  • "Analytical roundabout", I don't know why but I LOVE that expression!

  • I know what you mean about that expression, it's good isn't it?

I think several people might start using that after seeing this video :)

  • Thank goodness you were stopped and driving slowly. Yeah being on the road and that happening would have been horrible.

  • Some people have suggested that it might not have been too bad to have been travelling at speed. I'm not so sure. I'm sure pleased we were stationary when it happened! :)

  • looks like all 3 of you have a lot to thank your wife for!

  • Definitely. I've been trying to get her to watch these 3 videos to get her to understand it all :)

  • That is the Ruby Tuesday at which we ate during the killer storm 2 years ago. At least the hotels are very near. The tie rod failure could have been pretty bad on the interstate. Fortune smiled on thee.

  • "The Killer Storm" that sounds a bit ominous!

So you have a connection to Elizabethtown as well, isn't that weird?

It was good meeting you Scott & thanks for your company on our walk around Nashville. That was a good day.

Thanks for subscribing as well, i appreciate it :)

  • ohh lol i dint reakise it before i thought u was all sitting on the bed with the qualt on you thats why i thought it looked a bit gay lmo sorry bout that still does a tiny bit tho x haha

  • Gary should have let you drive Andy since there are more roundabouts across the pond. Lol.

  • That's very true. Apparently roundabouts are starting to become more widespread in the USA now :)

  • I realise I need to go and watch Part 1 on Gary's but it looked like you are having fun, very chilled out actually!:)

  • We had a great time Anthony & yes, it was pretty chilled. It was just so easy to get along with Gary & Mike, just what i'd hoped & expected :)

  • It is good that you weren't going 80 when it busted!! Thanks, Grams

  • That's something we tried not to think about, but it does make you wonder. I think we were very lucky really.

Great meeting you at ST2 btw :)

  • I'm glad you weren't on the highway when the tie rod broke, or it could have been curtains for you guys.

  • Yes, Mike summed it up when he said we may well owe our lives to my wife. I always knew she'd come in handy one day ;)

  • Analytical roundabout....*snicker*

I have to say, though, VERY glad y'all weren't on the highway when that rod went.

  • Roundabouts did seem to come up in our conversation rather a lot i must admit. Maybe that's because we tended to keep talking in circles :)

  • OMG! Musosf just sounded like CM laughing!!!! Right at 4:08. Dang. Smiley:D

  • I have to go & check that out again. I must say, Mike does have quite a unique laugh :)

  • lol i hope u dont take this offensively but it looks like u 3 are kinda gay lol

  • Glad Elizabeth led you to Elizabethtown. Down the road, this will be a great conversation piece for Gary and he too will see the poetry in it. :)

The main thing is no one was hurt - and you soon went on your way again.

  • Thanks Danny. We have already realised that this was actually an interesting experience. We are also agreed that the incident allowed us to see & do something we hadn't planned. Mike has already started to write a song about our experiences & we've also shot some footage for the video!! :)

  • You guys are very lucky, indeed. You will get there, and with some real stories to tell.

  • Oh yes, we have some great stpries to tell because of this. When we arrived at SouthTube nearly everybody knew about it & wanted to hear the story :)

  • You guys travel safe! :0)

  • Thank you. We got here safe & sound :)

  • So the Tie-rod broke? That's a simple fix. I repaired that many a time on my old car. only takes a few minutes to repair that, but then you have to realign the wheels. Hope y'all make it to you destination safely without any more car issues. *hugs* Later luv! =^.^=

  • Gary actually got both tie rods fixed, just in case. They also found a nail in one of the tyres! :)

  • Good thinkin. I'm glad they noticed a nail in the tire as that could've been really bad. I hope y'all have a really safe trip! If you happen to pass through NJ let me know. =-.^=

  • oh no! Did the trio have enough material to make a third video of reasonable length?

Let's find out in part 3!

    ~Samar

  • I hope that now you've seen Part 3 you think we did have the material :)

  • youll get there in the end.

  • We did Stuart, it just took a little longer than planned! :)

  • Gary - scary stuff happens all the time and I figure it's meant to freak you out a bit, but you just thank whoever you personally thank and file it under Cool Anecdotes.

    Glad you're OK. Very glad.

Now that I think of it, it'd be unlikely for the tie-rod to fail while you're going in a straight line anyway. I figure it'd have to be loaded up somewhat.

  • Now it's behind us, i think we all realise that it's actually a good story that we can tell :)

  • I'm not sure there's much to learn there at all, Andy LOL

  • How's the head this morning? :)

  • LOL

    Good meeting you, Andy.

  • It was great meeting you as well. The gang of 4 really rocked :)

  • Good thing to make it a better moment Gary! You guys could be driving in high speed so it's a good thing to think and be happy about it!

  • We're all very thankful that it turned out the way it did. It could have been a lot worse :)

  • Gary needs a brain & foot rub. Since you're there Andy.. it's your turn.. LOL

  • I'm not sure i want to get quite that close Maria!! :)

  • HAHAHA!!! Secretly... (he scares me, too!!) LOL

  • *coughs*

  • how you dorin'?

  • You guys should stop in Cincy on your way back :P

  • I love a good saga:)))

  • Happy to oblige, i think... :)

  • You guys are a scream I'm so glad you're there in the middle Andy. I was going to say that because I've met you I now have a perspective on how big Gary is. However in this shot he's sitting closer to the screen and there's a wierd Lord of the Rings thing going on with sizes! Yay to your wife I have a copy of Elizabethtown in my collection of course. Cheers, Lesley

  • It's a hard job keeping Gary & Mike apart, but somebody's got to do it. It's funny how we all look the same size on screen. One of the first things we all said to each other was how we looked bigger, or smaller than we'd thought.

That movie may well have saved us from something a lot worse! :)

  • Better Elizabethtown than Deliverance LOL. L

  • Too right. The theme tune from Deliverance has been mentioned by all 3 of us over the past couple of days. I can't think why? :)

  • squeak piggy squeak. OK I should be in bed but I'm passed it so what time is it over there? L

  • love the analytical metaphors in this one :) Andy, welcome to the United States! It seems that only a week ago, you were in Spain! Have fun in Tennessee!

  • I've been very lucky too have done so much travelling recently. Thanks for the welcome, i'm having a great time so far :)

  • Did you have some Ruby Tuesday guacamole, then buy a Ukulele? No?

    Nerdfighter Joke.

  • No guacamole, but Mike has got two tambourines with him. Does that count? :)

  • Looks as though you are keeping the peace quite well. Good luck!

  • It's not easy sometimes, i can tell you! ;)

  • Awesome Video Andy.

Your all so funny and so cool.

  • Thanks Luke :)

  • DESTINY!

  • Maybe. Now we can look back on it, we realise that actually we all got something out of the experience & an experience that we would not have had otherwise :)

  • life is full of surprises, but I have to say *ahem* as a girl

this was such a great vid

elizabethtown, and your wife (elizabeth) loves the movie and you get stuck their with your buds, priceless...

  • You're VERY fortunate you weren't on the road going 80mph when that tierod blew.

And don't get me started on that debate! I slept through it (long day, needed a nap), then tried to watch it replay on some CSPAN site, but couldn't tolerate Palin and her "maverick" talk. Wanted to scream. So I had to close the browser and forget about it.

Glad you're all safe and sound, and you'll be in Nashville before ya know it.

    :-)

  • Hehehe, I fell asleep on the debate about 15 minutes into it.
