  • teddy afro the best respect from israel

  • Teddy,

The times I personally met you, you left me with the impression, you are very decent good hearted man, who wishes all the best for al people. It's refresshing to see, a young super star like you, with milllions of funs to his credit, can still keep his decency, honest to hismself & to any ordinary lay man/woman around.

I respect & admire your personal character & your beatiful music.

In the hearts & minds of your funs, you are a credit to Ethiopia & man kind.

    YOUR ERITREAN ADMIRER

  • @BahreNeGash

Thank you for complementing Teddy who is one of the best Ethiopian singers out there. Even though I don't like you I like how you respect Ethiopian singers so I thank you for that.

  • @206amar1

    Negassi Agame,

    Ante Komatta Tigrie,

Teddy Afro is a victim of TPLF Aparthied prosecution. just like millions of Ethiopians.

    Therefore,,, Good try but,,,,

YOU CAN NOT FOOL ALL ETHIOPIANS ALL OF THE TIME.

    FYI:

Unlike you & your TPLF ethnic-gangs, Teddy Afro represents milllions of Ethiopian hearts, minds & soul.

I DARE ANY TIGRY AGAME TO PROVE ME WRONG???

  • @BahreNeGash

Im six feet tall so im not a midget. But I agree with you my Eritrean shermuta friend. Teddy reps Ethiopia.

  • @206amar1

    Agame,

TEDDY AFRO IS A VICTIM OF TPLF, JUST LIKE MILLIONS OF ETHIOPIANS.

But searching for one of your many IDs ((@206amar1, Ethionz,,,etc) on youtube proves, you posted millions of comments BARKING against Ethiopians, Eritreans, Somalis, Egyptians, Sudanese,,, etc.

The ONLY way you desperatly try to componsenate for your deep seated Agame inferiority complex is by BARKING against Ethiopians, Eritreans, Somalis, Egyptians, Sudanese,,, ALL OVER YOUTUBE.

    Too bad, it ain't working,,

  • @BahreNeGash

Let's stop and talk about you. Your always talking about Ethiopia 24/7 on Youtube. All I have to do is click on your name and it shows all the stuff you said about Ethiopia in the past few days.

  • @206amar1

    Agame,

Ethiopia waging 50 years of war against Eritreans is NOT picnic.

TO SEE HOW PEOPLE TREAT YOU THE WAY YOU TREAT THEM, HERE'S A QUOTE FROM ETHIOPIANS.

"ወያኔ አለ አይደል እንዴ ነጣ ምርጫ ብሎ እንደገና ለምን አትደግፈኝም ብሎ በማስ የሚያጠፋ እስካሁንም በኑሮ ሕዝብ የሚቀጣ ዘረኛና ቂመኛ መንግስት?"

TOO BAD, YOU CAN NOT FOOL ALL THE PEOPLE ALL OF THE TIME, by bleeding your heart out & barking against Ethiopians, Eritreans, Somalis, Egyptians, Sudanses, etc,,, with multiple diiferent youtube IDs all over youtube.

  • happy new year!

    one love

  • i think that we ain't good governor, but sucker saying we are growing shit ,fuck dem all they ain't got mind ,God bless Ethiopian, hope there is bright day for us

  • The last bit is very sad and makes me cry, children and women waiting for their death. How sad can that be? May Allah cure for their hunger in heaven and show them a better home than on the Earth.

  • i wish i didnt have to go to afghanistan, but rather go to my motherland africa instead. may africa morn its children, not african children morn mama africa

  • i dont i understand wat he says but i from the look of the video i can tell is about the love of one's own country, which is wat my countries- the democratic republic of the congo and republic of rwanda needs. from the look of the chaos thats happening in africa i wish i could leave the us army infantry and start my own rebel group but thats not what africa needs so i will keep doin humanitarian works as im doin. MUCH LUCK TO MY BELOVED MAMA AFRICA.

  • lets just say im a congolese tutsi, hopefully by modern historic lines dat makes me an ethiopian. anyway i love his album, especially this song and lambadina.

