  • Some of the DS9 episodes used the Mirror Universe.

  • @KeredDrahcir Yes, yes they did.

  • thumbs up if you think the mirror universe should get its own show

  • excelente

  • I even WISH Enterprise would have been like this episode

  • This is the most EPIC opening for Star Trek, even if Enterprise. Congratulations to whomever came up with this Geniality

  • one of the best seasons of all series !

    and i've seen everything

  • this proves that the human race is and always will be the most dominant race in the galaxy >:D for the TERRAN EMPIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This should be the next ST TV series. Or, since the Kirk era movies are in an alternate time, they can retell the TOS years. None of TNG or DS9 or Voyager happened in the JJ Abrams time ine.

  • @fjccommish

It may take a good while since the cancellation of Star Trek Enterprise(cut short by at least a season that´s why it was ended so ridiculously)!

  • @fjccommish JJ Abrams fucked it all up!

  • "Every normal man must be tempted at times to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin to slit throats." - H. L. Mencken

  • New World Order = Terran Empire???

  • So you die Captain and we all move up in rank! MWWWA HA HA HA!

  • P.S put my previous comment in all caps

  • nrrraaaaahhhhhhhhaaaaahhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaa!!! The Galaxy Will be mine!!!nrrraaaaahhhhhhhhaaaaahhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaa!!!

  • Gene's vision.

  • You know, listening to this makes you want to stand at the top of a tall tower, throw your head back and let out a guttural, roaring, menacing, triumphant pall of laughter. Doesn't it?

  • @Martmeisterpaladin It makes me want to stand silently on a balcony, watching my troops march in formation down Pennsylvanian Avenue.

  • sadly that intro is much more real than the other idealistic one

  • You know, it looks to me like the Empire was founded during or after ww1 as the scene right before it first shows the Terran Empire symbol is that of ww1 footage. My guess is that Imperial Germany won ww1 and kept growing until it took over the entire world.

  • I really wish either JJ Abrams would make a movie about the mirror universe or a tv series, honestly I want to see a series where Humanity are the villains and bad asses of the universe for a change of pace. I mean I love the classic star trek about peaceful exploration, but I want to see a series about Rodenberry's alternate future in which Humanity went down a different path.

  • @StreetFighterFan86 That is true, they gave the Borg the movie treatment, so why not the mirror universe? Isn't it in every series except TNG?

  • Me: mom! im going out.

Mom: where are you going dear?

Me: um..nowhere special im just going to start my own Terran Empire like the one on star trek.

    Mom: ohh...! have fun honey.

    Me: thanks mom.

Mom: make sure you bring home a warship.

    Me: will do.

  • "Insert crappy Halo joke about the videos length here"

  • i'm sure this is going to be the future of mankind. there will be no "friendly" species out there for us to explore. nature works on one simple rule: eat or get eaten. and mankind will live with its ancient instincts for eternity: the need for war, expansion, survival. it's to bad that human technology evolved faster than human logic. so many weapons, so little heart. long live the terran empire!

  • they forgot to show PRESIDENT Dick Cheyney in the history of evil earth

  • different depending on which version you read. or watch, because in the books/tv it backs up Kira's story that Spook made major cutbacks to the military and reduced the number of vessels starfleet had, the klingons and cardassians teamed up and made everyone slaves but according to the book dark mirror by Diane DuaneSpook acted on Kirks words rised to admirty and was executed for treason and the empire conquered all worlds untill trying to invade ours

  • If the entire series were based in the alternate universe I would have been a weekly viewer!

  • The United States kinda blew it of creating a one world order after winning WWII. They could've took over Korea, as MacArthur wanted and keep marching toward China. Same for Soviet Union as Patton envisioned. Sure, it would've been messy at first but I doubt the world would not be suffering decades of continuious wars like we are now. Unfortunately as a humanity, as soon as peace settles in, the bitching starts.

  • I wonder, in the Mirror Universe, did Hitler win WW2? Everything seems reversed and Starfleet in this episode are very much Nazi-like.

  • @Femmenition Actually they follow the Roman way of warfare. Their salute is more Roman imperial then Nazi: they name their earth, Terra and moon, Luna, both Roman references: and their style of uniform is more flamboyant then Nazi military precision.

  • @Femmenition Actually, the "normal" Star Trek is the real Mirror Universe.

The so-called "Mirror Universe" is really OUR universe.

Think of all the twisted and evil doings of Earth's history. Can you be in doubt that when humans get into space, we are not going screw that up too? All the really evil people and systems of the Mirror Universe have their forerunners here on OUR Earth.

