I didn't drop mine yet.... (knockonwood and stuff)
I thought I would sooner or later, that's why I didn't buy new.
Not that it isn't scratched. The previous owner dropped it a couple of times by the looks of it. I was thinking of spraying graphics on it or something.
I think the scratches in your bike aren't as bad. Have you tried polishing? I think with the right polishing compound you could get it out. It doesn't look to deep or anything.
Lucky. I think every rider has dropped a bike at some point or another. I had almost the exact same damage you did on the exact same bike, except I also had the fairing punched in slightly around the left turn signal. It can be depressing, but you have to just get up and keep going.
this bike still looks super clean... i remember before i had my bike, every time i would even see a bike.. i would want it.. no matter what it looked like. this bike wouldve deffinately been on my top list of wants.. :D pretty fresh bike you got here...
(and i do wish that i had a girl rider around where i live... i think thatd be sick to ride with a girl)
My first day i rode mine i crashed in the grass...yeah grass haha thank god it wasnt on pavement. there were a few scratches but my dad buffed them out. You cant see a single thing. I highly recommend to get your sliders first my ran about $120 black with the blue tip. It looks real good!
You are so lucky that your dad was able to buff out the scratches! I have not been so lucky, but sliders are on the top of my list. What kind did you get? They sound hot! Do you have a picture?
I do have a picture its on my facebook 8) I just had my new exhaust put on (jardine RT 5 slip on) and my fender removed. you should definitley check it out!
I'm sorry to hear and see this. I just got my 08 Ninja 250. Brand new rider, not afraid to ride, just not looking forward to the drop. I do beleive it does add character.
You live and you learn. You ride to live and learn as you ride.

Worst case... a bit of spray-paint and lots of elbow-grease will fix it.
Anyway sorry to hear, and good-luck getting it fixed!

A naked bike will scratch too, and if you're really unlucky dent too. When dropped

A fairing is easy to replace. Costly yes, hard no.... Scratched or dented tank is an entirely different ball-game

Oh that is so depressing!!! :-( I didn't notice, by the way.
Well, if chicks did scars, then we should dig scarred bikes, right? LOL.
I've come *so* close to dropping mine a couple times. Sheer determination was all that kept me upright. Darn thing weighs three times as much as me.
