Thanks for post it, it's a great song. I have another take, maybe more powerful, but I don't know how to convert from my Lp to mp3. Greetings from Spain
Is that the take with Dorsey's vocal? I guess this can be found on the Bear Family CD box set called 'From Nasville to Memphis' or smth like that. Personally never heard an alternate take. Btw, have just been to a fairground today with my daughter, they played Johnny's songs while we were having the ride on the merry-go-round! This one, Dreaming and You're 16! What a great day! :)
You're right tommigun56, it's Dorsey singing, but I don't know if it appears on any Bear Family CD. As I told before, I purchased a rare Lp more than 25 years ago, here in Spain. Greetings
Sure, I know the LP you're talking about (haven't got it though, sadly) and I strongly suspect it is covered on that Bear Family box set. Just checked on Amazon, Cincinnati Fireball appears twice there -tracks 62 and 209. I feel like I gotta buy it now just to confirm :)
Lucky if you can find some record labels willing to reissue some 50's music. Not very usual in Spain, so it's very hard for people like us (rock'n'roll fans) to get some stuff like this...Have a nice day, man
This one is 100% better than the crap pop 'Dreamin' he had a hit with. This one rocks and good gtr solo. Sorry in my eyes that he decided to take the pop path in the '60s and abandoned his Rockn'Roll/RockaBilly roots. But of course it was because of economic reasons he did it. Gals at that time as well as now bought/by the major part of 'stars' record and girls/women in general have a terrible taste. That is a fact. Most of them wants to listen to "music" that havé lost the rock or wild power..
Cont...and they where a major contribution factor that made Elvis mainstream and singing/recording all the trash in the '60s. Women love shit music like pop ballads. They have absolutely no feeling or knowledge for real vintage Rockn'Rol. Look at a '50s single/EP/LP record sales. The only woman you see there are the one that just had to fullow her guy. She's not interested or know anything, she's just there. Luckily didn't all go pop. Eddie Cochran did not, well he had no chance to do it.
Hey thanks! Learned this song in the early 60's, but never knew who singer was. Was just singing it two nights ago and thot I would check youtube and this is what I found. Just great!

Brings back memories of when the fair used to come to town. It was always played on the waltzer ride .

Der Rock and Roll wurde zahm (tame) und es kamen die Streicher. Kurz danach überschwemmte die Beatwelle Europa und den Rest der Welt.

Another take? Sounds interesting.

I found a rare Lp more that 25 years ago. The majority are songs recorded in demo, by Johnny and Dorsey Burnette at home
