Hm~~ not exactly. Well, in short "-kun (-君)" is an informal way to address men who are about your age or younger. Males can also call females "-kun" but it's not used between women. If you call someone "-chan (-ちゃん)" it means that you think he/she's kawaii (and it's very informal, even intimate, often used to refer to children and pets). Hope this helps ^^