  • @pumpkinjollof Totally agree with your post!

  • @pumpkinjollof its not realy our universe the terren empire was founded by hitler when he won the war and that did not happen

  • @pumpkinjollof I don't think so. I think that if/when we get to that stage, things are going to be pretty much as they are now. There will be many nations, with some being more/less moral than others. And humans aren't going to change, most of us will be decent, but a lot will be monsters, just like they are today. I think the TV series 'Babylon 5' got it down pretty good.

  • @pumpkinjollof : I was thinking our universe is somewhere between Normal Star Trek and Mirror Star Trek. We are not perfect but we are not complete monsters

  • @Femmenition It kind of makes you wonder how one small change can have on the future

  • Even the Klingons fear us!!!

  • They should do a new ST series just set entirely in the mirror universe...okay maybe have one or two episodes set in the prime universe too...see how the whiny little primeys like THAT, eh?

  • the scene where the torp was destroy the builing look like it comes from a voyager scene

  • @MrSith14 It was, from the episode "Dragon's Teeth".

  • @MrSith14 it does ...

  • In the "history of eeevil Earth" montage, they forgot to include Bush in his "flight" suit, Donald Rumsfeld [doing anything] and Glenn Beck in front of a pie chart. Oh, and the eeevil starships bombing the hell out of a planet looked phony as hell. Otherwise, flawless.

  • @kingofcali1974 The scene with the 'EVIL' not eevil, sorry couldn't help it, was from Voyager in the episode "Dragon's Teeth"

  • @kingofcali1974 Obama too, laughing as he bombs the shit out of little Libyan children.

  • @translucentorb Oh, and also David Duke, serving as the modern day Goebbels that he is.

  • @ChavHardMan Unfortunatley the mainstream news outlets are the current incarnation of the Goebbels archetype.

  • @kingofcali1974 well what the fuck do you expect in computers, when the scene of 'eeevil starships bombing the hell out of a planet' was from voyager - an episode that was done 10 years ago?

  • @kingofcali1974 I'm conservative. So I suppose it should include me indignantly rebuffing your biased statement as well?

  • @kingofcali1974 lol silly liberal pig

  • @kingofcali1974 Earth was united by 1969, the United States didn't exist for Bush to ever be President of it. :P

  • makes you wonder what the Mirror Universe is like in the modern day? I think it started after America allied with Nazi Germany, won WWII and took over the world, forming the Empire instead of the United Nations. The March Towards Victory has not stopped since! Long live the Empire!

  • I feel like we are the mirror universe lol

  • @earthwolf82 scrolled down to post this.

  • @PawelK198604 The idea of Star Trek is that we improved ourselves over time. That's why Enterprise was a lot darker than the other shows, because we were getting there, but hadn't quite made it. I agree, the mirror universe is probably more what things would be like if people from our time ran everything in the future. Actually it's probably a lot nicer than what things would be like if people from our time ran everything in the future.

  • this is wut happens if Hitler wins ww2

  • Now that's a more realistic view on on possible future of humanity.

  • \m/

  • 0:49 u can tell its a women

  • Im not even into star trek but that was fucking epic

  • The whole series should have been like this. Maybe with a bit less capricious murder (since that forces them to keep hiring new actors) but certainly with more ruthlessness and edge and damnit, sometimes men have to make live-or-die decisions: we live, you DIE!

  • @Bryan514 Agreed. I think the public would be ready for a nice change of pace from the usual star trek characters getting their butts kicked, kidnapped, tortured, experimented upon, killed or assimilated. Where humans actually dominated rather then being constantly being dismissed because we don't have psychic ability (vulcans, Betazoids), super strength (again Vulcans, Klingons, Borg, androids, augments), or some other survival advantage. GO humans er Terrans!

  • @hamanu666 This is actually a really good idea. Instead of trying to get people to change themselves by showing us what we COULD be, show us what we WILL be if we don't change ourselves. It would still be 100% Star Trek ideology and philosophy, but with the motives reversed. They could do a lot more than just showing whats happening and all the badassness of the universe and get into some really complex themes about how the darker characters survive in their universe. It would be fresh.

  • @ragingmonkey64 From the way everyone seems to react to the epsidoes it seems they'd more than learn the message "WE CAN DOMINATE THE GALAXY NOW! DO IT!" Because they like the idea of us not cow towing to aliens and crap.

I blame the Renegade path option in Mass Effect and all the badass oneliners Renegade Shepard has.

  • WHY THE FUCK WASN'T THIS THE THEME MUSIC FOR THE ACTUAL SHOW THIS SONG IS GREAT! And the visuals were great.

