just saw a video comparing crosby to yzerman...after i was done throwing up i had to comment. there are many good players, a few great players, but once in a while a player comes a long with grace, class, and heart....THAT is what makes players like steve yzerman a legend and an icon, and y players like crosby will never achieve that level of greatness. thumbs up for Detroit, and the NHL's latest legend
Imagine it. Gretzky, Yzerman, Orr, Lemieux, Crosby all in their prime on the same team together. Playing on TEAM CANADA in the olympics. I get chills thinkin about it :)
@hockeyhubbub his size is true...but remember, its all relevant. That wouldnt have been considered very small for that time. this is why larry robinson (6'4) looked like chara (6'9) during his day.
@Mopo3oB44 Yep, you're right! ...But speaking as a smaller Hockey player myself, The opposing kids each year, just seem to get bigger and bigger. In today's NHL... Well, ...Heck even when Stevie was in his prime, he was NEVER big, except for the size of his HEART! He had the Heart of a Lion, and he was a fantastic Captain and a true Champion!

5'10 or 11", 180-lbs, Stevie Y will always be an inspiration to smaller Hockey players.
He showed us all just how great you can be.

Pro-Sports will never see another team leader like this guy. As much as he is missed by Wings fans, I wish him luck in Tampa Bay.
