@raymondo900 are your retarted iraq is a scummy ass country like the dominican republic usa is a wealthey country but is in debt!fuck arabs all they are is a bunch of greedy bastards they will keep making gas prices higher and higher its already almost 4.00 dollars a gallon by summer it will be almost 5.00 a gallon then the usa and other countries will go into a ressesion and making millions job less and millions homeless so fuck you!
Yes, it was just to control the oil market. So what? It is not the first time and will not be the last. A people who can not defend their own natural resources does not deserve to have these natural resources.
It is really understandable why Iraqis are blowing themselves in so many numbers, your country gets invaded under the cover of fake WMD, but the real goal was to control your oil wealth.
Society fabric is torn to pieces and priceless Iraqi historical artifacts gets looted, yet everything was done millitary wise to ensure Iraqi oil continues to flow to fuel Western economies.
Some conservative estimate place Iraqi dead at over a million people. Oil still flows. Will you be mad?
@apresesco Oh yeah, for sure. I bet they do it by the end of the year. I also bet that Obama gets a second term in office, even though over half the country disproves of him now. Our votes don't count for shit. We have over 3 mil. troops, so we could attack Iran anytime. Then all of our crooked ass alies help us, because they want that oil too. These governments suck ass.
oh and yes iraq gives licences for the oil fields mostly to chinese companys, US companys only got 1 or 2 licences, one is shared (US/Chinese). But it is because China don't care about money, US Companys does... Chinese companys work for China... they have an advantage, profit is not the most important thing for them. So if the war is not about oil, so there is no reason to give the licences to US companys, but I remember there was much crying in the US after chinese got licences...
several things, if it was about oil, then why is control given directly to the iraqi oil minister, and why is it that contracts are primarily awarded to other countries, the US was only awarded 2 I believe. And guess what, every country does it. Saudi Arabia, with Aramco, they hand out contracts to companies in england, italy, the US, china, you name it. (from a first hand perspective) so its evil when its in iraq, but perfectly acceptable everywhere else? right...
@bigreddawg91 Because they had no other choice! In the first years the Money from the Oil was going to a "Oil Fund", and all what was known is, that the Fund was managed by the US. But why should the US still have the controll over the Oil 7 years after the war ended (as Bush said in 2003)? On the other Side, when the US had controll the resistance attacked oil pipelines and rigs, there was a desperate video from bush where he said "do not destroy oil[..], it belongs to the iraqi people" lol
There are many reasons why we went to war (im going to talk from a UK perspective). We did not go to war to protect our borders because quite frankly the notion that iraq could have struck the UK in 45mins (which is what was claimed) is far and beyond a ridiculous claim, it is preposterous to think this. And then theres the WMD that were never found, and the Government scientist that decided to take his "own" life after the dodgy dossier was released to the public. Its about money and oil!!!
@Butter116Fly Exactly because of that. He looks different, but is not. The Obama increased military spending and is interfering against other countries..more than the Bush administration
@Butter116Fly All presidents are the same once they get into office. Quit being retarded, and open your eyes. How can you not realize they are all the same. Clinton had plans for this too. Bush and Cheney pushed it into action, and now Obama is increasing it. Every president from now on will keep pushing it along.
It's all good - they kill each other in arguments over which of their imaginary friends are the bestest... I'll take blood for oil, sure why not? Lower my gas prices - give me Air Conditioning, Internet, and a few other comforts and you won't have any trouble from me. Keep in mind I'll kill you for a piece of chocolate and some ice cream so don't assume my support has no limits.
My country has profits from that war to, so i won't be judging anyone ,, But it's wrong ... i don't care if it's "legal" ... to me it's a criminal thing to do No one cares about those people in the crossfire ... those troops ... at least the troops are paid ( something ) the civilians are not paid ... but their all cannonfodder anyway
To all the morons who say "Americans are bloodthirsty, evil, greedy, and only after oil".
Please, do not continue to make yourselves look stupid by commenting on something on which your only information comes from your school hallways. You are the puppets, you can't think for yourselves, you only believe what is the most "popular" amongst yourselves.
I have lost sympathy for war and govt's. Countries only go to war for allies, profit, and self-benefit or self-sustainment. Japan and America have both gone through isolationism to avoid conflict and other reasons.
The USA invaded and murdered a lot of people, for money, petrol and power, just like they have done for YEARS!!!
What is funny and at the same time sad, is the US citizens who think they invade other countries for democracy or liberty... damn ignorant fools!
