomita, California IS actually neon green

  • @mohawk1020 I never noticed that--perhaps influenced by the light at the harbor! There is a lot of neon on old motels on PCH though!

  • @mohawk1020 Ahaha, very true as I use to traverse the the side streets of San Pedro in my bigwheel back in the 70s and witnessed the very same sky!

  • i was born classic people rock not knowning up late

  • this is the blues

  • @Witek84 hells yeah dude few beers in my belly and i'm a jumping around fool for the minutemen jumpin' johovaa witness

  • After all the hard core punk and quirky pop songs from weird limey bands in the 1980's, the minutemen album double nickels on the dime was a breath of fresh air. I wore mine out in 1986 and later

    1980's. Damn good stuff.

  • No Doubt... My Favorite Minutemen album is Double Nickels... Now... you got to admit... They really did have a slew of Kickin' EP's... Buzz or Howl... What Makes a Man Start Fires... BUT... Double Nickels was... and still is... Incredible...

  • so many... periods... most awkward.... comment... to read.... ever.... reminds me... of stevie.... from malcolm.... in the middle...

  • Listen to Papa Baloo!

  • Good point Mikewines68.....very good point....this is my second favorite chubby guitarist/singer/songwriter.......Frank Black is #1....I'm #3....LOL

  • goddamn shame boon left us prematurely. These guys were so way past everythingelse!

  • I wish they would have come to Memphis. I was hanging out at the Antenna Club back in the early & mid 80''s.

    ~~BURRRPP~~ wow, excuse meee.

  • car crash. :(

  • ▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲▲

    American punk at it's finest!!

  • idolos de la vida y la musica

  • RIP D. BOON - 12-22-05

  • ...don't you mean 85..

  • haha spastic

  • RIP D.Boon

  • I have met Mike Watt, but still I am wondering how much of these 'pro shot ' videos are like...wow!!! they really did it!!! Gotta get that book "Our Band Could Be Your Life" and re-read it again. I also sugest you all read this book, Minutemen fans!!! D. BOON R.I.P.

  • Imagine having the Minutemen playing in your backyard!?

  • @f1i2s3c4h5e6r7

That'd kick more ass than D. Boon fallin' out of a tree on ya (lol!!!!!)

  • @f1i2s3c4h5e6r7 I went and sat on my back deck and stared at my backyard for about 10minutes imagining them playing there. fuck I'm high

  • Awesome song. Double Nickels on the Dime was one of the best double albums ever made. Lucky enough to have seen them at a small Eugene art gallery show in the early 80s, almost nobody there.

  • i love this song. it was the first song i learned to sing and play guitar to. D. Boon is my hero and nobody was more punk then he was. the good always die way to young. r.i.p d.

  • One of my favourite songs of all time, performed by one of the best bands of all time!

  • The minutemen are sick

  • Saw them many times in LA back in the day and as much as I loved them it seemed like so many shows were attended by a disproportionate number of idiots. But like Rollins said just an absolutely smokin band.

My favorites have to be the Gringo/Product/Little Man EP side.

  • D. Boon lives on.

  • 1984 saw them open for rem, did not know them well, but i remember they rocked, i was hooked, then d. boone died, and it sucked!!

  • These guys always remind of what's good out there. Thanks for posting this. Some of the all-time greats of any type of music.

  • One of my al-time favourite bands. Shit I love these guys, wish I could have been aroud to see them.

  • George is wearing a Traxx t shirt from the show I remember seeing them play in Detroit. The problem was there were so many idiots in attendence who thought they were a harcore band, went a mile over their heads. Saw them year before play a small VFW hall, may have been one of the best shows I have ever seen. yeah.

  • you lucky son of a bitch... i'd hate you if i didn't want to shake your hand, buy you a beer and hear all about it. lol.

  • Nothing like the Minutemen.

  • My favourite Minutemen song. We miss you D Boon.

  • SST RULES

  • i'd say the best roster ever in the history of rock music.

  • i'd agree- only the pixies came close

  • GOD DAMN!! i just want to hug someone right now, JAM ECONO EVERYDAY! :-)

  • You are in the right state of mind...keep it real

  • They remind me a lot of Pere Ubu. Or would it be more appropriate to say that Pere Ubu remind me a lot of the Minutemen?

  • Such a great song!! They are srely missed!

  • how so?

  • makes my head hurt to think how good they were

  • Eh not my kinda stuff; But I can see that Boon and Mike are fairly talented.

  • In this video Boon looks a hell of a lot like one of the guys I work with at a restaurant. This song is by far one of their best I think. That riff kicks ass.

  • Boon, Watt, Hurley.

    Nope. I can't deny it. They ROCK(ed)

  • telecasters sound awesome no matter the context, be it indie, country, jazz or whatever.

by the way, d. boon rules!!!

  • There is elements of everything in their sound.

  • Some compare their music to funk-if you listen to the beat, it does hav elements of funk in it

  • Where was this shot? Reminds me of backyard parties in Pedro - damn, look how young D was!

  • They're from Pedro

  • Brilliant band!!!!!!!!!!!

  • D. Boon, only musician I like more than Dylan.

  • brilliant band

  • love videos from this show

  • George and The Unit!

  • thanks.

  • fuckin awesome...rip D Boon

  • Very talented band.

    R.I.P.- Dennes Dale Boon

  • Nice to see a live version of one of my favorite tracks of the group in that setting. The band sounded great live, particularly D's guitar. The performances were kinda raw and a bit discordant, but overall the band rocked.

  • greatest band ever

  • d was the fuckin man

  • Check out Georgey's little white afroe puff!!! lol Hey the reunion @ the waters club a couple years was off the f'ing hook!!!
