For all who feel this engine is low tech and from the 50's. True, the first hemi was in an imperial in 1951. As far as "low tech" please understand how foolish you look when you make statements like that. The most powerful engines in motorsports use hemi. No, not NASCAR... NHRA! All top fuel and funny cars use hemi. They crank out upwards of 8000 HP. Yes I said 8000hp. And yes...with push rods.
USA! Don't even compare your gtr motor. No one will even remember it in 20 years.
@mannysamjam R u smoking crack? 2012 gt-r with 530hp goes from 0-60 in 2.9s and it finishes the 1/4 mile in the low 11
even the older model with 480hp make it to 60 in mid 3s and finishes the 1/4mile in the high to mid 11
the jeep srt8 older model goes from 0-60 in the high 4 stock and now with the newer model it achieves low to mid 4s and the 1/4mile comes in around 13s
FYI the new GT-R will have 15HP more thanTHE older 2012model & 60 more than previous models
@Verification11 ^^^ that being said, how can a srt8 smoke a GT-R
are you retarded ?? u know a tenth of a second equals a car length ?
so there's more than a one second difference between the two cars in 0-60 or a 1/4mile you do the math...
even from a roll out there's no comparison between the two cars, since the new GT-R has basically the same TORQUE numbers and more hp, plus better aerodynamic and lighter....
Engines are incredibly complex machines, the engineering effort and design that goes into creating such a beautiful work of art, really shows!! :) - This is my dream car :P
Cool video, its good to see what has been done internally to the 392. I love my Toxic Orange 392. I am looking forward to some Mopar Performance Parts.
@lemmor6791civ Like in my 67 Barracuda notch back. It would be less then 3000 LBS, I think it would be a monster too. Just wish I had one to install, and with a 6 speed manual transmission.. Would be sweet running car & get close to 27-30 mpg. I have the car if anyone has the motor & trans ?

Hey people, calm down, enjoy the video if you can or switch .simple. We all don't like the same brands or engines[chevy,ford,dodge], just enjoy it, if you aren't , don't waist you time.
@andrisc@foam27@sid203.. Y do u guys watch videos to complain? Im sure u can find some prius videos that would make u happy. btw, more pollution is made making a prius than what this engine can put out throughout its entire life. js
Interesting, my 392 Challenger "Certificate of Origin" states it is factory rated 491 SAE HP, and thus Dodge is under-rating these engines significantly. They are actually putting out over 500 horsepower. What a killer beast! Puting out over 432 RWHP w/drivetrain loss-thats upwards of 515 HP
25.4 MPG on a 153 mile trip with the cruise set @ 70MPH Try again clown. No it's not a Prius... But considering it's 470 horse I think 25MPG was pretty respectable!
@brett248vista 25,4mpg hm... nice shit oh i forgot u are huge american boy and like whole world know it in us nobody can get more than 30mpg without prius ... 3.8 V6 biturbo 530 hp ... nissan GTR can make combustion
12.1/100km in town and 10.8/100km on higway (convert to your units) ... this engine is future not this from 1950"s
@motorolo14 I would just assume that the cylinders alternate between 2 on each side so that it turns the crank more efficiently and the ware on the engine is more singular. If not and they just use the front 4 or back 4 etc. that would seem like a foolish mistake which could ware the engine faster and reduce efficiency.
It does not rotate which cylinders deactivate, it's always the same four that deactivate. There are no longevity issues, the rod and piston are still moving just like the other four.. the difference is, spark and fuel is removed and the valves are held open.
Wrong.. The 6.4 is the evolution of the "New Eagle" Hemi (5.7L) this is not a "stroked 6.1L" If anything.. It's a stroked and very high performance version of the New Eagle 5.7
I doubt, highly, that you really feel that way. I guess trashing anything you deem inferior (or in you so elegant words, piece of shit) is how you validate your position/opinions. Variable Cam Timing and Active Intake Manifolds are pretty damn high tech. Having pushrods does not deem it a piece of shit and you know that. It is silly to say what you have said.
@andrisc You got that right buddy way to go America for making bigger, better engines. BTW the ozone isn't depleting and we are not running out of oil. Have fun driving your Prius!
Suck on that camshaft prius...

All it is,is a stroked 5.7 I don't understand why they aren't comparing the 5.7 and 6.4 because the 6.1 is a totally different engine