  • better than the original

  • at 0:31 was that from the movie Hunt for Red October or U-571 by chance?

  • They should make a Star Trek Series that takes place entirely in the Mirror Universe.

    I'll watch that.

  • @lucasliso or at least a movie in it

  • @lucasliso I'd like to see that too, but the way they make it feel with the crew killing each other to advance, they'd run out of actors really quick.

  • @lucasliso They'd be able to replace actors too, since they kill each other off each week. Like super Survivor :D

  • makes me think of the Imperium from 40k

  • impressive

  • They should make a series based on the Terran Empire. I would want to see how that would all play out.

  • Long Live The Empire!! The Empire fell but it regained power after captain Sisko helped them out. In the year 2409 (in Star trek online) the Terran Empire once again had a lot of power.

  • @keegan47401 well if the federation are a dominant force in our universe then in the mirror universe the terran empire would probably conqer them since its based on a the whole balance scenario. also if federation falls that means that terran empire will fall too.

  • @darthchoas1 Except that in the Mirror Universe, the Terran Empire has already fallen by the time of the events of DS9 though arguably the balance was upset by the incursion from the "prime" universe.

  • Why didn't they set the entire series in the mirror universe? would of made a much cooler show.

  • thank you for not compressing the length. this is the only version i could find in the correct key

  • @keegan47401 Dark Mirror by Diane Duane i think, it came out in 1993 before the unfortunate DS9 episode "Crossover" which ruined the mirror universe with the fall of the Terran Empire. One of the most endearing qualities of the mirror universe was seeing your favorite do-gooder star fleet characters being bad asses for once.

  • @keegan47401 In the story 'Worst of Both Worlds', the Borg have a king and are much more aggressive, with cubes being massive compared to the ones in our universe.

  • @MrPsychic8472 Where do I find that book? "Worst of Both Worlds"

  • @borg3of4 It's a short story in the book 'Glass Empires' which takes place in Enterprise, TOS, and TNG timelines in the mirror universe.

  • this is sooooo much better then the usual crappy opening

  • The first time Enterprise was actually cool.

  • @TheOneUntakenName the only time Enterprise was cool. Ok not totally true, but few episodes of this show were actually any good by the time it was cancelled although it was improving in season 4. By then it was too late.

  • @TheOneUntakenName it wasn't the 'first' enterprise, as far as intergalactic spaceshiips went. it was the second - the first being a passenger ship, roughly 40 years before the nx series.

  • Salute the empire! \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o \o

  • I know, Berman and PIller have a lot to answer for!

  • is the last scene the Enterprise attacking the Xindi? Cos I loved the story arc.

  • @BAMitisME Yes, it is.

  • Long Live the EMPIRE !!! {/salute}

  • Best Star Trek Intro EVER

  • That looks awesome! Every star trek episode should be like that. I prefer star trek where everything explodes and their are loads of space fights. I recommend watching this episode

  • This was the 700th Star Trek episode (animated series excluded).

  • Looks much like the real earth...

  • WHY DID THE EMPIRE HAVE TO FALL (DS9, humans are slaves to there former slaves, who didn't see that comming?).

  • @dave19941000 Humanity's arrogance got the best of them.

  • @MrPsychic8472 In the DS9 episode "Crossover" mirror Kira explains it was mirror Spock's rise to power and his instillation of greater freedoms and disarmament of their fleet that caused the downfall of the Terran Empire. The Klingons and Cardassians joined to form the Alliance and enslaved humanity because of it, somewhere between TOS and TNG. What a waste of great story telling, would have loved to have seen a mirror TNG episode.

  • @hamanu666 Read the book 'The Sorrows of Empire', it explains Spock's rise to power and his reforms.

  • @hamanu666

This is true. If you haven't read it, I recommend the Star Trek TNG novel called 'Dark Mirror'.

There was so much potential with the whole 'Dark Universe' star trek, it would have made a neat series on its own...but I guess people are still too squeemish to produce things that show the darker side of humanity. Ahh well, back to the 41st millennium for me, where there is only war.

  • @MrPsychic8472 No, humanity allowed itself to be swayed by the words of cowards and traitors. Had they stayed the course I have no doubt that the situation would be reversed.

The Cardassians would've been effortlessly slaughtered.

The Borg would be made humanity's pet cyborgs and used for executions via assimilation.

The Klingons would find out what a true warrior is...

NO ONE CAN STAND AGAINST A UNITED HUMANITY BENT ON CONQUEST!!

