Stupid American here. I keep seeing all these damn comments about how Mei and Gabu are gay, and how America is brainwashed or some such rot. Well to be honest, I don't see it. At the most I would call their friendship a bromance, and that's not gay. Hell, I've had one or two myself. Gabu, unlike a goat, has to kill to survive, and Mei is having to face that reality... and doesn't like it. Gabu knows this and tries to hide what he's doing.

It's actually a very poignant scene. The friend Mei has given up EVERYTHING for is a killer and ALWAYS WILL BE.

It's a bit of painfully harsh reality to remind us that Mei and Gabu really ARE different, their "perfect friendship" really isn't so perfect... so did they make the right choice in sacrificing everything they had for it?

See, Mei apologized for that later I believe. He may have meant getting them in to trouble, but may have meant the line of smack against Gabu for him being a carnivore. It's a terrible feeling for Mei because he knows that he can't change him, no matter how sick it makes him.

Still, he is looking past that. He was far more concerned with the positives and the similarities their relationship had and their bond. Far more important than nature. Friends.

I agree, its just friendship guys, I know this is a bad example but think of it as Zero and X from Megaman X seires.. they were close friends and fought for peace.
