Do find the version Leonard gives in recent concerts in which he only recites it and then lets the Webb Sisters 'unfold the song'.

They must not only listen to the character of the music but also the deep rooting meaning of these emotions Leonard Cohen was gracious enough to release for us to share. Perhaps they're scared of the bitter truth, I don't blame them for being scared but one must face the unwanted before they can conquer it, and that is exactly what Leonard did with this song & so many others.