  • @Dust210 Okay... I love Star Trek... The Mirror Universe episodes are some of the best... And yet, for some reason, this idea of "Terra uber alles" {Human Over All} doesn't sit right with me, sorry

  • @Dust210 in alternate universe the kligons would be the good side and civil not warrior like

  • @Dust210 Except for a Romulan-engineered virus.

  • @Dust210 And the Q would have destroyed them for being unworthy of existence...

  • @Dust210 then what about the Romulan star empire? and the Xindi, we all know that the Borg are no match for Xindi ships, and that species from the other dimention, species 517 I think?

  • @jaspertheking4life The Romulans are nothing but cowards skulking in the shadows! They shall be dragged into the light and crushed beneath our booted heal. The Xindi are at each others throats so much they will never notice our approach until our knives are already through their throats. Species 8472 can do nothing unless we open a portal into fluidic space, so we will. Our fleets will pour into their realm in such numbers that they will be swept away without a fight.

    WE SHALL BE VICTORIOUS!!

  • @Dust210 especially since even in the relatively early years of space travel the earth had SIX CENCOREDING BILLION HUMANS YEAH SUCCKKAH!!

  • @Dust210 I would like to watch a Star Trek series where humanity are the aggressors in interstellar conflicts and the Klingons are the one telling us that we are too bloodthirsty.

A united humanity bent on conquest... Something tells me that is going to be an unstoppable force.

  • @Dust210 the fault was Spock in the original series

  • @Dust210 LOL! We do know from our history just how nasty we can be when we really want to don´t we?!?

  • The new world order, Global dictatorship, Today, Earth, Tomorrow, The Galaxy.

Evil takes over, and freedom is lost for hundreds of years, to stop this from becoming reality visit infowars.com.

  • In the Grim Darkness of the Far Future. . .

  • I really hate the sub scene it is an los Angeles attack sub

torpedoing a German type IX submarine, there are at least 50

years between them. Pit instead a L.A submarine against a

Gotlandclass one so maybe the outcome would be different.

  • @svartekaptenen Well, it was a scene from the movie "The Hunt for Red October", so that could be why it was that outmatched.

  • @MrPsychic8472 That was a German U-Boat blowing-up from the U-571 scene, where the American crew who had just captured that boat had to counter-attack. It was their third torpedo which scored that hit.

  • @svartekaptenen The sub is not an LA boat its a Russian Alfa (Project 705) class. The footage is from "The Hunt For Red October" while the German type VII (Not a Type IX) is from "U-571". I don't think the producers of Enterprise were going to do new CGI for the opening, they just used existing footage. Would have been better if they maybe used some footage from "Crimson Tide" instead then the subs would have been from the same era.

  • @svartekaptenen That wasn't a Los Angeles Class Attack Sub it was a Soviet Alfa Class Attack Sub. It was the Konovalov firing on the Red October shortly after the crew of the USS Dallas had boarded her. The Dallas never fired a shot in the ensuing sequence.

  • @svartekaptenen Something 50 years (or even more) older isn't necessary harmless. To ignore a danger just because it's old is dangerous. And arogant. Example: one could kill a modern solider in an urban assault with i.e. a crossbow. Or a black powder bomb/grenade/mine.

  • @andrzej2501 Ofcourse not but I would not have liked to be

in the type IX would you?

  • @svartekaptenen If I had a choice I wouldn't be in te 668 either ;) A torpedo or a depthcharge can kill a 668 and everyone on board just as permanently as a type IX. But sometimes you can choose, and sometimes you don't. And there are plenty examples in history of people with inferior technology kicking asses of people with superior technology. Besides - this is Star Trek: you have phasers and swords and swords sometimes winning ;)

  • If they ever do a new series of start trek, they should do a dark one based on the empire

  • The Mirror universe episodes were the best part of the series.

  • Footage from The Hunt For Red October and Top Gun in some parts.

  • If they were gonna plan any new STar Trek series it would be epic to be based off the empire!

  • Loved these episodes!

  • To be honest, the mirror universe is much more like our universe than the 'normal' Star Trek universe.

  • Assuming that they weren't constantly trying to kill each other, and that Spock hadn't gone and done it in, I wonder how the Terran Empire would have faired against that universe's Dominion?

Probably wouldn't have wasted time teaching their crew to play baseball on the FUCKING HOLODECK, that's for sure.

  • @DarkNova50 I was wondering something along those lines, but instead of the Dominion, i was thinking about how they would have faired against the Borg or Species 8472

  • @porpus99 yeah a great premise for a new trek series, ST Mirror Universe where the empire did not fall and we see them just after voyager returns home with new tech from the delta quadrant. The empire deals with rebellions, the klingons, Romulans and cardassians in a manner that makes sense... screw diplomacy, conquoer them!