  • He understood my mistake, I love Teddy Afro is very very very but I barely I serve to Akny when you ask to listen to the songs of Teddy Afro was both resent and I know their reaction surprised me Avaji this feat he had misrepresented the Tigray and when I asked how he answered other because song Gah, but I Wright It's ridiculous because the song does not Tse-Gah, the Tigray, but I never heard the last words that Teddy Lacy of Tigray tread Varjua concert that I deny that this or that Tukdoh

  • the only geniune opposition in the 1997 so called "Ethiopian election"

  • he belives in one eth hahaha let me tell u means the one whobelive in that there have never been one ethiopia and will never be...all ppl who are siting at the US saying we care about eth go there and fight for one eth and u will se what what will happen..after 5 years tigry will be sepatate wid ogaden, ogaden, gonder and bahirdar....u will see wht will hapen eth will be like 89 state like her language belive me

  • henock190:

your argument is typical propaganda. If Ethiopia were supposed to be 89 states, it would have been 60, 70, 80, 120, 180, 300, 800 years ago. Open a book and read, you will be amazed how short sighted your propaganda message is.

    ~Classic~

  • Addis negus enji lewt mech meta?!

  • Exactly SkinH8tr, lewt mech meta? Until Ethiopian people have legitimate elections and a prime minister had limits on the years they serve. Meles neguse eda lem! Share the power to someone else, it's not fair or moral. Until ignoble and unhappy regimes hold our brothers and sisters in Ethiopia, Eritrea and Somalia or anywhere in the planet there can not be no peace in the African Continent.

  • I shall forever be at the service of the eternal, imperial majesty.....His face shall never completely reveal itself to this corrupt place.... called earth...

Long life to those who suffer on the harsh soil of East Africa..from the Horn to the southern savannahs and lush hills.

    God bless Teddy Afro!

    Salam alaykum,Peace to you all

    Rugabo Kadahusha..{Burundi}

  • Amazing song indeed! From the pictures, he is portraying the problem in ethiopia and what has led to them. Don't understand what he is saying since I m from Nigeria. However, I know what this guy stands for. He just reminds me of our own fela and even Bob Marley. More power to Teddy. Lots of message in his music. More power to us as Africans in general!

  • @bosunbello Yasteseryal means being a Rastafarian. He's singing about Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie I King of Kings Lion of Judah House of David and Solomon. Teddy Afro's song really goes deep to his love for H.I.M, Ethiopia and emotions about the demise it experienced.... Heartbreaking lyrics in the end about mother Ethiopia...

  • @KingSolomonUW2004 can you translate the lyrics into English for us please ?

  • Long live for Teddy! death for manslaughter Ethiopian leaders!

  • amen

  • he became one of the oppressors victim

  • i love teddy and tibebu

  • ታላቁ ጃንሆይ የኦሮሞው ልጅ ተፈሪ መኮንን

  • In minute 6:40, it sounds like he was crying. TEDDY AFRO; I love you. From a human who has never met you; a human who happens to speak no Amharic whatsoever. To the fanatic who says I will be grouped with the people I love in the hereafter, I SAY: I am OK with that!

  • it is a happy day, Tedy is out of jail. The best Ethiopian Singer and activist.

  • Comment removed

  • this is the song why they put him in jail not for a dam child being killed! bullshit!

  • excellent music

  • I think Teddy Afro is a prominent figure/artist, whom if given the opportunity of freedom of speech can make a real political change in Ethiopian. His lyrics are so on point to why the Derge regime destroyed so many innocent lives by the name of Red Terror and why the new leader is even worst than Mengestue.

e of Ethiopians. His music delivers a valuable message to reunite all Ethiopians, to the leaders to give up on some of the divide and concurred ideology that the west tattooed to Afric

  • ethiopia

  • jah means "God" the singer explains it at around 5:22 and you can check wiki for 'jah'. it is a hebrew word for "The Lord". though the rasteferians mix it up with the young Ras Teferi. It could also be argued the genre of the song is reggae then why not mix reasonably reggae language like 'jah' to it, right.

  • Dimmaa

I had fallen in love with this song the first time i heard it but as time went by i built this dislike for it because i felt it was glorifying Teferi, who is Oromo by blood and Amhara by his actions, revered by the Amharas and showan oromo. I still feel that i am not the intended audience for his songs. They are more reminiscent of the hay days of the christian highlanders. this kolo temari stuff etc. anyways withnot losing my suspicion fully, i could say this song is very good.

  • And yes the other cult is the Cult of Personalities...like Jah Yastesereyal...What's it supposed to mean? Ethiopians tend to worship their "leaders" and condemn their adversaries to death and that is the culture we must wage war on; not individuals or ethnicities or certain religious groups. The Cult of Jah, together with the "Shashemene squatters" must leave Ethiopia/Oromia.

  • I am not sure if I understand you correctly. Jah Yastesteryal means "God will redeem". I don't know why that would bother you that much? If anything in a country like Ethiopia where the majority are religious, it looks like the perfect message for reconciliation.