It's all written in history and in facts, the "US is the freest country in the world, because it feels free to invade and exploit any country, and murder anybody who opposes this".
Nice Nice Video. I really loved your video. Youtube can be a great asset for you. If you need any help getting your video exposed, check out this site called tubeviews [dot net] It has really done wonders for me, I have built 3 Channels up with videos at top in position and this is my forth channel i'm going to working on.
So much written but so actually written. Of course oil is an issue but America was concerned about security in the area which yes effects energy security for the whole world and is a linch pin of the world economy. Second Saddam offered companies the rights to operate in Iraq in the mid 90s to try and get sanctions removed. Hell the USA could have gone into Sudan under the guise of genocide to get rights to their oil resources. Energy Security yes, big corporate conspiracy no.
You lose, 1.7 trillion US war money wasted. Iraq has estimated one third of world's oil. Sudan has very little in comparison and more importantly it would join with its african neighbors to fight back. Now Bush is crying because he lost to Obama and can't steal Iraq's oil. When americans are thrown out, I advise Iraq not to sell US oil companies a drop and deal only with Russia.
The arrangement with the Iraqi government was completed nearly a year ago.
Bush didn't run in the election against Barrack Obama.
Russian oil companies are full of retards who only get a 15% recovery factor out of most fields. Why would Iraqis they deal with Russia? The Russians didn't give a fuck about the Iraqis when Saddam was slaughtering them.
Ha sure man so now it is the second largest reserve of oil and not one third. Here is a lesson for you. Iraq has 150 billion barrels of oil out of a known 1.4 trillion world wide.
Also Iraq built their own chemical weapons from agricultural agents sold to them by the Russians French Chinese and Americans.
Even better than that, retard. The latest geological surveys show Iraq has the world's LARGEST proven oil reserves, as much as 350 billion barrels. More than double what they formerly estimated and it exceeds that of Saudi Arabias 264 billion barrels of oil. And the US won't get one drop of Iraqi oil because of their crimes there.
Ha Russia is in the toilet hotshot. Price of oil fell and their economy with it. Because of their inability to run a non cooked economy no one wants to invest there either. Russia is a dying nation and not a moment too soon.
What, in your dreams? have you been to Russia, they're doing fine, a lot better than the US with it's three million unemployed and seven trillion in debt. Dream on.
EasyEs, you're from Canada, with nothing better to do than defend the US ripping off the world. Canada is only the 51st state of the US that shines Bush's boots and picks up the leftovers of his destruction. Too bad for you and Harper that Bush is thrown out on the streets in a month. Canada has no life the only thing it's known for is a bloodbath wildlife slaughter of millions of arctic seals. It's also known for slaughtering women and children in Afghanistan and suppling arms to the world.
in fact norwegian company statoil hydro was the first to pump gass from iraq..makes me so proud to be a norwegian...over 50% of norwegians did not want to send millitary personel to iraq..they where sent anyway..so much for democracy.. check out bilateral agreement 98 where us forced allot of countries to sign for "protection" maffia style..
again i doubt you have set foot on the middle east. and i who am familiar much with the corruption that exists with their governments as much as there exists here, do no a bit more than u suggest.
and please keep ur personal characteristics to yourself:associating it to people just shows how full of it you are.
i am also familiar with this warm hearted media that has probably shaped ur close mindedness, so i ask you to consider who is really living a fallacy or fantacy, not now but in your hopefully not so shallow future.
oil IS the purpose on going into their war. And if you are smart enough to acknowledge your own incorrect comment. you should have realized the fact that america is and has always been in dire need of oil.
this plan is a twenty five year control over iraqs oil supply. and if you watched this video you would know why we havent "won" this war on "terror," because it isnt meant to be won. It serves for the creation of armed troop bases in iraq's oil lands to sustain private capital gains.
the same truth that makes privatley paid authors and speakers to tramble in their seats on fox while questioned about this fact. the same servents in the media who are controlled by private interest.
for you to say that only 10 percent is controlled is firstly deceptive and incorrect, and secondly Missing the point.
If you enjoyingly watched this video:
America, being the stupidly smart and greedy nation that it is, does not go to war and then think about a side profit of "oil".
I really appreciate the amaurotic feeble response of yours. Without you i wouldnt consider myself educated or even human.