  • @DarkNova50 I LOL irl on that comment. Yeah that baseball episode in the middle of the Dominion War was beyond rediculous. It belonged in the first or second season not in the 6th or 7th when it appeared.

  • i love the soundtrack! and the actors are very dark goodness!

why does the orginal theme in the ost not exist?

  • It's so dark I like it

  • I've been reading some stuff on line about the mirror universe, seems very awesome. The books too. I wonder if the Terran Empire is really the Roman Empire that never went under and continued to conquer. There seem to be some references to the Romans in the mirror universe.

  • @0906peter I think more like the Byzantines who were an offshoot of The Roman empire and were known for their backstabbing politics

  • @SwordsmanMercenary

    Yeah maybe.

I think I'm going to read some mirror universe books. They may be more in there.

  • @johnhalliwell I liked the music better too.

  • Comment removed

  • They should have used this story as a springboard for a series set in the mirror universe.

  • @VinnyMonster1 fully agree. Its too bad they showed these episodes about 3 from the end of the 4th and final season. Had they showed em at the beginning of the 4th they might have been able to spring board it into a whole new season of mirror universe enterprise.

  • Captain Johnathan Archer from mirror universe looks like a f.... fascist

  • @PawelK198604 That's because he IS a fascist.

  • @VinnyMonster1 It's even funny to see friendly and good-natured Captain Johnathan Archer as a fascist;-)

  • @PawelK198604 You're not wrong there.

And is it me, or did Scott seem to be enjoying the part?

  • @VinnyMonster1 When i first time saw i "In the mirror darkly" I ROTFL watching Scott Bskula trying to play fascist, he is simple not suitable for this role at all, he looked like a parody of himself:-) IMHO Mirror Hoshi and Mirror Trip are much better

  • I really love the Mirror Universe -conquer! we are the supreme beings! daleks?- but they kill and betray each other far too often. So not healthy..

  • @gredorial The Daleks do not have as much backstabbing as the Terran Empire, they're always moving forward in their same manner, exterminating all those who are not Dalek.

  • @MrPsychic8472 exterminate! lol

  • @gredorial That whole, "kill your superior to advance in rank" sounds cool for a once visited scenario like the original Mirror Mirror episode, but its not a practical way of running a military. Too many young, inexperience, but ruthless commander in charge of capital ships would severely weaken the strength of the fleet in time of war. And the empire seems to be in a near perpetual state of war.

  • This is a more realistic vision of what humans would do with warp drive at their fingertips.

  • This Terran opening shows humanity's grander achievements maaan!

  • This is a realistic future, not like the Federation, more like the Empire. We Terrans rule!!!! =)

  • This is so evil but its cooler than any startrek intro.

  • IMHO, this Star Trek is more suitable to the reality than the one shown in the "normal" reality, because is such an idyllic, utopian and egalitarian that it is simply not realistic. the commanders and captains from mirror reality are cruel, vicious, vile and deceitful, therefore, are like ordinary people.

  • @PawelK198604

I note this with sadness but we are more simlar to mirror Johnathan Archer from the mirror universe, than nice and good-hearted Captain Johathan Archer from prime universe, who for the defense of a wounded and an innocent bunny did do anything:-)

  • oh, how i love your cynical view of the world. seriously, i do.

  • if a whole series or full film was based on this I bet it would have had a large success, great episodes, not like normal gay crap in gay universe,Terran Empire universe is a cool SF creation(the only thing I don't like about it is that they betray too much/often)

  • I didn't know a universe had a sexual orientation... Why don't you come back when you can make a better argument than 'gay universe is gay', it doesn't look highly upon your intelligence if you can't come up with a coherent statement.

  • ofc it has, just think how the "original" ST universe looks....if people acted so on Earth you would think they are fake +they dress with funny colored clothes that stick to their bodies, they also have hand "defensive weapons" that look like they have been bough in a sex shop, not to mention other things...so yes,I think the "original" universe is gay and inhuman XD

  • Actually, in the mirror universe both Leeta and Kira are lezbos. Since it's the opposite of our "normal" universe then maybe people there are normally gay and heterosexuals are in the minority.

So, yeah. Gay universe could very well ACTUALLY be gay.

Hmm... I wonder where Mirror-T'Pal's goatee is?

  • @MrPsychic8472 Screw coherence, I have tautology!

    Get immortal or die trying!
