Thats the point, a Ford or Chevy truck like that is originally constructed for hauling things, then we hook up a front axle with drive and voila, we dont get stuck in the driveway anymore. The Niva is constructed from the bottom up as a terrain car. And the quality is far better than sceptics think. You see, the Russians aint stupid, just unlucky and drunk. @v8power200 I have a Suburban myself, its pretty impressive compared to a 2wd.. A Blazer is really shitty in the terrain, Jeeps are much better. The Chevy Niva came around just after y2k, and is loosely based on the old Niva.(which is still in production btw) Here we have Russian terrain know-how(cause they HAVE shitty roads...!) combined with American comfort and European design. Unbeatable! It was/is a great success. Looks something like a Suzuki Vitara. Google GM-AvtoVAZ to see the homepage.

@v8power200 Its kinda too wide and bulky.. In a Sub its different because its length kinda fits to the width and makes it a whole different car. I agre on that the Lada 1600cc isnt really impressive but in low gear it does the job in most situations.(A Niva once towed my Sub up a pretty steep hill without any problem.) Fiat engines fit directly on the gearbox so you can put a 2 liter Fiat Twin Cam in it, but those engines are prone to breaking down, the Lada is not... ;)
@v8power200 Yes, 6,2 diesel 1988. Gas powered versions are virtually non existent here due to the high fuel prices.(abt $8.25/gal) Ive seen some 350 powered ones but they were the newer after '91 version. And those are always converted to LPG.

its pretty easy to build your own intercooler, me and my brother intercooled a few. you can buy nice intercoolers on ebay for around $100. just clock the turbo and run some pipe.
Did you do anything to the lower end to keep it from throwing pistons? Also what i happened to the egt's that's allota power for that motor not to be spewing out molten piston. I bet it has lower compression pistons. ;] to handle happy boost. and that's where the power's made. along with lower egt's that come with turbo and especially high efficiency turbo.
not letting them warm up be4 u drive or rev it u have to cycle the glow plugs or it misses on some cylinders and eventually it cracks the crank shaft or breaks a wrist pin

how much did you turn the fuel up? I have an 87 r 10 short bed 6.2 with a banks kit I turned it up almost 1/2 turn and it doesnt even come close to smoking like that

So what internal mods have you done, 18:1 pistons...I'm assuming you've upgraded to the stronger crank and main girdles, rods hold up ok? I have a 97 1 ton with a 6.5L and pull campers for a living and you wouldn't believe how many times I've been told that a 6.5L wouldn't run with a cummins, powerstroke or duramax, until we get 13K# trailers behind us and start climbing hills, then they sink in the seat as I pull away. Cummins:Proof that anything can be fast if you throw enough money at it.
What King Of Turbocharger is it my freind. If i had the money I would buy say 1990 to 1996 GMC truck swap a Cummins into it with a 6-speed manual and use Industrial Injection's Injection pump set to 5000RPM so what do you think of that my friend

Exhaust Legal? No! This exhaust isn't legal, even in Texas, all exhaust by law has to exit behind the cab (in the case of a truck). But, there is a lot of leadway on that rule, just the pipe through the hood won't work (for safety inspection anyways).
To answer a couple Q's. Yes, it's 18:1 c/r, not too hard to put the turbo, just a litte cutting here and there (inner fender) radiator support for intercooler, etc. I hope to have some more videos in the near future. Darn weather hasn't been cooperating!

Well to buy a cummins motor is REALLY expensive and if you know the weaknesses and fix em first then you will be fine. How many people do you know with beefed up cummins....alot. How many people do you know with a beefed up 6.2 or 6.5....not many. Its pretty cool having a hot motor that everybody thinks bad about and showing em up.

First off, the truck is used for drag racing but with the "puller" look.
The gauge cluster is of my own creation. I purchased a generic "dash mount" pod off ebay, then made a bracket to mount the gauges to the head liner, and then ran the wires underneath the metal trim. Clean install.
How did I make it whistle? Well, it's not a GM Turbocharger, but rather a custom Holset (Cummins) turbo I've combined myself.

