there are 2 types of air refueling systems. there's the boom system which usually is better for large aircraft because fuel transfer is faster, and the probe and drogue system usually for fighters.

USAF aircraft all use the boom system because of the number of large aircraft in the inventory. For smaller a/c it's not really optimal, because you can have only 1 boom system per tanker whereas you can have several drogues. So USAF tankers can refuel only 1 a/c..

Not same mission

- F22 is only for air superiority, nothing else

- Typhoon is for air superiority with some features bomber

- Rafale is fully multi rule, assault bomber, interceptor, nuke strike, penetrating strategic, take off from carrier.

- Typhoon and Rafale are complement, we need booth. they are for same mission.

- F35 try to be equivalent or better to rafale.

the Rafale is better on certain aspects, the Typhoon is better on others. They're both very good planes, Europe is growing stronger. NATO is also growing stronger with the Raptor.

We've also got good tanks (Abrams, Challenger, Leopard 2A5, Leclerc,...)and new systems of combat (Felin,...)
