I stopped using samples in favour of synthes. Trouble was, when you tune the pitch, it never tells you what key the sample is, only the rate is given. Makes it hard to tune into the actual lead and melody :-(

when i try to pitch most of my kicks using the sampler i get a sort of gap in in tail where the volume goes down for a really short period of time, this gap can also be seen in the wave form. any ideas how to solve this? because monophonic kick pitching gives a better result usually

i use a plugin called kontakt to pitch my kicks all i do is cut the kick so all i have is the bassline then i put it in kontakt and use a thing in kontakt called tone machine then i just layer the bassline with a tok it sounds abit more pro

my experience ... if you have split the sample in punch and tail or body i prefer changing the pitch from the sample vie pianoroll not via the pitch know

I make a bass with hydra, turn it to a sample on the note it sounds best (f4, g4, etc)

then I put it in the sampler with the root note as previously said.

but I rarely do this because that sampler is a bit meh.... so I keep it in hydra

Easiest way. But makes your kick sound like crap if you do it in the shitty sampler that comes with FL.

But how do I know in an accurate way on what notes I need to put the pitch knob when I dont know th enotes of the bassline? I dont want to do it only by hearing because I can never be 100% sure than.

yeh, I used this way too earlier, but it a bit sucks. Cuz on high notes kick loses its distortion - I mean it sounds "plainy". 'I prefer my way of pitching kicks