  • If Jah actually means God, well, yeah. However, to the singer and the Shashemene squatters I'm positive that Jah means Hailesellasie. It is ridiculous to sing the praises of a man who was as rtuthless as his successor. If Hailesselassie had facedviolence to the level Mengistu , it won't be a stretch to extrapolate that the midget king would have been more ruthless.

  • One again listen to the song. He actually says somewhere " Jah malet Fetari".

About Haile Selassie, Teddy has lauded him for his work in Pan African Movement (which is respectable-I don't need to go there), despite his questionable record at home. Did halile selassie clinged to power? of course who hasn't in Ethiopia? But the economy was in the right track. Ethiopia where well integrated into the world Economy in 1973 than today. His successor made Haile Selassie look good by comparison.

  • wfirew,

but integrating the economy into world economy is no excuse for anything. If you are looking for excuses for people you like, then you lose objectivity. People who worship current day quasi-dictator may also cite several examples to excuse his clinging to power even if he is promising to leave now.

In short stop worshipping Teferi. To be honest, by comparison Mengistu freed close to half the population of Ethiopia from the serfdom to which they were subjected during H.Sellasie.

  • I'm not sure what Jah actually means and what language it is, but if it is another of nicknames for Hailesellasie ( liek Janhoy, Moa Anbessa etc) then Jay malet fetari simply means Teferi malet fetari. So until some one tells me what Jah means and what language it is in, I'll assuem it is one of a 100 names of Teferi as awarded him by Shashemene squatters/Ganja smokers.

  • Jah means God. Check whichever source you believe. Of course for Rastafarains Jah is Haile, we live in a free world and they have the right to believe in whatever. For teddy look the verse "jah malete ferari mesere yikerta enga siniwaded yisemanal geta". He is not rastafarian. I doubt teddy believes Haile is his creator, lord....also listen to reports about the song it . If you want to know my view about the different regimes, I will send you message (difficult to cut into comment size).

  • I dont speak the language, however as one commentator said, I believe God will redeem, is utmost right word to use for those African rulers, to them theres no accountability for their actions, but remember there will be judgment, after ones redemption.

Leaders will be known for what they done during their life on earth.

Besides stop using tribalism as excuse to insult others, this what I call African mantle blockage.

    Peace

  • The deadly cult of Ethiopianism since the early days of Theodros the maniac. This convict is simply the wannabe one. Until the evil spirit ( and i say that liberally) of the cult of Ethiopianism is rebuked by all Ethiopians, the misery succesive wars, famines and pestilence will continue.

Just say NO to the cult.

  • I believe it is sooner or later the Oromo's turn to shoulder the responsibility of what to do with Ethiopia. If they may choose to make city states out of it or make a democratic federally united states of Ethiopia. if i were them i would rather try the latter one and fail. It is your call. me, my father is mixed with oromo and amhara and my mother is mixed with oromo and amhara. you call us wrongly, neftegna, i call myself a constantly prosecuted species unfortunately for what i am.

  • I have nothing against Ethiopia as a country nation of nationalities gathered together in a spirit of buildign a common future based on equal participation and responsibilities. My problem is with the cult of Ethiopianism the kind that led Mengistu to murder tens of thousands in the name of Ethiopia First. That, my friend, is a cult. We should be wary of any form of ideology wrapped in extreme patriotism and sold in the form of religion given all sorts of SCRIPTURAL covers.

  • what sucks is that he got sent to jail for singing the truth.. i swear man meles is the most retarded president/prime minister

  • What a great singer. This is the reality about Ethiopia. Guys he is calling for change. No Ethiopian singer ever sing such reality about Ethiopia. He deserves praise for his strong words and audacity

  • teddy go to HELL. CHAUVANIST, DISCRIMIATOR, DEADNESS IS NOT ENOUGH TO YOU.

  • well the part of the video makes me wonder why they always be talking about starvation in ethiopia ihate them they make me sick...............

  • i love this video and i think teddy should make more of this kinds of music it just takes back every ethiopian and reminds of the greatnes and its also sad really sad but i think it's really grate

  • What's this song about?

    And what does 'Yasteseryal' mean?

  • Yasteseryal means redemption.Teddy is talking about the derg and woyone regimes who have been oppersing the Ethiopian people. He is calling for love and unity.he said we got another dictator (Meles) in place of Mengustu and nothing has changed.

  • I buy Welo and Gondar opals directly from CO-op farmers and small scale miners in the area.

  • haha.. very funny.. you work for UNICEF AND you are advertising here? very interesting!

  • U know mr Selassie is the reson somalis had resepct for Ethobiya habesh.,...CMON MAN A BLACK EMPOROR everyone can dig dat....