And i well know that ur stature is not of intelligence, or rational, neither of experience nor concern about this issue.
nonetheless i do believe that you are a modest servant of deception, or yet deceived yourself and therefore closed minded enough to take on such a stupid guise.
to deny the truth of fact that has been published on the USA news, pentagon website bofore 2002, and many other places which i doubt you havent heard about.

Yeah since there is such a big war here in Canada. Your country gets only 10% of its oil from the middle east you little turd. Most of the oil comes from Canada and our Tar sands which we make trillions off of you. You have absolutely no idea what your talking about. You live in a fantasy world John. Stop embarrassing yourself.
How much of an idiot are you? That's quite an immature comment from a parent and an ignorant comment at that.Grow up..Or find something else to do.your kids must be very proud of you..Idiot...
Currently, the push for oil companies to get into Iraq. The oil fields were destroyed, correct. That does not mean the U.S. was not there for oil, but it also shows the U.S. has other reasons. Don't fixate on just one aspect of the issue. The situation is more complicated then that.
...as if Iraqi juat wokeup from ICE AGE and desperately Needs foriegn oil companies HELP!!!
just because there are these agreements doesnt means these companies are SAFE from the future PROSECUTIONS!!!!!
these ageement were COERCE Agreements FORCED upon an OCCUPYING force using a puppet government as proxy!!!!!!!
its looting of OIL laced with blood of Iraqi!!! remember all the Ceos name of the mainly US and British oil companies and the oilman from Texas who i m SURE will be drag face JUSTICE
let us never forget bush sr sold saddam biological weapons with a 30 to 60 day shelf
life he was a us allie/pal second bush is handing these contracts dont forget condi worked for chevron and chevrons been meeting with bush in secret since bush did 911 for his dad
To Iraqi people: show no mercy to the imperialist nazi U.S occupiers. Keep on fighting until you kick all their filthy nazi military asses out of your country. The nazi fascist U.S of ameriKKKa invaded Iraq and killed million of your people so it can install its military bases there just like in Japan and S. Korea to CONTROL your OIL and CONTROL you...Iraqi people. The fascist U.S will turned your leaders into bunch of worthless useless corrupt PUPPETS dogs to humiliate the whole Arab people.
why can't you people stop with the conspiracy theories and just be happy that something good is happening for the iraqis, it's not every day that a wartorn country gets a chance to seccure it's economic future
oil companies are advancing efforts to control iraqs oilfields to secure US access to iraqi oil and the wealth it generates. this is not a a "conspiracy theory", it is what is happening in reality. do you still believe that iraq has wmd's that are threatening the US with "mushroom cloud" or that sadaam has ties with al-qaeda? or do you believe that bush just decided one day that he wanted to free iraqis by turning their country into a divided and wartorn catastrophe?
this was no mistake by the bush administration: the evidence has come out that US intellegence agencies, as well as other global agencies, knew before the war that iraq was not a threat; bush proceeded to create "working groups" to fabricate imagined threats based on faulty and unreliable stories created by the likes of challabi.
the plan for control of iraq and its oil was in the works over a decade ago to open up its oil markets (this is called "democracy" in washington slang). cheney even suggested nuking baghdad to oust saadam and open the markets as a humanitarian gesture to save the lives of US troops. 911 just gave the bush criminals a chance to enact a step in a plan at regime change that went on through clinton, who murdered hundreds of thousands of iraqi children by weakening iraqi infrastructure
oil companies getting profits and pumping the oil west is securing the economic future of the US and europe and sustaining their energy needs, it is certainly not doing anything for iraqis who are perfectly capable to industrialize their country and invest their oil profits for the benefit of iraqis. most iraqis want the US out and oil to remain in iraqi hands, they have no more need for the humanitarian efforts of the brutal US plutocrats (including obama's policy for permanent occupation).
record oil prices and US aid (the US is responsible for all the results of their criminal war aggression and must pay reparations) should be directed at starting a national unifying effort for IRAQIS to control and develop their national wealth. they are capable people and do not need western companies doing it for them. iraq needs control of its oil for it to be a free nation. the increase of oil production needs to be achieved in a smart way, not by handing over what iraqis need to live.
the US should also offer no interest loans, in addition to reparation and aid and technology, to help iraqis develop their own resources. starting events that resulted in the death and disintegration of a country will never be fully repaid, but this is the least the US can do and would go a long way to increasing US securty by showing the arab and muslim world that the US is sorry for its brutal, but purposeful aggression.
