  • I don't know the lead singer's voice, but the emotion he sings with is crazy. In a good way, of course.

  • This is amazing. Show this to a friend.

  • chairmen of the board were awesome, get their greatest hits double album, its got alot of good songs on it.

  • awesome

  • @rayclarke123 That is a good looking hunk of man--surely you jest-

  • @patc2000 Sadly he's no longer with us =(

  • This televised session on the Wash., D.C. mall also included, of course, "Give Me Just a Little More Time". That's the way I heard and saw it first. General Johnson has a bit of Screamin' Jay Hawkins eye intensity - but you still want to hang for a good time. Great 'Pepsi Generation' stuff. And that has to be John Hartford with an intro at the very start.

  • General, we miss you. Thank you for giving us such good music. I jam this song all of the time and I love this more every single time I see your videos. The year was 1970 and you didn't give a damn about the race issues from what I see in this video. If there is a Heaven, I hope I can rock out with you there one day. Rest in peace my friend.

  • NOT AT ALL UGLY

  • Cool!

  • Shake a tail feather!

  • He had a great fro. If I was a black guy, I'd have a fro just like that.

  • At least inthose days all you got to see was the flash of a gussett. In these enlightened times one gets to see what the young lady thinks of Brazil!

  • @WuffWuffOhFlashy HAR! LOL...good point, and this was very racy for 1970.

  • thanks for saving this, the good old days when people danced and sang about important things.

  • Dancin is freakin sweet!

  • the general!

  • the skirt shots looked OK to me ;)

  • people look so much happier and healthier.

  • The lip syncing isn't great either. lol Groovy baby. Love the American Flags. RIP General! We miss ya. You'll always be young here.

  • Quality!!!

  • somebody tell me why the camera underneath the girl skirt at 1.14

  • @wildcherry171 Wow it was like a millisecond.....your a pervert or a perverted lesbian or am I the perverted one for responding to this? Great Music gets great conversation.

  • @DizzalRizzal i just thought it was kind of awkward the camera man had the

camera under the girl skirt, that's all. With that name, I am guessing your gay or you just shady??? Usually gay people respond back....

  • sound

  • thanks so much for posting this!

  • love it, love it! I remember when it came out in early 1970, and all those clothes were what folks were wearing at that time.

  • a great Holland-Dozier-Holland song!

  • class group, great memories

  • Thanks for the Music General

    You were the Best

    RIP

  • RIP my Friend! You were the best!!! Good luck Ken! I know you and General's wife, Julia want the memory to live on, as do I! All the best to you my friend!

  • Thanks so much for showing this brilliant video and song...........wonderful memories indeed.

  • Let's tell the truth, this man had good videos before videos were a thing of modern day releases of a song. And this one would've sold more records than he had sold on this masterpiece. I damn sure wish I was in this video before any of the modern videos that are released. General Johnson was a Gangster Rapper and a Rock Star before his time! I love you, General! You kick some serious ass!

  • R.I.P General...(only just found out that he'd passed). Will always be a part of my music affection/collection. Love Chairman of theBoard...

  • Brrrrrrrrrp! Godspeed General!

  • Eddie Curtis does look out of place, Shortly after the UK tour I believe he split, Also Harrison Kennedy went back to blues IIRC Norman never forgotten

  • RIP, General Johnson

  • I grew up with your Music, General Johnson. Your influence in my personal likings for music is real heavy. Rest in Peace and may someday we can rock out in the Universe. We love you and we will miss you!

  • Man I feel sideswiped! I have looked for footage this great for ages and now that I finally do get to experience that joy (~ this video was a blast and well worth the wait~) I find that General Johnson has gone on to his reward. Always have and will celebrate the joy of his singing, his writing as well as his productions. Bittersweet indeed!........................(on a faraway distant cloud of soul..... "Ahhh.... Paradise!) Rest In Peace Norman! Thank you!

  • RIP

    Great memories

  • Thanks for all the memories General. You will be so missed from the guys & ALL your fans. Rest in Peace now.

  • RIP General!

  • them som groovy chicks w jungle feva

  • Love this old video....one of the very first!!!!

  • yes it's a brilliant film clip! love the girls clothes. it's really provocative, but in that era there was a lot of provocative stuff. I remember it well. ahhhhhhhhhhhh........

  • From this promo film, it looks like Eddie Custis was already considered an extra limb. He's only seen very briefly at 1:29 and he doesn't look too happy. The other three guys look like they're having a ball, and they're the ones we see in most of the shots.

  • @tibiafinger

lol That's Harrison Kennedy original Lineup Norman, Eddie, Harrison and Danny

  • I think this has to be the greatest music video of all time haha

  • Ken Knots on the Congos?

  • Nice Quick Booty Shot @ 1:23

  • Oh yeah- they would have to wear the same clothes also.

  • I think it would be funny to have these same people reunite to dance in front of the Washington Monument NOW. I would pay to see some of these geezers hoofing like this!

  • Perfect, thanks a lot!

  • D.C. A GO-GO!

  • The Washington Monument

  • What is that monolithic building in the background?

  • Great visual clip. Seems the whole cast was really enjoying themselves.

  • Awesome !!

  • OMG - This is fantastic - never thought I'd see a proper COTB clip on yt. My favourite soul group EVER. General Johnson you da man!! Thank you so much for sharing.

  • Early Chairman of the Board. Those people are not Shaggn and I think they had something other than beer! I think a Mosh Pit is about to break out! LOL

  • This is a fabulous example of HDH switching around musical pieces. This US 45 version has no strings in the middle for example....the album version (ie the UK 45 version) has strings.

  • He, General Johnson looks like Sean Puffy Combs to me.

  • Fabulous to see it so clear.....WOW thanks

  • They should be shagging! This is beach music!

  • @kodiakfred140

Are you aware that "shagging" has another meaning in the UK.....if shagging was going on here, this video would only be allowed on x-tube!

    *smile*

  • @theboyfromxtown Yep. I have heard that. Sort of funny how different words can have different meanings in the same language!

  • Real beach music !!! East Coast Beach style !! Thanks for posting

  • wow, love the skirts

  • was this from john byner's something else?

  • I'm pretty sure it was
