Most of the demo is credible to me; the problem I have with it is why does the ball deflect downward after impact with the first pane of tempered glass? Backspin might account for the downward deflection but that possibility seems unlikely. With 10-11 degrees of upward trajectory and the extreme change in density from air to glass the ball should deflect upward it seems.

Golf is got virtually nothing to do with strength it is all technique and practise some of the biggest hitters on tour are the smallest guys like Rory McIlroy who regularly hits 320+ with a standard driver not a 50" like this guy uses!

It really all about technique.

But when you need to hit 400+ yards drive for 7 days you really need to have some strength.

Rory is long but the fairway speed and lie helps the ball roll alot. (Only in tournament condition weekends

golf course condition will limits roll)

But for long drivers they hit in a soft flat fairway grid you'd be lucky to have a 30 yards roll.

They need some strength for sure.

Its not all about distance and strength, which is what most Americans think of sports. Golf requires a lot of skill. Some people are great near the green, some are great at putting, some are great at all of it, etc. But just because he can slam a golf ball doesn't tell me much about his golf skill. most unscientific experiment ever! the ball doesnt have a 90 degree angle of incidence so to break the glass it needs to have a horizontal component of 100mph but could have a true velocity of 110+mph... and as someone mentioned earlier, the layers of glass would be weakened by the non penetrating ball strikes. cool camera and video work tho! oh and a hand held radar is normally only accurate to +/- 6-10 % so at 200mph that could be up to 20mph out... try again sport science.

The claims made in this video are disingenuous. The world record for a badminton shuttle in an actual match is 206 mph, and in a set-up situation like this it is 262 mph. That's WAY faster than golf or jai alai. Sure, technically a badminton shuttle isn't a "ball", but come on...