  • I don't work for UNICEF, I work for my self

And Donate money to UNICEF. I am looking for people in the social network sites that may have relatives in the region that might like a good paying job when the mines are up in operation. If you think that is funny then I don't get the joke.

  • listen, We all fucked up but let's forgive each other and move on. Let's stop living in the past..ethiopia is one teddy is the man

  • Haters like u should be in jail

  • what the fuck is eritrean rats doing here? you should be rebuilding from the loose you took ten years ago.

  • First of all, I'm not a rat. I am a human being.secondly, I don't have anything to rebuild because my country is not suffering from hunger as much as Ethiopia.

And finally, I'm here watching this video because I like Teddy Afro's songs, and being Eritrean doesn't restrict me from watching Ethiopian videos, you arrogant, foolish dog.

  • ya i agree man, i love this song, but almost every eritrean/ethiopian song i go 2 on youtube, i always see ppl bickering and arguing about needless things. juss shut the fuck up and listen to the music is what i always say man, lol

  • you are so right man..

  • i dunt like halie selasie buh since ethiopia is our land i praise for ethiopia to become a more efficent country..viva ethios

  • Darkness: it will not be enogh because the governing elit of ethiopia is occopying lands they have no right to. the last time ethiopia had a rightiouse king they were the protectors of those who where prosecuted in other lands. now they starv and ethnically clens some of those tribes in what they call their own territories. so u see the majotiry of the population is being punished for what the minoriey have brought upon them:(

  • Ayeee, Emeye Ethiopia;;;;;;;;;; Let God bring better days to the land and the people!

  • Poor Ethiopia my country. There was never a fifty year period without war or famine. Will it ever be enough?

  • Hi nathanielmak,

Thanks for your recommendation to research :) If you allow me, I have a recommendation for you too. Denial and finger pointing is a solution for nothing. If you really want a true solution, it is better to start with where the problem is i.e. within Ethiopia. Your talk about robbery by the west is ridiculous. What is there to be robbed in Ethiopia? Poverty? hunger? war?

  • in all honesty nathanielmak speaks the truth. For example, a country like Algeria which is rich in oil sells its crude to a country like China which consumes a lot of oil. The money that Algeria gets from the sale is spent, of course, on infrastructure. The problem is that there arent enough skilled Algerians to create a workforce to build roads and highways and things like that. What do the Algerians do? They hire the Chinese to build it for them. China wins Algeria loses.

  • hehe u talkin about oil, But you know ogaden people will never allow Ethiopia 2 get our oil, We will fight as long we breathin...

China we will never turn back again 2 ogadenia after onlf killled 77 of chinese

  • i'm an eritrean and i love this song, so much,

and his song about bob marley!

    yay habesha's :)

  • Bless your heart! have fun in penn state baby

  • umm, i guess your stupid because i said i loved the song okay.. so just chill and learn to read. :) thanks

  • In the last part, the girl crying also makes me almost cry. She is so desperate, and she definitly doesn't deserve it. It is a heart-wrenching scene for anyone who has a sister. Teddy almost cries to the end, which I completely understand. I feel like all Ethiopians should cry for being so poor and helpless.

  • "I feel like all Ethiopians should cry for being so poor and helpless".!!! that is such an ignorant thing to say! I think more Ethiopians should read and research the true reasons why their is poverty in our country. Corruption and practical robbery by the western world in terms of trade and resources. The world bank keeps African countries trapped in a system of debt! And aid never solves anything if anything it just embeds a begging mentality in our people. I suggest you do some reading too.

  • "Freedom is acquired by conquest, not by gift...freedom is not an ideal located outside of man...it is rather the indispensable condition for the quest for human completion"Paulo Freire.I want everyone to reflect on this quote after watching the vedio.UNITED WE STAND BUT DEVIDED WE FALL.

  • he saying when meles came to power we tought something his gone to chance but we get another dictator in place

  • i want to know the lyrics to this song in english please..can anyone help??

  • every time i listen this song it made me feel sick&want 2 cry. the message of the song is so deep that no one can stay silent while listening the song. the message resonates in every ones soul. it is just a brief history of ethiopia. we ethiopians need 1 thing ´yefiqir suba-e´-to mourn 4 the mistakes of the past & learn2live in peace with each other. we´ll never b able to break the cycle of poverty, injustice&destruction unless we pay attention 2 the message in this song.god help us.

  • I Love this song like NO other! This song speaks my heart,,The lyrics are the bomb! listen to the lyrics carefully!

  • i know what yu mean he's reviling ethiopias histroy.
