  • A nice arrangement for easy listening but the Larry Clinton arrangement is really something to listen to.

    Thanks for this posting,

    Joe

  • ((Sigh))..................

  • A very romantic melody.

  • what no vocal, could not believe it. i want clinton/wain maybe hillary (joke) ROGHARM

  • I have the Larry and Bea version posted too but no Hillary on my channel. I had enough of those two in the 90's.

  • Actually Paul Whiteman was hailed as the best band leader of the 1920's and had 28 number 1 hits. Bix Biederbeck was phenomanal also, but passed away at a very young age. Paul has his rightful place in vintage history and he was amazing.

  • Whiteman was an innovator and his sound was always sophisticated and original. He is one the best in my opinion, glad you like him too.

  • Bello, Bello!

    Thanks for posting!!

  • Have you listened to this same song by Larry Clinton? See my other post for it.

  • What a pretty arrangement. Ya know, alot of people don't give Whiteman credit for his 1930's orchestra. They remember the band that did Rhapsody and Bing and Bix and so on. But his 30's band was just as good. It wasn't a swing band in the category of Benny Goodman but for good, all around dance music no one could touch Paul Whiteman.

Very nice, thanks for posting this.

  • Thank you and great comments too.

  • You sure can tell when they switched to electronically amplified recording.

Great quality for an old recording.

  • I agree - great sound for its time. Electronic amplification came out about 1925 or 26. But by the late 30's it was even more improved. Too bad the depression put a damper on sound recording technology. Columbia was experimenting with long-play 33 1/3 in early 30's - but no money was available for developement. We had to wait until after WWII for LP.

  • Beautiful!!

  • I am glad you liked it my friend from Brazil.

  • A most enjoyable rendition of this lovely melody.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • Always my pleasure to share the great Paul Whiteman. Hope all is well for you lately.

  • Beautiful!!!

  • Glad you liked it. Nice to see you around again.

  • See we've all missed you darling. pax41 has as well.

  • Bob, This is absolutely beautiful and SUMS UP MY LIFE. I am always DREAMING. It is so romantic, the heavenly melody has beguiled me. I LOVE IT! A million thanks and I am sending you a gazillion glistening stars in Little Elm for your enjoyment tonight. :-)))

  • I like this piece a lot too. Fred mentioned the Bea Wain piece and now I would like to hear it. The flip side is good too and will post soon.

  • I'm shocked that the Larry Clinton version of My Reverie with Bea Wain is not on you tube. It was a number one song. I have it but not on Cd.

  • I found where several people requested it. I will try to see if I can find a copy to post.

  • On its way, my friend... check your mail. I prefer this version anyway.

  • Thanks P! You like the Whiteman version better?

  • I admit I do.

  • I think this one too is just a bit better. I like the other one too.

  • I'm afraid I would have to give Clinton the edge on this one because of the Bea Wain vocal

  • The vocal on the Clinton version is a plus but I think this arrangement is a bit better.

  • Nice version of a hauntingly beautiful song. But the Larry Clinton with Bea Wain is the standard. One of the greatest arrangements of all time.
