My dad (now deceased) was obsessed --utterly obsessed--with antiques and bric a brac, especially old milk bottles. I told myself I would never get interested in this stuff!!
Korea was unified until 1905, then it became a Japanese protectorate; Japan annexed/controlled Korea in 1910 until 1945. After losing in WW2, Japan handed Korea over to the Allies; it was then divided into north/south. USSR got 1948 when it became communist North Korea.
Germany was unified under Monarchy in 1871 to 1918.
@qtutoringhelps Super interesting! It says "Iran" with "Persia" in parantheses underneath. And I just found Israel--I'm thinking this globe is from the 50's, which is pretty cool in my opinion!
Paleozoic cavities and 20th century syringes / British toy soldiers and East African wood / Puppets that eerily resound of Planet of the Apes / Music Boxes and ...
Were you visiting a historic tourist attraction when you pulled the nail out of the old wall? Soon after you did that, the whole ancient building collapsed. As the caretaker came by to find out what happened, you whistled as you inconspicuously sauntered away. >:-)
@legendre007 Ha ha. Fortunately no. Edinburgh (and all of Scotland) is full of old walls and, while waiting for a bus, I noticed that nail stuck in the morter of an old wall. I just yanked it out. Fortunately, no historians were present or they might have been mad. The nail must be several hundred years old judging by the appearance of the wall.

@qtutoringhelps I can certainly understand that. I haven't even gotten to the rocks and fossils yet.

There's no way that globe is 100 years old!
Check:
Persia or Iran? Iran renamed thusly in 1935 .
Israel shown? If so, globe born after 1948.

These objects and ornaments could be used effectively in horror film.

@StudentOfObjectivism . "6:53 = Jack Nicholson."
You were thinking of that part in *The Shining* when he says, "Here's Johnny"?

@legendre007 Just 'The Shining' generally, tbh.