Kenfag's F350 is just too big and heavy for any real terrain, unless he someday can afford some real tractor wheels for it, and turn it into a monstertruck. Check out Niva videos here, its amazing. Thats the point, a Ford or Chevy truck like that is originally constructed for hauling things, then we hook up a front axle with drive and voila, we dont get stuck in the driveway anymore. The Niva is constructed from the bottom up as a terrain car. And the quality is far better than sceptics think. You see, the Russians aint stupid, just unlucky and drunk. @v8power200 I have a Suburban myself, its pretty impressive compared to a 2wd.. A Blazer is really shitty in the terrain, Jeeps are much better. The Chevy Niva came around just after y2k, and is loosely based on the old Niva.(which is still in production btw) Here we have Russian terrain know-how(cause they HAVE shitty roads...!) combined with American comfort and European design. Unbeatable! It was/is a great success. Looks something like a Suzuki Vitara. Google GM-AvtoVAZ to see the homepage.

@v8power200 Its kinda too wide and bulky.. In a Sub its different because its length kinda fits to the width and makes it a whole different car. I agre on that the Lada 1600cc isnt really impressive but in low gear it does the job in most situations.(A Niva once towed my Sub up a pretty steep hill without any problem.) Fiat engines fit directly on the gearbox so you can put a 2 liter Fiat Twin Cam in it, but those engines are prone to breaking down, the Lada is not... ;)

@v8power200 Yes, 6,2 diesel 1988. Gas powered versions are virtually non existent here due to the high fuel prices.(abt $8.25/gal) Ive seen some 350 powered ones but they were the newer after '91 version. And those are always converted to LPG.

its pretty easy to build your own intercooler, me and my brother intercooled a few. you can buy nice intercoolers on ebay for around $100. just clock the turbo and run some pipe.

Did you do anything to the lower end to keep it from throwing pistons? Also what i happened to the egt's that's allota power for that motor not to be spewing out molten piston. I bet it has lower compression pistons. ;] to handle happy boost. and that's where the power's made. along with lower egt's that come with turbo and especially high efficiency turbo.

So what internal mods have you done, 18:1 pistons...I'm assuming you've upgraded to the stronger crank and main girdles, rods hold up ok? I have a 97 1 ton with a 6.5L and pull campers for a living and you wouldn't believe how many times I've been told that a 6.5L wouldn't run with a cummins, powerstroke or duramax, until we get 13K# trailers behind us and start climbing hills, then they sink in the seat as I pull away. Cummins:Proof that anything can be fast if you throw enough money at it.

Exhaust Legal? No! This exhaust isn't legal, even in Texas, all exhaust by law has to exit behind the cab (in the case of a truck). But, there is a lot of leadway on that rule, just the pipe through the hood won't work (for safety inspection anyways).

To answer a couple Q's. Yes, it's 18:1 c/r, not too hard to put the turbo, just a litte cutting here and there (inner fender) radiator support for intercooler, etc. I hope to have some more videos in the near future. Darn weather hasn't been cooperating!

My diesel has 21.5:1 and is turbo'd!
I like the stack, u can check how much smoke ur makin!
Beyond certain boosts, temp rises so much that u can get less air in, unless u have intercooler. Suppose u can tell when u loose power.
Turbo diesels often have boost compensator, without these u get smoke pre boost if u r running enough fuel for the boost. nice.

for the cost of the custom job that had to have been done to make GOOD power, why not go the cummins w/ twins route?

Well to buy a cummins motor is REALLY expensive and if you know the weaknesses and fix em first then you will be fine. How many people do you know with beefed up cummins....alot. How many people do you know with a beefed up 6.2 or 6.5....not many. Its pretty cool having a hot motor that everybody thinks bad about and showing em up.

Yeah that is badass. Im guna guess you got yourself a hold of a mechanical 6.5? How much boost you peakin at and you got it intercooled? I have a 93 6.5TD myself with some goodies.

First off, the truck is used for drag racing but with the "puller" look.
The gauge cluster is of my own creation. I purchased a generic "dash mount" pod off ebay, then made a bracket to mount the gauges to the head liner, and then ran the wires underneath the metal trim. Clean install.
How did I make it whistle? Well, it's not a GM Turbocharger, but rather a custom Holset (Cummins) turbo I've combined myself.
