sprinters have the best definition he is really close to my philosophy. you dont have to do thousands of miles on a treadmill, you just need quality training plus the fact that you dont wear off you joints.

Hey Tuan did you ever try an extended period of time trying a conventional cardio method? About 7 years ago I did HIIT (sprint/walk) and I did get into the sharpest condition ever but I also lost a shitload of muscle. No doubt in my mind that HIIT gets you ripped the fastest, but what do you think about the muscle loss among different methods of cardio?

@MrCsbo No exercises target a specific area for fat loss. For example doing crunches all the time doesnt mean you will lose fat on your stomach, it just strengthens your ab muscles but the fat is still there. You have to do intense cardio like this at least every other day, coupled with ab workouts to build the muscle underneath

i used to fight at -58kg (walk around at about 60) but ever since i started doing a proper strength and conditioning programe at my local university I have put on nearly 5 kilos!! how can I get back down to 58kg without losing too much strength?
practising for world juniors I did 20 x 2 minute quarter miles ( run the 400 in whatever the time takes you but rest til the two mins are up, ex. if your run 70 secs - you get 50 secs rest.) Those were the most intense cardio workouts I've ever done, this exercise seems to be more oriented towards strength and top end speed... But I guess if your B.M.I is that high then you do work a lot harder ( considering the rest interval it still seems like a strength workout though)

@ufc79andy your diet is the biggest key to fat loss. if that is off, it will be very difficult to lose weight and body fat. if you need help with that or any other aspects of fitness, sign up for my online persoanl training. but once you get your diet right, the weight will melt right off

Great video. This is a workout the track team does. My coach makes everyone do this but the catch is we have to get timed one minute or less which is very challenging. And we would have to do a lot of 400m. But great video Tuan.
Hi Tuan! I have a question, say if your doing HIIT training with this 400m sprint. First you sprint your ass off for the first lap, take 10sec rest and sprint again and repeat. After that take 30sec rest and do that interval for as many times as you can. If you pretty much collapse and have a hard time breathing and you only discover you did only about 20-30min, is that a job well done? Or should you keep going until you cant do anymore?

@CeLesfLowRight It takes time, but 400 is a mixture of endurance and sprinting speed. There's no way to spring 800 m from the start, but treat it like an endurance race, to build stamina for your 400. Good luck
This is very similar to how Roger Bannister trained & became the 1st person to run a sub 4 minute mile. He would do 10 400 meter sprints a day with a minute rest between.
@johnnyu3 1 minute rest only. my god. if I did that, I don't know what would go first. me doing a face plant from my legs giving out or having a heart attack from not getting enough recover. I can barely recover after doing a recovery walk around the track and that is close to about 5 mins of recovery. that guy was something else

@MikeDunn I do both, but when walking the next quater mile, my body fully recovers and my heart rate goes back down to where my fat burning zone is. When runing and walking hundreds, my heart rate never fully recovers by the time I am already having to run the next 100 meters. On top of that, I run the 100 meters so much faster that the lactic acid builds up a lot quick in my legs and the amount of distance I can cover drops, which also limits how many calories I burn

but 800m sprint kinda insane for me..
i only do 4 x 400m(1 min interval) and i need around 3 minutes rest before workout cuz i feel dang exhausted after the run. anyway, ill try it out!

@CeLesfLowRight It takes time, but 400 is a mixture of endurance and sprinting speed. There's no way to spring 800 m from the start, but treat it like an endurance race, to build stamina for your 400. Good luck

This is very similar to how Roger Bannister trained & became the 1st person to run a sub 4 minute mile. He would do 10 400 meter sprints a day with a minute rest between.

@johnnyu3 1 minute rest only. my god. if I did that, I don't know what would go first. me doing a face plant from my legs giving out or having a heart attack from not getting enough recover. I can barely recover after doing a recovery walk around the track and that is close to about 5 mins of recovery. that guy was something else

@MikeDunn I do both, but when walking the next quater mile, my body fully recovers and my heart rate goes back down to where my fat burning zone is. When runing and walking hundreds, my heart rate never fully recovers by the time I am already having to run the next 100 meters. On top of that, I run the 100 meters so much faster that the lactic acid builds up a lot quick in my legs and the amount of distance I can cover drops, which also limits how many calories I burn

@rak000 sadly I wish that was the case, but there will always be new people watching my videos and some of them will be haters. just doing what I can to really make it hard for them to hate. but yes, I do get tired of making the videos and having to add my natrual clips. but, it works to reduce the hate comments.

awesome tuan!!...if im not mistaken, sprinting is anabolic and releases testosterone/ HGH in the body if done correctly, at the right intensity and short intervals. On the flip side, long intense bouts of cardio are catabolic....is that right tuan?
