  • i done a spring in Florida 110' and the first thing i see them screwing up on is going in without rope ..........then the no 1 biggest killer........they are kicking the shit out of the bottom. idiots

  • Jesus, an hour on one tank? What size tanks are they using and how many are they carrying. I usually get about 30-40 mins off one tank, and that is me just swimming along normally, if I was under stress and trapped in a cave I would probably have used that air a lot faster.

  • if you listen closley at 4:32 you can hear a duh noise like the one in scooby do

  • I stopped the video at 3.58. this is way to scary for me to watch!

  • I learned how to dive there in Devil's Den... you couldn't pay me to go into the caves!

  • I'm a diver and cave diving is the most dangerous type... Cave diving should never be attempted without training, a dive partner and a guide rope.... If you don't have all three then don't do it !!

  • 4.31 Comic sound effect WTF

  • if you get in a cave without training, then you relly set ur life in a game. Never do anything that you do not have training for and even if you have training for it never do somthing you do not feel confident with. that stands in the Padi Open wather diver book that is the first diving theory book. diving is allways safe as long as you follow the safty rules

  • Any certified diver has been told not to enter caves or even caverns without proper training. What these people did is very, very foolish and the exact reason why you should not enter a cave without the proper training. Dive shops should show video's like this during basic training.

  • How on earth did they recreate this?

I would've had nightmares if I saw this as a kid.

  • Yeah, if they didn't have the training or equipment, then the shouldn't of gone in, and this whole scenario would of been avoided.

  • XxTodesengelxx : It's because these people just don't have respect for the water! So senseless!

  • I know a guy trained in cave diving. I asked him why someone without training would want to go into a cave.

He said it's b/c the cave's a hole and it's dark in there. Everybody wants to go inside and explore it.

He also said most people who go in caves without training don't come back out alive.

  • I think Rescue 911 has dispelled any desires I may have had about swimming into a cave, especially without proper equipment/training.

  • @vickiormindyb it is true what your friend said about

[He said it's b/c the cave's a hole and it's dark in there. Everybody wants to go inside and explore it.

He also said most people who go in caves without training don't come back out alive.]

Even for me experienced diver i wont go in a watery cave without a spotter with me

  • This episode is one of my favourite <3

Sends chills down my spines every time i see it...

That's my number one most horrible way of dying.

  • I can honestly say this one thing I will NEVER do!

  • They were lucky someone was there that could help them or there would be 3 people dead, not 1. I would also bet that these three would have found a cave to go in on thier own. There are many cave systems that are easy to get to, shallow and clear all over Florida. I did not think you were rude, I just wanted to stick up for all of the good instructors out there.

  • lol at the soundaffect on 4:33

    DONG!

  • omg i use to love this show!!!! I watched it all the time when i was 5!!!!!

  • u dont bludy go in caves!

  • wow, intelligent...dive instructor tells you to go up, everybody else goes into the cave... I just find it so obvious that something bad is going happen if you don't follow the instructions given by somebody who has more experience than you... but also the dive instructer's reaction "there's nothing I could do about it"... she could have gone back down...

  • Sorry - I disagree. She told ADULTS to come up. She was not trained to be in a cave either. The instructor did the correct thing. She COULD have gone back, but she did not have enough air or equipment. Why have another diver in the water with a problem?? These divers were selfish and inconsiderate.

  • Well, if she wasn't trained for cave diving, why did she lead a group of adults into the cave in first place? It's everybody's fault.; the adults for not listening and coming up at the given time(and for going cavediving without proper training), but particularily the instructor, for taking responsability of leading the group in a place where even the most experienced out of the group(in this case, her) has not had proper training for.

I don't mean to sound rude, it is just my personal opinion.

  • She did not lead them into the cave. She was diving with students near the opening of the cave. There are many diving sights in this area that have easy access into cave systems. I have taken many students around cave openings, but never in them. They are always told to never go in without proper training. I do see you point of view, but I disagree that the instructor had any responsiblity for the actions of these people. Also, this was TV show, that I am sure was spiced up a bit.

  • hmmm...now I see what you mean, and you are right. She was not going IN the cave, but just NEAR the entrance. It was the students who got inside(though they werent supposed to). The reason I got all mixed up was probably because of the "there was nothing I could do " line, which, as you mentioned, could have been fake.

I think the general moral is to not do something if you have been told not to do it :)

  • May 19 1990?? holy crap that was on my B-day!!!

  • Okay I think I'm gonna call my bf to watch the rest of this with me. From the time the light went out I was like shit. Its on pause right now. I'll try to watch the whole thing .. just let me get my bf. I'd hate for him to watch this alone. The poor guy.

  • LOL 5:17

  • dude he shouldnt be rising tat fast. he can kill his lungs

  • OMG I LIVE IN GAINESVILLE FLORIDA!!!!

  • Manatee springs??!!I go there every summer and no one has EVER! got injured there...not even cut on a rock..manatee is beautiful!!!

  • That would be sooooo scary.

  • Yeah I have a fear of water (well THINGS in the water). I think I would have died just from the fear :(

  • Yeah me to, my heart would stop beating and I should stop the breathing, im really scared of what the THINGS are in water!

  • things in water? You mean fish?