put these oil control deals to a refferendum and ask the people democratically, oil companies will definately be expelled. there is no point on relying on representation when the politicians are far removed from the suffering of every day iraqis and are protected in the green zone and rely on the US for survival, they will represent the interest of their political class and support the economic policies US politicians want, not what iraqis want.
when someone says that our president (and i am not crazy about bush) just decided to go to war and send our men in arms into harms way while believing that there was no threat and not caring about american loss of life in order to acheive some narrow goal, i call it a conspiracy theory. i've had this conversation 1000x, so i'll copy/paste
washington post article on ssc pre-war intelligence investigation
google: 'Bush Lied'? If Only It Were That Simple By Fred Hiatt
Piro:"He told me that most of the WMD had been destroyed by the U.N. inspectors in the '90s. And those that hadn't been destroyed by the inspectors were unilaterally destroyed by Iraq,"
Pelley:"So why keep the secret? Why put your nation at risk, why put your own life at risk to maintain this charade?"
Piro: "It was very important for him to project that because that was what kept him, in his mind, in power. That capability kept the Iranians away. It kept them from reinvading Iraq,"
this is from The Final report of The national commission on terrorist attacks upon the united states, but better known as the "9/11 Commission Report"
it was a well known fact that saddam had gotten rid of enough weapons in order for the sanctions to be lifted, and it was clear to the world that iraq and its people had been brutally killed and crippled by the UN sanctions.
the only thing that stopped the UN from lifting the sanctions was a US veto during the clinton years. iraq had complied with the sanctions and the UN wanted to lift them while the US blocked the move and used cowardly terrorism to bomb civilian infrastructure to weaken iraq for regime change, while killing hundreds of thousands of iraqi children for US political and economic goals.
what? timelines of the inspection process is available on the un websites. a un resolution demanding that iraq cooperate with the inspectors was passed every few years, about 14 of them, and saddam never fully cooperated with them (restricting access to buildings, burning documents, threatening the inspectors at gunpoint), and desert fox happened after saddam refused to cooperate and put the lives of the inspectors in danger, and it was millitary sites and susspected wmd sites that were bombed
this was by no means a "narrow" goal, it was over a decade in recorded planning while energy lobbys and pressure groups had been clamoring for it to cheney and their other minnions and been talking about iraqs expansive oil markets they wanted access constantly, even recorded in newspapers. believing the most probable and realistic answer is not a "conspiracy theory", its common sense. a lie like "democracy promotion", proven to be false by evidence, is a "conspiracy theory".
the only thing that prevented the UN from determining that iraq had absolutely no WMDS was the US criminal war aggression against iraq, after it had long been determined by all intellegence agencies (including the US's) that iraq was no threat. the UN refused to believe powell's sideshow lies about iraq's weapons to rush to war because they followed evidence, not lies. saddam had allowed inspectors full access, but the US rushed to war to prevent the truth and execute their plan
A fact check would show that: yes, there were more reasons to go into Iraq then wmds and oil. It isn't just oil or spread Democracy etc. it is a combination of many factors. There is a piece of writing with authors such as Cheney, Fukayama, and William Kristol to name a few, they wrote the "Project for a New American Century" during the 1990's. One of the main ideas is that if Democracy can be put into Iraq it would spread to the rest of the Mid-East. Of course, that did not occur.
the "plans" you are talking about were war games,ie. operation desert crossing (which was prepared by gen. zanni, one of the leading voices against the invation in the run up to the war). all that energy lobby stuff you just said is paranoid crap, iraq's oil production was severly damaged during the invation, a prity strange thing to do if that was the main objuctive of the invation as you say. and nobody ever said democracy promotion was the main reason for the invation
im not talking about war games, i gave you specific plannings of high level goverment officials spanning over a decade that have long been a part of public knowledge; including dick cheneys promotion of nuclear strike on baghdad to open its markets. oil control is not about production levels, it is about who owns the oil and who has rights to the profits. the US wants ownership righs and profit access at the expense of iraqis or another ruler, something they could not get fully under saddam
democracy promotion for US security was bush's justification after his wmd and terrorist lies were exposed, now the US government is pushing for oil laws that will put the national wealth in the hands of US economic elites and out of the hands of iraqis.... so much for democracy. US security is worse as hatred and terrorism towards US forces has spread like wildfire from the brutal aggression of the US.
