  • I remember seeing them in Italy, right after Lemonade and Brownies. Was dragged there by some bitches enamoured with the half-naked & handsome singer, crowd was small but enthusiastic, and the pogo, man, we crushed some bones that night. I got the album off one of the aforementioned bitches, and it was cool. A few months later Floored came out, and my reaction was meh, except for Fly who was so radio-friendly, it was easy to see it break the chart. And then they became a pop group and whatever.

  • this is the best thing i've found out about these guys, this is amazing :D

  • This song is awesome chick those days need to listen to some real music thumps up if you agree

  • i liked ''Words to me'' better then there old work :D

  • this is so damn good

  • best Sugar Ray song no doubt

  • i met the bass player from sugar ray once

  • correct me if i'm wrong, but didn't sugar ray play one of the early edgefests?? either '94 or '95...it was the year that it was super cold and rainy at the molson amphitheatre...

  • @scrimer.. lethal is the shit!!!! i used to love sugar ray till they got soft,,,,this album still makes me rage!!!!

  • remember crazy town..

  • Adamantium Mic

  • i feel greed destroyed sugar ray back in 03...

  • the day Sugar Ray goes back to mellow songs is the day their songs will get stuck in my head again

their harder stuff is good too, but not something I'd listen to 5 times in a row :D

  • @cdmadahan True.

  • Is the guitar player in red....he's the same guitarist that went on to join Flaw right?

  • in 2011 ALL Sugar Ray songs are old aren't they?

  • For people bashing Sugar Ray for there pop stuff, many people never would have heard their Punk stuff if it wasn't for the Pop songs. I only knew them by Fly until I bought Floored and discovered the harder stuff, which then led me to the Lemonade and Brownies. The whole point of them changing the style was to get more people into there music OVERALL.

  • The cool thing about Sugar Ray was they were just different and had the Cali vibe mixed with Hard Rock.

  • Sugar Ray at their best. Great tune.

  • dont hate on fly. you wouldnt listen to this if you never heard fly.

  • @RyanG96CKM lol sorry buds didnt mean 2 dis your song. thumbs up if u think " Old sugar ray > New sugar ray

  • @RyanG96CKM Not everyone is a "FLY era" faggot. I saw these guys in 1995 on tour with Korn & Deftones.

  • we need more songs like this...

  • @spartan17696 the 90's are gone

  • yea they used 2 b good, then they came out with that gay "i just wanna fly" song i dunno what happend. its like the old black eye peas theyr old stuff was good then furgie joined and well u know the rest...main stream pop kill great talent

  • @kikabiotch You're absolutely right, man.

  • Oh s..t fantastic song

  • Early RHCP + RATM combined, anyone?

  • sugar ray are a great band

  • i fuckin loveeeeeeeeeee this song

why isnt music this fun to listen to nowadays?!

  • Dude sugar ray used to be heavy what happened?

  • When push come to shove! kick ass!

  • Hands down, this song is a fucking masterpiece. Never get old.....one of my dreams is that Sugar Ray start again doing this kind of music: I don't give a shit if they're all in their mid 40s, I'm totally sure they could still kick lots of fucking ass in this shitty nowadays music industry. I mean, just check one of the videos from the concert they did last August as the "Shrinky Dinx"...

  • What the fuck happened to sugar ray?...

  • before sugar ray was gay

  • @remzroller9 hey there modern music is still the shit...

  • Considering this vintage sound and attitude, they could have been the next big thing ...

Why the hell did they turn so bad after their 2nd album ????

    What a waste.

  • Comment removed

  • Great album. Even the cover rocks.

  • sugar ray ...you were once awesome.

  • Kick ass

  • Why couldn't Sugar Ray keep making fuckin' sick shit like Lemonade and Brownies?? Floored was good as well, but this album is in my top ten of all time favorites. SHRINKY DINX 4-LIFE!

  • @dmichael1986 I think it even reach my top 5 man! Was listening to my old Floored record earlier today and thought, hey what ever happened to them. Well Mark McGRath apparently to some stupid ass TV-shows etc. Gaah! Those guys were my heroes. Like somebody else said here. What a waste!

Iron Mike have to be their finest moment

  • This song is a masterpiece, but I just can't stand the singer's moves...

  • I wanna get this song so bad! But too bad it's not on itunes and they probably don't sell the album in stores anymore! :(

  • @mall168 umm Amazon...

  • I like Sugar Ray better when they were a Punk band back in the 90's. But they do have quite a few Pop songs that I think are pretty good.

  • this is way back when ... when Sugar Ray was still a good band.. SORRY GUYS! yall may have made a bigger name and more money when you changed, but this shit WAS THE SHIT!

