@KFunk1989 So far it's been fine. We did have one problem soon after we made the mods where it became extremely loose, to the point that it almost fell off. Just gotta really tighten it, maybe even LocTite it. other then that it's been fine.

Why did you guys not use the shell deflector? I was thinking of buying the one you got, but I've never seen what one looks on a rifle and didn't know how it would attach to the stock. Great looking gun, that is pretty similar to what I'm building.

@JackRayleigh The shell deflector got in the way of optics mounting I believe and that's why we chose to not use it.

How good was your scope at keeping zero? Just curious, because I'm thinking about getting another SKS just so I can change parts and add accessories (Wanna leave my first one stock.). Anyway, I hear that the receiver cover isn't a good place to mount the scope since it loses zero quite quickly. What's your experience been with that?

@Paulmarti Well it was a crappy norinco scope so it wasn't all that great, but it seemed to be OK at holding it. the accuracy was much better then stock, but on my personal gun if i were to add a new sighting system i'd opt for peep sights.

@alwaysready77 Are you a shmuck? I get none of my info from video games. Most, if not all of the time, the information in video games is wrong. What part of this video do you think has info from a game? Are you just confused by the ballistics side of the scope adjustment? I could explain it, but i'm not sure you would be able to understand.

The stock SKS is un-restricted. After mods... is it still un-restricted? Or is it now classified as restricted due to the tacticle nature?

@1woozoo Un-restricted. The tactical nature has nothing to do with what's restricted and what isn't. The length, and the reputation of the gun are what determine it's classification. Ar15's are restricted because they look scary and are primarily a military and leo rifle. The AK series are prohibited because they are "evil soviet arms of communist doom". Basically, they have a bunch of old ladies who know dick all about guns running the firearms classification's section of our gun laws.

@Egamer50 I have to disagree, those guns are fully auto, not because they look scary,,, thats bull, sks are classed as a semi auto rilfe, ak is prohibited because its fully auto, same with AR 15, M4, m16 has burst fire mode. assault rifles have burst or fully auto.

@TheTrueJBV3737 But you are wrong my friend. Yes, they make full auto/burst mode. But those modes can be taken out of the rifle in manufacturing. I can buy an AR-15 here legally, and of course, it's only Semi auto. There are plenty of AK's that are just like this, so why is the AR-15 legal here and the AK family not? What about the Dragunov? It is a DMR rifle from the ground up, never designed with any option but semi, yet it is prohibited? on what grounds? Im sorry, but your argument is nill.

also the rubberized one has a blue recticle and use loctite red if you don't ever want to get the nut out and blue keeps it tight but you can get it back out.

the gun only holds 5? mine takes 10 in the box mag... I think there are finer adjustments in that scope than 1-2 MOA, the slots dont turn separate from the turrets?

@axelsfolks Canada is restricted to 5 round mags for any rifle. Luckily I live in the US! 20RD MAG!!! lol

-awesome vids guys- Im from northern B.C. and i love my sks, i ordered the same stock (not here yet) a shell deflector,fore-grip and i bi-pod that slides out of the fore-grip, in the futur i also plan on getting a light, laser, putting my muzzle break on and getting the t200 rear app sight and it should be awesome : )

As for app sights I heard from a range officer that the Williams Firesights are really good, he said he has a pair on his rifle an is easily hitting under pie plate size targets at 100 without a rest.

if you modify your weapon to have a magazine of more than 5 rounds you have just made that firearm prohibited.

i *had* the chinese version bayonet and all with the 20 round magazine (hence it was the carbine version) but it sucks that your in canada i live in TX and they are perfectly fine with it down here but yea nice SKS i dont want to go with that tactical look i just like the basic original look lol

What province do you guys shoot in? Im getting an sks soon and getting a tactical stock for it. the cheap ammo makes the gun even more fun to shoot. cheers from Van!

Were in Ontario. right now the only place i can shoot is the range, sadly theres not much open land here thats free for shooting :(

if I can suggest a stock, i'm really looking into the one by Shernic Gunworks, looks awesome, Google it.