  • "One of the things that you're always told when you're an open-water diver is never to penetrate caves." DUH. But they apparently did it anyway. I'm glad that this didn't result in their deaths...but this doesn't take a genious to figure out that you don't have the equipment or training (as he said so himself) to go cave diving. Cave diving and ope-water diving are completely separate...

  • Okay, cancel that...having seen part 2, one person died and another person wasn't far from dying. So...just goes to show...if you aren't experienced with something, don't do it anyway.

  • Morons. Sorry, they were morons.

  • As I type this, Woody Jasper is sitting here giving us the "play by play". Woody is the man who saved the 2 divers. GOD BLESS Woody. Those people had a 1 in a billion chance of living. If Woody hadn't been at a picnic, with his dive gear, at just that moment these 2 young people would have not survived. I am privileged to know him and proud of what he did that crazy day. Thanks Woody. Rob.

  • Did he say anything about how accurate this re-enactment is?

  • Plan your dive, dive your plan!!!!!

I am not a cave diver .But when i whould like to dive in a cave onely with a quallified diving-instructor.

    Greetings from Geel Belgium.

  • Plan your dive, dive your plan!!!!!

  • o wow thats like an hour away from me

  • they should have had a continuous guideline

  • wats the 1/3 rule

  • Damn, Jaak, it's just a debate there's no need to be so rude. Besides she wasn't the DM, they were 'four friends and former students' all were certified and it wasn't the woman's place to tell them I'm out of air so you have to come up too. These are adults she's dealing with, they should have known better. I agree with allgood.

  • vote on the dvd release of rescue 911 to come out on dvd,at tvshowsondvd, com ,it is free ,rescue 911 has 462 votes so far ,if we all vote it will come out ,i had been working on a show called third watch to come out on dvd,it was the 4 most wanted show on there and they just said that it is coming out on dvd,so please lets get some votes on there to get rescue 911 in our dvd players, don't vote more then once or make more then one account they will delete all votes if you do

  • Do you have the segment from this episode where a store owner is shot during a robbery? If so, could you put that one up when you get the chance?

  • Someone else has already uploaded that one. You can find by searching for "Rescue 911 gun shop".

  • ok the one guy is almost sporting the 'flock of seagulls' hairdo!

  • Whatever. Go dive

  • Warn them before the dive, remind them of their training limitations, signal them not to go into the hole, and stay with them and keep an eye on them-not surface and get out of the water! She signald 'go up' and imediately after surfaced without looking back and checking on them. That's what my problem with her is. She just left. She led the dive. She was DiveMaster. What do DM's do? Bubblebutt74????

  • I guess we're just going to have to disagree on this one. They knew the limitations of their training, and we don't know that she didn't remind them on the drive up. She pointed up, and they all gave her the okay sign as if they were going to follow, and they intentionally waited for her to leave. This version of the segment was edited for profanity, but in the original broadcast, one of the divers said, "I knew I was going to catch hell from Jackie when I came out."

  • Are you a dive instructor? Have you been in that situation before? No? Well I have. I am a Master Diver Trainer, Rebreather instructor and cave diver.

  • The fact you're a dive instructor doesn't make it any less the victims' faults. These were certified divers, not students. She motioned for them to swim out of the crevice with her, but they didn't follow. They all knew that what they were doing was dangerous and that Jackie was going to be pissed at them when they came out, but they did it anyway. She could have gone back down and tried to physically restrain them, but they were going to go in regardless of her wishes.

  • STUPID instructor!!!!!! She sees everyone entering the cave but gets out of the water and takes her kit off.

WHAT THE FUCK? She could have stopped them!

    It's her fault they died

  • What was she supposed to do, wrestle each one to the surface? She told them not to go in, but they did it anyway. It's their own fault they got lost, not hers.

  • No. To wave your finger once and say no isn't enough. And right after that she surfaced without looking back, got out and just stood there. Some dive instructor hey?

  • It's not her fault they didn't listen to her. As certified divers, they had been told over and over prior to this not to go into caves without proper training. It's not her fault that she's smart and they're stupid.

  • She told them no and she motioned to go up. They're not children. They should have listened to her.

  • please vote at tvshowsondvd, com for rescue 911 it has 433 votes ,it needs more please all fans vote ,o and for the unsolved mysteries fans ,the season it is up to 413 votes ,take care all God bless

  • Actually they shouldn't of even been in that cave in the first place!! there is a reason they spend countless hours and money for Cave/cavern training.

C'Mon folks, use your heads!, THINK!!!!

  • This is the difference between so called Divers and "People Who Dive" They knew better and probably talked about this while they were walking down the path, but noooooooooooo ignore it, in one side and out the other! yes one died but they were extremely lucky they all didn't die. Just like the one diver said... "Our flippers stured up everything behind us"

first mistake, you don't flutter kick in a cave/cavern system! jeeez!!. I hope people who watch this "LEARN".

  • lol still watching video! pure luck that expert diver was there!!!

  • one of them was smart at least. the lady.

  • ya, im a diver also and I carry an extra tank thats full for stuff like this

  • Foolish to go into caves without proper equipment or training. They should have stayed AWAY from the caves, and stuck to where it was all clear.

  • It's interesting to note that the first story in this episode took place in the same city as the first segment in the episode before this one: Gainesville, Florida.

  • They probably shot both segments in one trip. They did that with two segments that took place in Beaverton, Oregon that aired on Episodes 204 and 205.

  • Thanks David, still champion of the world you are xoxo

  • scary shit
