For some reason my family's been hanging on to our '91 LX, even though we rarely drive it. She's a cream puff too! Around 211,000 miles, but drives and like like it has about 10,000 on it! Never rebuilt, never wrecked, etc. It's ALWAYS been in the garage, full maintenance done once a year, and that's it. It is also religiously Armor-All(ed)! Although it is older, I'd love to build it up and leave the outside appearance stock (including stock exhaust, and have some fun with it out on the street.
my car is working great thanks alot i will probably change the waterpump again after winter i always just check the engine everyday when i use it instead of second guessing and the car was having slight issues rev ving up but it turns on like a charm now the engine i had it worked on about two months ago cost a grand but the difference is there! thanks guys!
thats a fantastic result! If you want to maintain on a more daily basis, you should check out my new video on Meguiar's Consumer engine cleaner and dressings! This will be available to any car guy....its one of my newest videos!
Spray on degreaser and scrub with a small Mothers detail brush. I spent about 2 hours repeating this process.
On a cleaner engine, you can probably get away with just a spray with degreaser and pressure rinse. But the dirt on this engine bay really needed to be scrubbed to break it away from the surface.
really? well you did a great job! Im just scared that I might damage the electrical because I modified the engine harness myself while doing a swap and rewraped it with ducktape.. I noticed you swapped in a jdm h22a?? nice..
Thanks! Well if you're afraid of damaging electrical components you can start off with using a cloth instead of a spray and scrub method.
Spray the cleaner/degreaser onto a damp cloth and work your way around the engine bay. Use another damp cloth to wipe off the cleaner/degreaser, rinse the cloth in a bucket of water after it has too much degreaser on it.
This is much slower and not as strong as scrubbing, but it is safe as water won't go to areas you don't want it to go.
i didnt know duals came in a 91

hey do you just spray on the degresser and then wash it out with a hose?

I wish it was that fast and easy! :)
