Automatics sap more power from the engine and back in the day were normally only 4speed vs 5speed....but now most performance models are 6speeds while automatics are normally 5...if lucky or if a honda....so yeah manual for the win.

Domestics are fine, except they are cheaply made. The Shelby's are nice, but they have almost no handling. It's not about driving the fastest in a straight line because if it were, I'm sure the Shelby would win hands down...but once you approach that first curve the Shelby is done. Show me one Shelby that can keep up with an SI in the slolums.

Manual provides more control over the engine and is a more involving driver experience. Automatic is defintely superior for very simple transportation, but manual makes said transportation more interesting and fun, and it's cheaper and easier to repair due to simpler mechanics inside.

Also, the Civic Si is only available in manual, so there isn't much of a choice for this car.

I'm looking at 08's and 09's( depending on the cost) but i'm still very concerned about the 3rd gear grinding and popping out. Especially since i have a 30-40 minute drive everyday. Have any feedback?

You will love the SI man...the 3rd gear does grind sometimes, but it's really rare and think it's my fault because I depress the clutch too soon...also, when I power shift for some reason fourth gear doesn't catch sometimes, but other times, it's perfectly normal...As far as the gears grinding, it will happen sometimes with any car you buy...for a 30-40 minute drive, you'll love it...it's so fast, and the gas mileage is WICKED AWESOME!...+ you can beat some Mustangs along the way! They Can the psp system has a new GPS USB attachment in Japan. I can buy one and combined with the homebrew scene with the voice simulating software produce a true GPS using all of that and the Google Maps for PSP systems...Might Take some time but I can do it.