oil production is only useful to the US if they and their economic tentacles control the oil for their benefit; otherwise it can be used against them, like how russia pressures europe
energy industry influence over the bush administration is not a conspiracy theory, it is plain fact to anyone familiar with the makeup of the bush administration, or how washington works (money greases the weels in washington by the buisness community getting behind politicians they want to win, just because its dirty does not mean its paranoid) and is the most obvious and simplest conclusion.
government officials now openly run back to the rhetoric "protecting US energy interests" in iraq. if you think the most sensible explanation (oil interest), that republicans and democracts now openly speak of as a main reason for the occupation, then explain to me the most motivating factors for invading iraq; US security, democracy promotion, bin laden ties, etc. have all panned out to be false by evidence.... to believe these lies would be to believe in a "conspiracy theory"
Oh yes,and US warn China not to attack Taiwan because US wants probably chopstick from Taiwan. And when US went into S. Vietnam because it wanted rice from Vietnam and US helped S.Korea because it wanted Kimchi from S.Korea not because it wanted to stop South Vietnam and South Korea from being consumed by its northern communist neighbor.
Give me a break. One word, the word you never experience in your country...FREEDOM.That's all US is fighting for.Even your thought is a product of lack of Freedom
US attacked south vietnam and installed a puppet regime and put the population into concentration camps before dumping chemicals and bombs all over the country. there was a resource interest in vietnam, but the overriding concern was making sure that the world knew that there were no alternatives to the US run global system that they would allow to exist. US was fighting to limit choice and freedom.
Which history book have u read? Is it the history book made by Iran school system, one that is full of make up stories?
North Vietnam first attacked South Vietnam. That's why US went there for.....for Freedom of the S. Vietnamese, the God given right to freedom that every S. Vietnamese deserves to get(I guess this is way beyond anything u can understand). The immediate by product of this is free world(free nations=free world, hostile nations=hostile world)
This is actually a great thing, with gas prices high, iraq can make a ton of much needed money (and we here in the usa could do the same if we sold some of our oil reserves). and if it is successfull, gas prices will go back down for a bit (especially if we lift the ban on offshore drilling)
There is no oil production shortage, so bringing this Iraqi oil on line will not lower the price. The oil price is high because the US dollar is collapsing, thanks to Ben Bernanke flooding the world with USD to prop up an unsustainable US economy heading into an election year.
There is a refining capacity shortage since environmentalist have not allowed a new refinery to be built in about 30 years. The unregulated futures trading is having a big effect on the price of oil and congress just a week ago or so decided to regulate it.
The refining capacity is the bottleneck between supply and demand hence the price of gasoline. Nonsense, the democrats are responsible for blocking refinery building. Futures trading encourages buying of oil and holding onto it until the price goes up. Do you ever bother to research anything or do you repeat what you read or hear?
"The refining capacity is the bottleneck between supply and demand hence the price of gasoline."
What has happened to refinery capacity in the last 12-18 months to drive oil crazy? Have a number of refineries shut down? Which gas stations have run short?
Oil is paid for in USD and Bernanke's USD is worth less and less every day. That means more and more USD are required to pay for the same barrel of oil. For every 1% decline in the USD oil increase $4. You clearly have no idea about economics
I just happen to be disabled and have an awful lot of free time on my hands to research things of interest to me. Where did I say the dollar had no effect? Google petrodollar and learn about that. The first two diamond shamrock stations I went to this morning had nothing but premium and I finally found a shell station with regular. Refinery capacity is not driving crude oil prices crazy. The US dollar is certainly responsible for a lot of this but look up the enron loophole.
"The President claims that Congress has repeatedly blocked efforts to expand refinery capacity. Is there a refinery capacity shortage that is increasing the price at the pump?
A: No. Capacity has been expanding at existing refineries since 2001. Capacity at existing refineries increased during the Bush Administration by 1 million barrels per day from 2001 to early 2008, and estimates an additional 800,000 barrels a day of production will be added to existing refineries in the next three years"
P.S. Sorry I was a bit harsh with you I am somewhat sleep deprived but that is my problem and not yours. If your pm is not set to friends only let me know I will try to dig up an interesting speech a senator made a few days ago and send it to you.
crazycatfguy: You can send whatever you want. I haven't blocked you. But I'm an autodidact, and already quite well researched.
You need to properly factor in to your thinking two major points that render your main point basically moot:
(1) Oil priced in CRUDE barrels is what has been driving the price rises at the gas pump.
(2) The price of fuel is going up worldwide, and US refinery capacity - shortages or not - are wholly irrelevant outside the US, so it's NOT a refinery issue.
