  • 0:32 chopperplatform in GTA IV !

  • at first i thought this is lego...

  • @superman113215

It actually has little to nothing to do with 'tilt-shifting' at all. Instead, parts of the image are blurred, so that it gives the illusion of being really close to the camera. Check out Miniature Faking on Wikipedia for a better description of how it works (and comparison shots)

  • 1:30 You probably thought this was an excavator. Nope! (Chuck) Testa.

  • /watch?v=g1kVwFYZwHE jesus christ guys, its real simple to do. thank me later

  • it is called tilt shift photography :)))

  • Is every second car in NY a taxi??

  • feels like a god watching my little creation

  • do you need a special lens to do this or just a savvy way around PS?

  • @strings29tata photoshop can simulate it pretty good, but actual lens would make it perfect

  • Bulldozer? Nope, just Chuck TESTA.

  • wow, look at all the toys! pretty good stop motion, its almost like its real. ALMOST..........wait, what? its real. no fucking way!

  • le tilt shiftin

  • my eyes are retarded ! thanks 9gag! u fucked up my life !

  • Awesome

  • my mind is officially fucked

  • my mind cannot handle the fuckery that is tilt shifting

  • this is how aliens see us from space. Just some toys to play around.

  • WHY DOES MY BRAIN THINK IT'S MINIATURE? ANYONE?!?!

  • WHY DOES MY BRAIN THINK IT'S MINIATURE? ANYONE?!?!

  • This is so cool I don't want to know how they do it.

  • what if u tilt -shift miniatures?

  • fucking tilt-shift lenses

    how do they work?

  • what is so special about those tilt shift lenses? how do they make real things look fake??

  • funny how some of these things looks fake but are real :P

  • Brace yourselves... 9GAG army coming!

  • 0:30 GTA IV helicopter platform

  • Tilt shift photography blows my mind o_o

  • Is this real life ?..

  • Is it necessary to blur the top and bottom to get this efffect?

  • @makeWatcher Not necessarily the top and bottom, but you need to create a very shallow depth of field, by blurring out most of the image.

  • Mindfuck!!!!!!!!!!

  • How the aliens see us

  • mindblow

  • OMG, I want a tilt shift lens. wait, I must get a camera first.

  • MINDFUCK

  • can someone explain to me how this works? i mean i know its real but they look like miniatures, and if you answer me with "they used a tilt-shift lens" YOU DONT FUCKING SAY

  • @superman1113215 if you were to take normal image and want it to look like its been tilt shifted its a simple gradient blur (in photoshop) to the top and bottom of the picture. the more blur applied to a specific area of the picture gives it the effect of distance and angle.

  • @XxSliMoO thanks greg

  • @superman1113215 Well a tilt-shift objective gives a very shallow depth of field, like a macro photo, giving the illusion of small objects.

  • @superman1113215 you see the blur? yeah, thats why. the blur around the object they are filming is simulating the depth of field in close-up photography. so in other words, it looks like as the camera is really close to a miniature scene

  • @superman1113215

    Well, do some research!

  • @superman1113215 when you look at those things in real scale with ur eyes u can see differences in depth (the blur) and perception (like if you look at a building from the bottom up it will look like a triangle and that sort of things), in toys and miniatures everything is in the same distance from ur eyes so u barely see any perspective changes, everything is in the 'correct' relative size, so you know its a miniature or a toy. tilt-shift lens 'plays' with this to create toy like images.

  • @superman1113215 UTFSE! first link works

  • @superman1113215 i think they play with macro. it is like focusing on a small object while blurring the environment around. you can see what i mean by trying to photograph a small object while focusing. i think that this technique has to do with something like that, but i am no expert.

  • God, you still god fast forward on, feed your Africans, they're starving!

  • 9 gag brought me here

  • the song gives me the sims feeling

  • Feels like Sim City/The Sims =D

  • The tilt-shift lens actually helps us think of ourselves in a less selfish way, and help us realise how small and insignificant we are in the big picture.

  • @astuc8

You're gonna be tired for a long time. We're not going anywhere. Can't help it if most people find us fascinating and they find you a...yawn...bore.

  • @Tallulah10014 A Save The Universe Club , A S T U C owns New York. We are going to put the whole place on a garbage barge and sink it at sea.

  • Why does the world seem more beautiful from this point of view?

  • @dajepsen yeh he did. if u find this in vimeo there's a link to his blogger, tells u there.

  • Respond to this video... tilt shift * photography

  • @dajepsen ok,, scrap wat i just said -.- i just read the interview and he says that he tested using the tilt shift focus, yet chose to just add the depth of field effect in the post production instead. Which gives the same effect, yet has more flexibility. :P hope this helps

  • ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL.

YOU!!!! WIN THE BAD ASS PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR MY MAN!

    Thank You

  • I like this song..... but where can I get it?

  • If aliens do exist, that's what I imagine must be their impression of us. Little tiny creatures who seem to be doing random things.

  • @minime68 Exactly the same like a human would see a big ant colony. However, the closer the prospective aliens look, the less random it must appear to them :)

I think this can be inferred to the nature itself. Looks random at first, but the closer you look, the more rules you find. Even Einstein said "God does not play dice."

  • I wonder if a lensbaby could do anything like this.

  • For some reason I have the urge to find a magnifying glass.....

  • русские везде

  • ничё подобного не видел, увидел - охуел, а где русские?

  • how did this guy do this? did he do the film work for eurovision? please someone reply

  • @daisydooo57 it's an effect called tilt-shifting. It's on certain cameras that make things looks miniature. c:

  • @daisydooo57

it's called the tilt shift effect, can be done with Adobe After Effects, you just blur out the edges, increase the contrast, increase the speed and work about 2 weeks and you have 5 minutes of video .

  • does it end at 'Ground Zero', the World Trade Center site?
