  • It's a difficult &emotive question.I used to think adamantly that Joseph's remains should be laid to rest with respect finally, but now I think they are better safe where they are.At least his skeleton(which makes me cry whenever I see a photo of it) cant be seen by the general public.I feel it is different to see a photo, rather than in reality.I'd be very afraid that if his remains were buried, his grave might be found by horrible people who would deface it - and that would be very upsetting.

  • Do you think they should finally bury his bones?

  • They look great, however do you sign your signiture? :)

  • @watchensee Ummm,I havent on the drawings.I would if I put the best ones in an exhibition...which is unlikely, because I cant exhibit my pictures of Joseph anyway in a public gallery here. They're deemed ''too hard'' to look at. Which of course I dont agree with - I think he's lovely, and paintings should show emotion, feelings shouldnt they?? I am upset and insulted personally on Joseph's behalf.

  • @MrsJosephMerrick Oh well as an artist myself I was told back in school that artits always sign their work. Even if you're not showing your work to the public sign it anyway you never know. What if you moved and some of your work got left behind or something? Someone see's one or two of your drawings/paintings and likes it, they'll want to know who the artist is. Just a thought! There are artists who display things that shouldn't even be seen by the public eye. I don't see why your work is

  • @watchensee too hard to look at, or why it can't be shown? So many things don't make sence in this world?! %P

  • @watchensee Yes, its NOT right. They show rude and ugly paintings, or complete rubbish! But I cant show my Joseph???Its disgusting.

  • @MrsJosephMerrick No it isn't right, your work isn't about hate or anything evil, just beautiful portraits of an inspiring person of history.

  • @watchensee Thankyou. I hope so. :)

  • @watchensee ok, on your advice I shall sign them in future! I only sign paintings because I must, I dont like signing. And then in the corner in little letters. :)

  • I really like these, it looks like you're really mastering the detail of his face. Really amazing. You should do medical illustrations for books and journals! :)

  • @HotBroodish Thanks for your very kind comment, but you know I dont see Joseph in a medical way.I want to be accurate as much as I can yes, but because I not only feel he's lovely just as he is , but because I see the ''real Joseph'' shining through even when I draw or look at his deformity.I felt that when I finished the left profile.I feel very close to him looking at it ... Anyway, I suppose I'll just keep going, until I feel I see the real Joseph looking at me through those beautiful eyes.

  • Ohhhhhh.....you always do a lovley job they are so detailed. I like the 2nd one the best. He looks very handsome with just the jacket & hat (no mask)

  • @MademoiselleAnna Yes, of course I agree - in the one where he's just wearing the famous hat(without veil) he looks handsome. I just want to put my arm through his and go for a walk with him proudly. Before he wore the cloak and veiled hat, he wore a big coat, scarf and a hat anyway, the scarf wrapped around his face to hide it.

  • He is always beautiful!!! Great video!!!!

  • @eugenie1967 Yes, he really is. :) Thanks very much for your lovely comment!xxxx