1. If the companies were merely passing along the increased price of oil to consumers would not their profits be relatively flat instead of record? Please watch the video I recommended. 2. She has statements from at least 3 oil ceo's that I can remember that say there is no market factor in play that would make oil any more than 55 dollars a barrel.
1: Oil company profit as a % of sales IS probably flat. As gross costs (ie crude prices) increase, their (relatively) fixed mark-up translates into higher gross profits. Plus, the oil companies are scum, and it wouldn't surprise me if they use increased crude costs as a way to hide a margin increase at their end
2: What video?? That statement from oil CEO's actually may be true. Oil was $3 in 1971. $10 of increase is due to real supply and demand factors. Rest due to monetary inflation factors
we are actually embargoing some of the biggest exporters of oil, for various reasons. for the first time in years, the security situation in iraq has improved enough to allow preduction to continue in the south, although it can only work at 1/3rd of it's pre-war capacity. the whole weak dollor argument comes from ron paul, and it ignores the fact that both prices and demand have exploded world-wide in recent years
"the whole weak dollor argument comes from ron paul"
That's because he's the only politician that both (1) knows anything about economics, and (2) is prepared to tell the truth, and blame the true cause: the Fed. You think the Bush admin will admit to being responsible for oil and food crises?
A recent OPEC report shows that for every 1% drop in the USD, oil rises $4:
watch?v=wLnAgiXOLug
Here's an explanation of the supply and demand versus monetary inflation aspects:
'war and profits'- war profit? can you not even hear what you are saying? there is no bigger crime than war for profit. and you are mad that others may get in on the 'action'? You are for freedom are you? well the majority of Iraqis want the US out- and thier wealth in oil to go to themselves- polls clearly show that by huge margins- so freedom lover, you better start protesting for 'democracy' which means the removal of foreign troops
post all the oil company's names that are in Iraq in your info box above please?

EasyEs 3 years ago
You lose, 1.7 trillion US war money wasted. Iraq has estimated one third of world's oil. Sudan has very little in comparison and more importantly it would join with its african neighbors to fight back. Now Bush is crying because he lost to Obama and can't steal Iraq's oil. When americans are thrown out, I advise Iraq not to sell US oil companies a drop and deal only with Russia.
Striker4928 3 years ago
The iraq was has cost so far 700 billion or so.
Iraq has perhaps 10-15% of the world oil.

EasyEs 3 years ago
Even better than that, retard. The latest geological surveys show Iraq has the world's LARGEST proven oil reserves, as much as 350 billion barrels. More than double what they formerly estimated and it exceeds that of Saudi Arabias 264 billion barrels of oil. And the US won't get one drop of Iraqi oil because of their crimes there.

oil IS the purpose on going into their war.
It serves for the creation of armed troop bases in iraq's oil lands to sustain private capital gains.

pushups2345 3 years ago
oil companies are advancing efforts to control iraqs oilfields to secure US access to iraqi oil and the wealth it generates. this is not a a "conspiracy theory", it is what is happening in reality. do you still believe that iraq has wmd's that are threatening the US with "mushroom cloud" or that sadaam has ties with al-qaeda? or do you believe that bush just decided one day that he wanted to free iraqis by turning their country into a divided and wartorn catastrophe?
jklasdfjdfksl 3 years ago
this was no mistake by the bush administration: the evidence has come out that US intellegence agencies, as well as other global agencies, knew before the war that iraq was not a threat; bush proceeded to create "working groups" to fabricate imagined threats based on faulty and unreliable stories created by the likes of challabi.
jklasdfjdfksl 3 years ago
the plan for control of iraq and its oil was in the works over a decade ago to open up its oil markets (this is called "democracy" in washington slang). cheney even suggested nuking baghdad to oust saadam and open the markets as a humanitarian gesture to save the lives of US troops. 911 just gave the bush criminals a chance to enact a step in a plan at regime change that went on through clinton, who murdered hundreds of thousands of iraqi children by weakening iraqi infrastructure
jklasdfjdfksl 3 years ago
oil companies getting profits and pumping the oil west is securing the economic future of the US and europe and sustaining their energy needs, it is certainly not doing anything for iraqis who are perfectly capable to industrialize their country and invest their oil profits for the benefit of iraqis. most iraqis want the US out and oil to remain in iraqi hands, they have no more need for the humanitarian efforts of the brutal US plutocrats (including obama's policy for permanent occupation).
