wow, this ad really brings back a dim memory of my childhood. im 51 now and i have always thought of this commercial when ever i hear some one say the words, platinum blonde.
i also have a dim memory of a tropical fruit lifesaver ad where a bimbo in a fur coat says, "tangerine"
The doorman is the late Mike Mazurki, the pro wrestler-turned-character actor.
"Midnight Brown" is Joanna Cameron, who starred in "The Secrets of Isis," a Saturday morning kids' show in the 70s, that for obvious reasons, had a big following with dads as well.
actually not Kroft, but Filmation, Filmation was better known for its animated hits - the Archies, Fat Albert & He-Man, but DID have live action like Shazam!, Isis, Ark II, Space Academy & Jason of Star Command
This one predates the ads I remember (which were the ones with the "For Brunettes Only" jingle of the other spot) but this is still a great one! I am pretty sure the brunette at the 12 second mark who says "midnight brown" is Joanna Cameron, later the star of the Saturday morning live-action show "Isis."
I know..........fast type... short thought..... typo
Same with "Affect" "effect"
Same with "too" or "to"

Blondes can also enter as long as there not drag queens.
robphilll 2 years ago 2
@robphilll As long as "their" not drag queens moron! Not there!
mark40511 3 months ago
@mark40511 Actually it is "they're." As long as "they are" not drag queens. How hard is it?
They're = they are
Their = ownership or attribution- their hat, their shirt, their house, their team
There = place- let's go there, put it over there, how long were you there?
Be careful in calling someone a moron on youtube, you might find that you have to eat crow.

Is "For Brunettes Only" still around?

There are "For Brunettes Only" hairstyling products and shampoos and conditions that you can only find in Sally's beauty supply stores.
But I never found the haircolor product of it. I don't think they have the hair dye anymore.

I love this commercial. I've never known such a haircolor product for Brunettes only in those days ( I wasn't even born yet in 1971)...
Midnight Brown (that's the shade I have now. I love it). Thanks for posting this.

Yep. I recall them playing back-to-back on Saturday mornings.

Ms. Cameron also appeared in the 1969 Bob Hope/Jackie Gleason flick "How to Commit Marriage."