  • Ya know, despite what everyone else seems to say, I still like the Pop version of Sugar Ray as well as the Punk version of them.

  • Awesome old skool tune! What happened to these guys?

  • i guess it's a ode to hip-hop...

  • @BagpipeHustler Maybe I'm taking it too literally, but everything in the song is a direct reference to Mike Tyson...

  • Iron Mike was his nick name

  • Iron Mike was his nick name

  • Iron Mike was his nick name

  • this song would be great in a stoner comedy...idk why

sugar ray is amazing tho...and this is one of my favorites from them

  • @sTUPIfy308 its taht bassline at the start that does it in my view.

  • @jazman170 yeah same here...and how the whole song is just chill

  • @sTUPIfy308 totally - i put it on to just serenade me into a nice calm state rather than the usual american rip-your-head-off-while-incoherently-growling-like-a-rabid-dog so called metal scene.if there is a new stoner movie coming out or any stoner scenes this has to be the song to compliment it.i can imagine that bassline being used as an intro to a stoner movie and as the guitar kicks in it plays into a cloud of smoke, making way for chain weed-smokers as the song softens in the background.lol.

  • @jazman170 definitely

  • sugar ray molaba entonces..

  • they sound a bit like Jane's Addiction here!!

    that's weird man... looking back

  • 'IM WAITING!!!'

  • awesome fucking riff!! They should of stuck with this kind of music instead of going pop, maybe they'd still be around if they didn't sell out. Now there useless to the record companies, plus look at Mark Mcgraf now he's all on that one tv show hosting and shit LOL

  • whahhh!! it really sucks me!!!

    i love this band!!!!

  • Lol dude the early 2000's (especially till2002) were almost completley about rap. Most Rock in the early 2000's was shit and even most bands that have become to be well known in the 2000's either werent discovered yet or haddnt been formed. In my Opinion after the 90's it ended and woodstock 99 pretty much proved it.

  • disagree with you their were alot of good bands in the earlie 2000, Darwins Waiting Room, Relative Ash, Kittie, Drain STH, Hed Pe, Insolence, soulfly put out some of their best stuff then. So yeah bro I totally disagree with you completely.

  • music's quality has been spiraling downward for a long time, but the biggest drop was after the 90's. There are still good bands and artists who've managed to keep their integrity, but the best kind of music is the underground unsigned stuff that hasn't been tainted by record companies

  • Okay, maybe early 2000s wasn`t about rap and r&b but I`m defiantly sure they were forgotten at 2002. Answer the phone and Mr. Bartender failed in public. I really don`t know why they won`t make a music video for their new album, I`m just mad about it.

  • i wish ratm would get together with sugar ray and do a tour but only if sugar ray plays this stuff and not their pop music. and also bloodhound gang but early stuff.

  • great song of Sugar ray

  • no no no. Sugar ray sold out in early 2000s because people were getting caught into rap and randb not rock or soft or metal. now it`s rap and pop and a little of rock. Mark (sugar ray) made a great new album not to me but to what the environment likes nowadays but they were too damn lazy and inconfident to do a music video.

  • @Chai0628 everything that you said was so off i don't know where to begin

  • yeah.... thats sad that sugar ray dosent relese CDs nomore.... but they still ROCK!!

  • they just sold out. thats y there not making hits anymore. unlike bands that was at the same time as them like korn, def tones that sticked to there roots

  • because 6 or 7 albums of jonathan davis crying about being raped is awsome. shit gets old time to move on , same reason i dont listen to disturbed any more every song started to sound the same.

  • This song is about mike tyson haha I just figured that out

  • Fuck whoever gave me a thumbs down. It is about Mike Tyson douche bag.

  • that dj is dj lethal!!

  • @scrimer01 Yes!!! :D

  • @scrimer01 this is the only song he did with sugar ray

  • sugar ray...told me life is all about drinking.

  • @ratmachine87 Limp Bizkit!

  • @ratmachine87 This song is starting my St. Patrick's Day \m/

  • Lemonade & Brownies is awesome now and always. I love all Sugar Ray's music. I'm just mad at Mark McGrath, he was supposed to marry me....just cos he doesn't know me isn't any excuse! lol

  • This album was awesome back then.

  • sugar ray hated the song "fly"...but it got them money...who cares...lol...mark mcgrath is a major slayer fan...hey you gotta pay the bills

  • then why are most of their songs after fly pretty much the same. BS excuse.

  • man, these guys are good at everything they do

  • They are mainly in it to make money, no to please you.

