Nice job , You might want to gear up your blower ,It will throw it out way better ,Thats how honda's bercomacs throw so far ,They have the blower pully geared to the moon.
am in the process of building on right now am thinking about using a 14.5 Ft-lb briggs and straton engine on a 2 stage 40" snowblower. was just wonder how wide you snowblower is? And do you think that engine would be enough it is about 10hp
You call that snow storm. I live in Ontario, the snow was half way up my door. I had to jump out the second story window into a snow bank to get out of my house.
Ha right, I built the dam thing at the end of winter and had to wait like 2-3 weeks for a storm. not worried... we have winter 2009 coming Hope it a killer I'm ready!!
I had to put a little larger pulley on my motor to spin up the snow blower a little faster to get it to throw the snow farther. The motor had plenty of power as it looks like yours does so maybe a larger pulley will help yours to?
How do you find cornering with the blower down? I am in the process of designing a similar blower for my Arctic Cat and am wondering if mounting the engine behind the quad would be better for cornering.
its good riding on the caster wheels, BUT if its all the way down to the ground "Scraping" then i holds back a little, I have 4 wheel drive so it not that bad, i keep it up off the ground a pencil thickness and works great. Yes it would keep it lighter in the front if you put the engine in the back. how would you turn the auger?
My snowblower total costs for the design and construction were 2000 EUR. But I didn`t use any old snowblowers like you. All the theory came from my head and the purpuse of my build was to draw production plans so that I earn a Degree in mechanical engineering. Youre snowblower work is only a product which has worked in the past and you only had to redisgn the mounting to the ATV, and I agree that does not cost much.
Thanks Garett, yeah thats the only snowstorm since I finished building it. I need 1-2 feet to give it a real test. Hows your 1968 Simplicity? did you get to use it a lot this winter.

Looking foreward to seeing what kind of cab you come up with , I think its a great idea , seems most atv'ers rather ride cold than have any shelter .
heartland96a 2 years ago
yeah the sell ATV aftermarket cabs BUT they are $150 to 200 bucks, I built the snow blower for less then 300. I think I'll stay cold for now..ha
Thanks

looks like it works good show put a bigger pulley on engine so it spins faster with throw the snow farther or swith the 2 pulleys aroun
sdylke 2 years ago
Your right I could play with the pulleys I might do it soon. but am kinda lazy, you know the saying if it works leave it alone. maybe this spring.

rig the front so they dont work and when you come up to a corner hit the brakes and drift into the corner lol
