@HetfieldJames90 Spartans were Bi-sexual btw and if your going 2 hate on the phalanx then I would assume you were smart enough to notice it was a underhand Macedonian Phalanx not a overhand Greek phalanx and sheilds wern't large enough to interlock.... also its a video made by highschool kids its not going 2 be perfect, btw im 13
I noticed many flaws in their organization...so under, or overhand is the least of their problems
A well trained group of pikemen is unbeatable, that's why it survived until the late 16 hundreds, it was overtaken by the appearance of gun powder that made them obsolete. But roman legions were faaaar more mobile, and could fair better. Cheers!
@AllanGarcia88 Yes ,but the spartans chose there own symbols...like at thermopoly a spartan asked his comrad why he had a fly on his shied,he replied"Because when the enemy come near i will make this fly seem as a lion to them,"

@flamingskeletondude i think you learn to much from video games, the A is Alexander the Great, Both greece and Macedon hailed him as a lord, and therefore BOTH used the emblem.
@555roc The A on their shields is the sun of macedon? Weird i did research a few years ago in 8th grade and it said it was for Alexander the great, and i know he was great in the both greece and macedons eyes.
@flamingskeletondude Actually, they are using the proper emblem. The lambda IS NOT the letter "A", it was a symbol that represented a region in sparta called lakedaimon. They used this symbol years before Alexander was even born. And the Macedonians used the Macedonian Sun as their symbol not the lambda.
@SoccerFury08 Actually Lakedaimon was the whole region also known as Lakonia in modern day, Sparta as a city was in fact the union of four major villages!
Lol @ People judging a History Class's "Lets do it for the shits and giggles" performance like its some high budget made material that they should have trained for weeks for so it can be perfect.

@Metal666Blade I should of said that the infantry formation was similar to the Greek phalanx pre-battle of Cannae, mis-wording on my part. The Roman formation shared some of the same weaknesses of the Phalanx: lack of flexibility and weak at rear and flanks...

@Caveman135 well didnt pompey use it around that time when he invaded western asia and fought the parthians I mean even heavy parthian calvary had problems ramming the roman lines because their lines were so well held.
@Caveman135 Oh also the battle when the romans fought the britons and they had some silly warrior queen I believe they also used a phalanx with heavy infantry to win a decesive battle against the briton united tribes.
I always wondered if the empire of rome still has existed, if Greece and Rome (maybe Carthago) were allies. Just guessing now :P (A), btw, its really awesome, Looks a bit like L.A.R.P. :P
well didn't they really, Europe, USA, Australia... well i agree with you, then there maybe would never have been a world war... All those lives which would have been spared if there had been peace then...
Roman Legionaries are superior in infantry fighting to Greek Levies. Not to mention completely different periods. The Marius reforms happened over 200 years after Roman troops stormed Greece.