jklasdfjdfksl 3 years ago
record oil prices and US aid (the US is responsible for all the results of their criminal war aggression and must pay reparations) should be directed at starting a national unifying effort for IRAQIS to control and develop their national wealth. they are capable people and do not need western companies doing it for them. iraq needs control of its oil for it to be a free nation. the increase of oil production needs to be achieved in a smart way, not by handing over what iraqis need to live.
jklasdfjdfksl 3 years ago
the US should also offer no interest loans, in addition to reparation and aid and technology, to help iraqis develop their own resources. starting events that resulted in the death and disintegration of a country will never be fully repaid, but this is the least the US can do and would go a long way to increasing US securty by showing the arab and muslim world that the US is sorry for its brutal, but purposeful aggression.
jklasdfjdfksl 3 years ago
put these oil control deals to a refferendum and ask the people democratically, oil companies will definately be expelled. there is no point on relying on representation when the politicians are far removed from the suffering of every day iraqis and are protected in the green zone and rely on the US for survival, they will represent the interest of their political class and support the economic policies US politicians want, not what iraqis want.

it was a well known fact that saddam had gotten rid of enough weapons in order for the sanctions to be lifted, and it was clear to the world that iraq and its people had been brutally killed and crippled by the UN sanctions.
jklasdfjdfksl 3 years ago
the only thing that stopped the UN from lifting the sanctions was a US veto during the clinton years. iraq had complied with the sanctions and the UN wanted to lift them while the US blocked the move and used cowardly terrorism to bomb civilian infrastructure to weaken iraq for regime change, while killing hundreds of thousands of iraqi children for US political and economic goals.
jklasdfjdfksl 3 years ago
what? timelines of the inspection process is available on the un websites. a un resolution demanding that iraq cooperate with the inspectors was passed every few years, about 14 of them, and saddam never fully cooperated with them (restricting access to buildings, burning documents, threatening the inspectors at gunpoint), and desert fox happened after saddam refused to cooperate and put the lives of the inspectors in danger, and it was millitary sites and susspected wmd sites that were bombed
pushups2345 3 years ago
well known to who? it was saddam who brutally killed his own people, and it was the world community that put the sanctions on iraq in the first place
pushups2345 3 years ago
this was by no means a "narrow" goal, it was over a decade in recorded planning while energy lobbys and pressure groups had been clamoring for it to cheney and their other minnions and been talking about iraqs expansive oil markets they wanted access constantly, even recorded in newspapers. believing the most probable and realistic answer is not a "conspiracy theory", its common sense. a lie like "democracy promotion", proven to be false by evidence, is a "conspiracy theory".
jklasdfjdfksl 3 years ago
the only thing that prevented the UN from determining that iraq had absolutely no WMDS was the US criminal war aggression against iraq, after it had long been determined by all intellegence agencies (including the US's) that iraq was no threat. the UN refused to believe powell's sideshow lies about iraq's weapons to rush to war because they followed evidence, not lies. saddam had allowed inspectors full access, but the US rushed to war to prevent the truth and execute their plan
jklasdfjdfksl 3 years ago
you need to do a little fact check here b/c their are tons of mistakes in here, and a lot of it is just plain paranoia
pushups2345 3 years ago
A fact check would show that: yes, there were more reasons to go into Iraq then wmds and oil. It isn't just oil or spread Democracy etc. it is a combination of many factors. There is a piece of writing with authors such as Cheney, Fukayama, and William Kristol to name a few, they wrote the "Project for a New American Century" during the 1990's. One of the main ideas is that if Democracy can be put into Iraq it would spread to the rest of the Mid-East. Of course, that did not occur.
duburn1 3 years ago
the "plans" you are talking about were war games,ie. operation desert crossing (which was prepared by gen. zanni, one of the leading voices against the invation in the run up to the war). all that energy lobby stuff you just said is paranoid crap, iraq's oil production was severly damaged during the invation, a prity strange thing to do if that was the main objuctive of the invation as you say. and nobody ever said democracy promotion was the main reason for the invation
pushups2345 3 years ago
im not talking about war games, i gave you specific plannings of high level goverment officials spanning over a decade that have long been a part of public knowledge; including dick cheneys promotion of nuclear strike on baghdad to open its markets. oil control is not about production levels, it is about who owns the oil and who has rights to the profits. the US wants ownership righs and profit access at the expense of iraqis or another ruler, something they could not get fully under saddam
jklasdfjdfksl 3 years ago
democracy promotion for US security was bush's justification after his wmd and terrorist lies were exposed, now the US government is pushing for oil laws that will put the national wealth in the hands of US economic elites and out of the hands of iraqis.... so much for democracy. US security is worse as hatred and terrorism towards US forces has spread like wildfire from the brutal aggression of the US.
