She's probably referring Bertrand Russell. As for what she thinks he was right about, judging by the preceding two lines, she agrees with his criticism of Christianity. But she could just as easily be referring to some other aspect of Russell's philosophy or ideas.

You're right there's no way I could have read enough Bertrand Russell to have a basic understanding of his views of Christianity. In fact, I just googled the name Russell to answer your question. At first I was going to post info about Russel Simmons or maybe a blurb about Russell Stover candies, perhaps even Russet potatos, but at the last minute decided to go for the bigger name.

Obviously Dessa is referring to a figure in philosophy, her being a expert in that field and all. And Russell is the last name so that made it pretty easy to narrow down.