If you want to live off Music you have to "sell out" at some point

  • I gotta say that homeboy always got a great sound out of his Les Paul,..these dudes were from the last wave of bands that actually had to tour AND play to get signed,..SR is always good for a few spins,..'kick ass!'

  • Lol @ people still wining about Sugar Ray "selling out". That was 12 fricking years ago people. Get over it.

You didn't really expect them to be playing juvenile punk songs over a decade later, did you?

EVERY album Sugar Ray ever made is filled with variety...even their old "hardcore" rock albums had light hearted "pop" songs on them. "Danzig", "Hold Your Eyes", and "Scuzzboots" were on their first album way before "Fly" and "Every Morning" even existed.

  • i really like the fact that their songs are filled with variety. i don't just like them for their famous songs, i like "high anxiety", "stand and deliver" and "sorry now" they have so many good songs

  • damn I remember this from my early childhood, nice! :) I'm in my late childhood now...

  • sounds a bit like rage.

  • really? wow didn't think he was still going...what genre of music does he do now? like the sort of genre he did with the song "every morning" or did he go bk to metal? thanks for the response btw :)

  • shit man sugar ray was a looker...wonder how old he is now...

  • Mark is looking good... he was an awesome frontman but now you can catch him on ET !?

He still does done gigs in LA, so he's still got it...

  • fyi... his name is not sugar ray its mark (with a k not a c) mcgrath

  • sugar ray is a band not a guy. the singer's name is mark mcgrath.

  • the Old ones are much better.

  • I swear if these guys wud jus make another hard album like their old stuff then it wud b really big and sucessful. I dont see y they shud continue 2 make mellow stuff, there last record didnt do that good and wat they have sold out and gotten famous for has pretty much seen the spotlight and is now outta it.

  • Stuf like this happens to a lot of bands, a good example is Stonesour, theyre a heavy band, but many people have only heard their song Through Glass.

  • I don't think they sold old. They are softer in the recent albums, but that's because they are older and more mature. They don't play Mean Machine and Iron Mic at every show because they moved on from those years.

  • why compared bands, sugar ray, owns, you can go jerk off to incubus albums lol jk jk, there 2 diff bands wtf kiddos

  • Umm Incubus evolved & continues to change to musical style & experiment. Ray niether past & surely not present do not hold and match on Incubus.

And if you wanna talk about going soft Incubus still can tear it (the song Light Grenades is fucking brutal)

  • probably that too

  • this reminds me of incubus. these guys were gawesome then they changed their style. the only difference between them is that sugar ray is still good

  • Incubus are waaayyy better and were way better and Incubus at least plays rock still. Sugar Ray completely sold out and did well one CD doing that, then no. Now they're nothing and people still love Incubus.

  • gotta disagree. if i had a choice to get a new incubus cd or sugar ray id buy 10 sugar ray cd's. Incubus is a snore fest with their music. :)

  • honestly please go listen to New Skin off their S.C.I.E.N.C.E album and then make that comment that shit is harder then Sugar Ray's hardest shit and Sugar Ray ripped their sound off from Phunk Junkeez anyway in So. Cali back in early to mid '90s

  • Man I thought everyone forgot Phunk Junkeez, good call mate. Great 90's band right there

  • Just because a band changes there style doesn't mean the "sold out" I bet it gest pretty boring playing the same kinda shit all the time. I'm sure they wouldn't write songs they didn't like.

  • oh please a change like that is only to make money, you don't go from a band like this to that pussy shitty pop shit than go to host a tabloid gossip show

  • Whoa. Why'd they go out of this rockish stuff? I'm not complaining, this stuff sucks if you ask me, but, its kind of opposite of what they do now. Huh

  • Cause they had the one hit Fly, and they did that style cause they saw that it was a hit and all. Plus people said they were gonna be a one hit wonder, so they tried to prove people wrong

  • What they should have done was record two or three radio worthy songs on each album following Floored, but make the rest of the album high energy hard rock for their old school fans. That might have worked.

  • the best song off the best album they ever made.

  • Mega Man!

  • "All my wives" sample is so much win on so many levels. I miss this Sugar Ray, even if I love their pop sound, too.

  • oh, the 90's

  • yeah lots o peple dont know that they used to do rocknroll but they tried pop once near the end of 199 so the 21st century only knows the soft acoustic sugar ray. they kept going with pop for some reason, but their first songs rock. chech out 10 seconds down it rocks 2

  • whooooooa, this is crazy! man, when i hear of Sugar Ray, i usually think of, u know, all that acoustic soft stuff, but i NEEEEVER thought that they had ever wrote hard rock. this changes my image of these guys. this stuff actually sounds kinda badass.

they'r sound during this time sounds 2 me kinda like RATM or Saliva, only still kinda unique. and their image during this time looks 2 me kinda like Breaking Benjamin. i swear the vocalist just somehow kinda givs me the image of Breaking Benjamin

  • he looks better with blond hair don´t you think? he is awsome! I love his ears , is nose and his asshole!

