Yes I am angry that no one saved Tim's life but in all honestly if he did show signs of cannabalism and had no expression on his face while he was doing the act as the passengers stated in their reports then it does point to him having a mental illness. Clearly he has a mental disorder along with Andrea Yates. Cannibalism is not normal, no human can do it unless your mentally insane. Therefore, the decision was the right choice. i mean the bus was one of those non stop rides and the people had been stuck on the bus for over 18 hours so im sure they were very tired and fatigue played a role.
However there is a limit, they all basically watched it all go down, a trucker came in to try to stop Li but he apparently froze and didnt wanna get involved.

To be honest, I think he IS sick.. Speaking as a medical professional myself. Auditory hallucinations are a key player for many ppl like Li. Yes I am angry that no one saved Tim's life but in all honestly if he did show signs of cannabalism and had no expression on his face while he was doing the act as the passengers stated in their reports then it does point to him having a mental illness. Clearly he has a mental disorder along with Andrea Yates. Cannibalism is not normal, no human can do it unless your mentally insane. Therefore, the decision was the right choice. Also, the mental disorder defense does not work, it usually fails a lot of the time. They have to go through extensive interviews and tests to be deemed criminally irresponsible.

Whats scary is that the cops, when they arrived had a chance to end this guy's life. I know about the rules, but the rules and the law never seemed to stop them before. They don't have a problem of picking on the drunks, homeless and the weak of society. They kill people who hold a hammer or even a stapler ( Vancouver airport incident) , but they let a guy live who just decapitated somebody with a goddamn knife! They waited 4 hours! i mean the bus was one of those non stop rides and the people had been stuck on the bus for over 18 hours so im sure they were very tired and fatigue played a role.
However there is a limit, they all basically watched it all go down, a trucker came in to try to stop Li but he apparently froze and didnt wanna get involved.

I think the law is bullshit. I mean he murdered the person, doesnt matter if he didnt know if it was right from wrong, this person is insane, and does not deserve to live anymore. He should be sentenced to death.

People, are you REALLY surprised? Most of the time, the "justice system" is the INJUSTICE system. It seems the people who get locked up and punished to the max are guilty of a crime far less severe. The people who deserve the harshest sentence get a slap on the wrist and are let go to roam the streets!

The Canadian Justice System for that cased really PISSED ME off, and yet Im from Winnipeg, Canada. It just gives an excuse for the next Vince Li to repeat history and do the same shit over again when i heard the verdict that he wasn't responsible for his actions, whenever he gets out of the Selkirk MB (@ the Mental Hospital) it wouldn't surprise me that someone would kill him, shoot him. or do whatever. It just gives that person a reason to say GOD told me to do it like WTF [RIP Tim McLean]

the thing is...The Canadian Justice System does not have Death Sentence unlike the neighbors to the south. I hear in Texas they have the Chair, California they have the Gas Chamber or Injuction something like that, all the figured out was how he feels and what his mind does. Does a room full of pillows will help? maybe to get a good night sleep will do so nice long story short Canadian Justice System sucks in this case

I hate that he only got the mental, you know i watched this ep. on medium and this guy payed a doctor for mental people to teach hi how to be schizo and mental, and he could have gotten away with it too... He should have been sentenced.... being sentenced only in degree murders is not as bad as the death penalty, do they even still do that? neway he should have gotten a more strict sentence

I can see it now the Hollywood Entertainment will in fact do a movie (plot) -about a kid who was working for a carnival, lets call it North America Midway Entertainment [N*A*M*E] he was on his way home after working for Calgary Stampede, he chats with a person next thing you know he's decapitated...fight for justice is fucked after months and he's ready to be set free. the movie industry can role on that... they made a movie called Bully (released 2001) so why not this story?
