  • Well, just do music and shut up, music industry is dead.

  • Well time changes people body incredible guys, Miki doesn't look so bad at all.

  • Fookin' 'ell, great to see you in this Mikki after all those years!

  • Emma and Miki arent together? :) I always thought those two women were lesbian lovers :) hahahaha

    Lush rock on

  • @jetsonic69 In the beginning they were schoolmates, both obsessed with music.

  • anybody out there got any footage of 80s garage punk band "the bugs". miki was in this band for a short time and was a replacement for lloyd tripp after he left.got to see them several times and they awesome.

  • I haven't find any Bugs video so far, but you'll find a Rover Girls vid at the bottom of this side list : they were Emma's first band.

  • @80sgaragetrash - I'm sure Spenser has some footage somewhere, I used to have a load of demos that the boys gave us of the Mk 2 Bugs with Mikki in... much better than the MK 1 Bugs (who were still excellent) ... I used to go & see them loads, they were feckin awesome along with the Grizzelders (which was Liam Watson from Toe Rag studios band)...

  • i'd also like to add that it's a shame miki has to work for a living after the amazing music she made in lush. quite possibly the most underated band of all-time. a brilliant musician indeed. at least lush never sold out.

  • Actually we should open a Paypal account for Lush and put money on it, they deserve that and their music is worth it

  • that's not a bad idea but we have to make sure the money gets to lush. there are other ways to help though. for example, when the reissues are released buy 2 of each and give one to a friend. i plan on doing that.

  • We can also buy official videos on ITunes, at least we'll be able to watch the original copies with the highest possible sound and image quality.

  • The money would not go to Miki anymore. She sold off her rights to Lush's music some time ago. I'm not quite sure if Emma did that.

  • I wonder where did you get that ? I haven't read aything alike so far.

  • I said I read it in NME (maybe some of it was from that source), but now I think it was actually Under The Radar. It was an interview she did with the magizine about a year or two ago. Some of the other information I got from another sources I've read online over the years. I think I was like alot of people hoping that Lush may reform, mainly because I missed a chance to see them in 1996 in Minneapolis. At this point, I don't think they ever will, but we still have the music.

  • I have this interview under my eyes right now and in it she never said having sold off her copyringht on the songs she wrote, thanks God : Guitar Hero came along recently to help youngsters who couldn't see Lush live back in their heyday to at least give them an idea of what their music (and 90's alt rock in general) was like.

  • It wasn't in that interview where I read she sold here rights to Lush's music. I read it from a source somewhere a while back. Maybe like 3 years ago. Anyways, it may or may not be true, though I think it is because the source seemed pretty reliable.

I was actually 18 in 1996 and they were giving away free tickets to see Lush at 1st Ave here in Minneapolis (the club in Purple Rain). I couldn't get any friends that wanted to go so I didn't either. If I knew then what I know now.

  • You would have to make it out to Emma and Miki themselves. I know that Miki sold off her rights to Lush's music. I'm not sure if Emma did.

  • Damn straight. Lush is one of the greatest pop bands in history.

  • I don't think she minds having a day job. I read in interview she did with NME that came out last year and she has no interest in making music and is content being a mother and having a morgage. She has kept her guitars from her Lush days, but does not play them anymore.

  • Who would be content with having a mortgage? maybe if they are crazy. Miki Berenyi is content with spending time with her family and chances are even if Miki and emma did have time and reformed lush, it wouldn't work without chris.

  • Exactly, I'm sure deep down inside she would rather be doing music. I guess I'm a fool. Later.

  • this is probably the most recent video/pic of miki on the internet. she looks really good here but i hope it's more recent than 2000. i last saw her in 1996 and she looks quite more aged and more mature in only a 4 year time span if it is indeed 2000. i'm sure she still looks good now though because she is full of natural beauty.

  • I bet it was shot around the first half of 2004 (John Peel died in October).

  • @pressgangers Come out, come out, whoever you are! Hey dude, your account has been closed by Youtube for previous rude remarks on other videos. I wonder why...maybe 'cause you've got a sick vindictive mind. When John died I sent one letter of condolences to John's wife and family and that was all. You worked with me? Where and when. I don't think I would have worked long enough with an asshole like you if you really did work with me. Anyway, who cares what you think.

  • Miki doesn't dye her hair Manic Panic Red anymore as she has a "straight" day job at BBC London. She does dye her hair it's natural jet black as she is now 41 and graying a bit around the edges. Miki looks good for some one who is 41 and who had two children. She was last in Rochester, NY, USA visiting her relative Yuko in July 2006 and appeared to happy and healthy.

  • She doesn't work (any more ?)for the BBC : she's sub-editor as she explained in the "Under The Radar" interview in November 2007.

  • Great to see Miki again. What year was the interview?

  • John Peel died in 2004, so it can't be after that. A recent interview (2008) with Miki claims her hair is greying and she's an office worker, so I doubt she is still dying the hair cherry red. Since she doesn't look much different from the end of Lush, I'd put this at around 2000 give or take a year.

  • she changed my life. i adore her. she looks fantastic! any idea what year this is from? she didn't age one bit since i saw her in '96!

  • She is the definition of fantastic and always will be

  • i quite agree..

  • she still looks fantastic..

  • When was it ?

  • miki miki miki!
