  • oops.. friendly fire :) what i meant to ask was should Ethiopia aspire to achieve a western version of ideal democracy? and, in addition, in view of the spectacular unravelling of the American capitalist economy we are currently witnessing, i wonder who is to lecture whom about achieving "economic development" !Gamecock, arn't we all making it up as we go along? so, when comparing Ethiopia's 3,000 years with Americas, who has longer to go really? who should be learning from whom? i wonder..

  • Well you are certainly right about doing more than staying in a coffee shop and talking about things- you have to actually do them. You have to campaign for change, and volunteer- and yes either working or interning, or visiting your Senator certainly can change the political dynmaics. Ethiopia has a long ways to go until they truly achieve economic development and a western version of ideal democracy.