  • i know well i dunno bout his asshole.

    lol

  • Thank god for youtube, I really like mean machine back in the day and assumed that after "fly" they had just sold out or some shit, it's cool cause i'm just now discovering the rest of their catalogue... good rock band.

  • man they were awesome. i was only like 8 or 9 when they came out big, but i love them. too bad mark mcgrath is a sell out now.

  • JEsus christ if you have a little dignity left in your ZERO musical "brain"

Dude this was WAY BEFORE LInking park or limp biskit.. please research before posting .. dont confirm your ignorance. wow i wonder you are not a music critic for living ha ha ha

  • My favorite Sugar Ray song off my favorite Sugar Ray album. Nothing will match the intensity and unbridled awesomeness of this record.

  • Thanks. the music was inspired by Curtis Mayfields " Pusher " and Rage Against the Machine (friends of ours from grade school )

  • what record is he scratchin, anyone recognize it?

That's DJ Lethal on this album, right?

  • yes thats Dj Lethal, he produced this record for us. he's scratching a record of an old 70's black stand-up comedian.

  • I love These Guys They Fucking Rock Old music or there new music They R my Fav Band Ever!!! I hope 2 God They Make a New Album : )

  • damn damn damn i really want this album...

  • i know me too but my mom wouldnt let me buy it cuz the cover is kinda innaproppiate.

  • WTF?! Im sorry for budding in but, "innaproppiate". Are you serious? HAHAHAHAH OMG DUDE GO BUY IT IF YOU LIKE, YOUR 18 ALREADY. IT YOU LIFE, HAHAHAHAHAHA INNAPROPPIATE HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

(sorry for budding in, but i just couln't help my self)

  • well im not 18 lol

dont worry for budding in i do that too. lol

and i dindt mean to say innapropiate i just couldnt find a word for it lol

  • ok its cool

  • do you mean 'butting in'?

    Or am I talking English?

  • this song rocks!

  • before limp bizkit, linkin park, etc. Sugar ray was alive! they are the creator of this style, just too more in advance

  • naj za je bi st szy kawałek sugar ray' a

  • they were cool now there "pop"....

MICHEAL JACKSON WAS POP thats why i HATE pop

(he "likes" little kids, im 13 and thats messed up)

  • lern not2be prejudice

  • ya dude, micheal jackson is cool, just listen to his music without thinking like you do now

  • No, people think he likes kids.

Don't believe all you hear, he was acquited. (I think/Hop)

  • been years since i heard this song, awesome stuff. remember them on tv promoting this.

  • these guys were so before their time

  • esto´parece lomp bizkit :(

  • sera q limp bizkit se parecen a esto , este disco es del 95 , q recuerdos!!, three... del 97

  • Sadly, Linkin Park has sold out as well. Not even half the songs on "Midnights to Midnight" have the same edge as the albums Meteora and Hyrbid Theory. They owe their original fanbase (which includes me) an apology lol.

  • yeah wtf they're posers, they're not rapcore anymore, they could've done something with that.

  • except for the lol, they do.

  • this is an awesome song

  • I love their old stuff, now they suck!

  • I agree 100%, lemonade and brownies has always been the best of their cds, from 14:59 on they have sadly sucked. Sold out to sell more.

  • I dug Lemonade and Brownies, liked Floored and even 14:59 there was enough of 'them' to make me think, "This new direction isn't bad.." Glory and stuff, different but alright.

I gotta agree with the concensus here tho, everything since is terrible. Good on em for raking in the cash tho!

  • Its a good thing they switched to pop cuz theyre one of the first bands u think of when u think about the 90s along with third eye blind

  • I'm glad they sold out, to be honest. They are making money doing it too. They released Lemonaide and Brownies and that was good enough as far as doing stuff they wanted to do.

As far as what they like to play, they always at least 7 songs off this album at every live show. That should tell you want they really want to do. They play the pop to pay the bills and live large.

    Smart guys.

  • FUcken Neo Metal Platinum Gay .... Worst song of Sugar Ray

  • this is the worst sugar ray song?.?.?.?. Have you listened to the other cds

  • yes it's really bad, but you gotta love that bassssssssssssssssssssssssssss

  • okay okay fine, but you gotta LOVE THA BASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

  • Metal or PopRock, I still like 'em. They always rock out somethin' righteous.

  • amazing band, amazing release
