That mod is not very well made, and I never made mods, but I've seen mods that were way better. The thing that bugs me the most is the shitty HUD face. Make him get bloody the DooM Guy way, instead of hiding the HUD with blood.

I think it's more like a cinimatic reimagining of the film rather than a game remake of the n64 one. but I don't see how it's ruining it, it looks a hell of a lot better than QOS and even the ps2 ones from EA were but the only way a "real" remake could have been done was if Free Radical (where the goldeneye team went after Rare was bought) did it but they went bankrupt.

Everyone just wanted the N64 GE007 updated and it's obviously not going to happen (at least Perfect Dark XBLA did everything right and more). This remake is just making GE007 as generic as every other shooter out there. ADS, auto-regen health, multiplayer 'perks', it's all complete garbage that GE007 doesn't need in the first place.

@BillyCauseyjr As a matter of fact yes, sometimes having a 12 year old design is better, keeping it unique and set apart from the more modern variants we're used to in other shooter games.

It is after all, an arcade FPS so it should be kept that way. A straight port is all fans have wanted over the years and now they're "remaking" it and destroying what kept the N64 GE007 fun.

I still have a N64 and GE007 but I want it to be given the same updated treatment PD XBLA had, not this remake.

It was most likely played on a Source Port Doom engine, like zDoom, Skulltag, or zDeamon. They usually support additional features while allowing the game to be played without using DOS or a DOS emulator like DOSBox.

The phrase "It looked good on paper" comes to mind. I think the reason this WAD felt so mediocre was because the dev team went from making a Doom-adaption of Goldeneye to a poor man's GE running on a modified Doom engine.

You totally missed the point- in the early Doom era this would have been fucking amazing.

No shit Goldeneye looks better than this- this has been made using ancient source code which ran on 16-bit systems (I.e Amiga), wheras Goldeneye was designed on a 64-bit system (I.e. N64), so it's obviously impossible to look as good.
