Like a lot of people, I struggled over how to feel about Ty. I knew I should hate him for what he did and I tried to, all along, but I couldn't help falling for him. The entire time, I tried to convince myself to hate him, but I just couldn't.
It was kind of strange when I was reading this book considering I was reading it at the same time as Dark Life by Kat Falls. Completely different book, with one thing in common: the main characters were named Gemma and Ty. Yeah. Weird.
What Ty did was unforgivable and selfish.Yet, i love him because of his good intentions. He really thought he was saving her, & i came to believe that he DID save Gem. He really loved and cared for her, and he was there for her and tried all he could to protect her. I understand Gem tho. But i still wished she gave him a chance.she actually did, but the snake ended it for them. I love Ty, though. No matter how messed up, Gem was lucky some1 cared for her that much. He chose prison for her
at the begging of the story some people may say that ty is crazy for kidnapping gemma but actaully he was just lonly. he wanted someone as a friend and for just some company. even though gemma may never see her parents again i just think that she should be grateful because she could of ended up in a even worse situation were someone could of actaully killed her. shes lucky that ty is not doing anything bad to her and is still feeding her, and giving the stuff she needs.
I love this book, I read it in one sitting, I recommended it to my librarian to apply it for an award, I recommend it to all my friends, but it would make the absolute worst movie ever. Although the book is engaging, it's all internal, she hardly ever speaks in the book unless Ty is there, and in reality all she does is wonder around the desert/ house. They get a camel and they drive really fast somewhere. That'd not only be a really boring movie, it'd be such a let down from the amazing book.

No offense to everyone else, but this would make a terrible movie, simple because it was written in second person, which was why it was beautiful, if It was a film, it would be ruined. Also, I think that if it were a movie, it would take away from the glorious simplicity that made the book so captivating, whenever I watch a movie then read the book (or vice versa) I always picture the movie as the book, suddenly the turmoil would and feeling would turn... meaningless

She wasn't falling in love with him, she was developing Stockholm Syndrome. Letting her "escape" just so he could rescue her was just a way to show how much control he had over her. Obcession isn't love people!

At the end of the book Gemma said that she had too choices,too say that he was a monster and kidnapped her or tell them how they planned it. But I think Gemma knew what she was always going to say, because I had have probably lied in that situation, because I love Ty!