jklasdfjdfksl 3 years ago
oil production is only useful to the US if they and their economic tentacles control the oil for their benefit; otherwise it can be used against them, like how russia pressures europe
jklasdfjdfksl 3 years ago
energy industry influence over the bush administration is not a conspiracy theory, it is plain fact to anyone familiar with the makeup of the bush administration, or how washington works (money greases the weels in washington by the buisness community getting behind politicians they want to win, just because its dirty does not mean its paranoid) and is the most obvious and simplest conclusion.
jklasdfjdfksl 3 years ago
government officials now openly run back to the rhetoric "protecting US energy interests" in iraq. if you think the most sensible explanation (oil interest), that republicans and democracts now openly speak of as a main reason for the occupation, then explain to me the most motivating factors for invading iraq; US security, democracy promotion, bin laden ties, etc. have all panned out to be false by evidence.... to believe these lies would be to believe in a "conspiracy theory"

This is actually a great thing, with gas prices high, iraq can make a ton of much needed money (and we here in the usa could do the same if we sold some of our oil reserves). and if it is successfull, gas prices will go back down for a bit (especially if we lift the ban on offshore drilling)
pushups2345 3 years ago
There is no oil production shortage, so bringing this Iraqi oil on line will not lower the price. The oil price is high because the US dollar is collapsing, thanks to Ben Bernanke flooding the world with USD to prop up an unsustainable US economy heading into an election year.
lastnymleft 3 years ago
There is a refining capacity shortage since environmentalist have not allowed a new refinery to be built in about 30 years. The unregulated futures trading is having a big effect on the price of oil and congress just a week ago or so decided to regulate it.
crazycatfguy 3 years ago
"There is a refining capacity shortage"
If that were the case, there would be gas stations that run out of fuel occasionally for lack of availability. That is NOT the case.
"since environmentalist have not allowed a new refinery to be built in about 30 years."
The oil companies themselves are the biggest hurdle to building a refinery. They don't want to.
"futures trading is having a big effect"
The people buying futures know that the USD is going to continue to be driven down by Bernanke.
lastnymleft 3 years ago
The refining capacity is the bottleneck between supply and demand hence the price of gasoline. Nonsense, the democrats are responsible for blocking refinery building. Futures trading encourages buying of oil and holding onto it until the price goes up. Do you ever bother to research anything or do you repeat what you read or hear?
crazycatfguy 3 years ago
"The refining capacity is the bottleneck between supply and demand hence the price of gasoline."
What has happened to refinery capacity in the last 12-18 months to drive oil crazy? Have a number of refineries shut down? Which gas stations have run short?
Oil is paid for in USD and Bernanke's USD is worth less and less every day. That means more and more USD are required to pay for the same barrel of oil. For every 1% decline in the USD oil increase $4. You clearly have no idea about economics
lastnymleft 3 years ago
I just happen to be disabled and have an awful lot of free time on my hands to research things of interest to me. Where did I say the dollar had no effect? Google petrodollar and learn about that. The first two diamond shamrock stations I went to this morning had nothing but premium and I finally found a shell station with regular. Refinery capacity is not driving crude oil prices crazy. The US dollar is certainly responsible for a lot of this but look up the enron loophole.
crazycatfguy 3 years ago
"The President claims that Congress has repeatedly blocked efforts to expand refinery capacity. Is there a refinery capacity shortage that is increasing the price at the pump?
A: No. Capacity has been expanding at existing refineries since 2001. Capacity at existing refineries increased during the Bush Administration by 1 million barrels per day from 2001 to early 2008, and estimates an additional 800,000 barrels a day of production will be added to existing refineries in the next three years"

crazycatfguy: You can send whatever you want.

'war and profits'- war profit? can you not even hear what you are saying? there is no bigger crime than war for profit. and you are mad that others may get in on the 'action'? You are for freedom are you? well the majority of Iraqis want the US out- and thier wealth in oil to go to themselves- polls clearly show that by huge margins- so freedom lover, you better start protesting for 'democracy' which means the removal of foreign troops
